It's like Christmas, Halloween and my Birthday rolled into one. Not only that, but I'm meeting a lot of cool artists and having some great conversations.

A few of the other contestants have parts or dealings in the Walking City OCT which is like the big name in OCTs on DeviantART right now.

Hey so, I'm designing another character for something else and I've having trouble picking a good color scheme.

Which of these looks best? Or would a different set of colors look better?

I prefere the first one.

But perhaps the colour of the heart needs to be darker.
A brighter colour draws the focus to the heart.

Have you ever considered trying one of those hatchling adoptable projects? Artists create a group of eggs and then auction them off to others who then choose the generic details (Species, gender, age, etc). The artist then draws a creature based on the egg matching the features chosen by the person they are giving the art.

I'd never heard of this before. It sounds cool.

Basically you use the egg as a hint of what the person who wants the art could receive and then let the person also add in some of their own suggestions for detail.

Here is an example of a finished one. I'd show more, but this artist tends to do nsfw stuff and I haven't found another good artist who has done this project.
