I'm was thinking more along the lines of mainstream ones, like kenichi, or naruto, or even Torikor, I haven't read Jojo, because the tiems I've come across the cover it looked like bizzare biker torture porn, so I can't say if that writer does it or not.

I was reffering to thing like saying their character moves past the speed of sound, or can  lift 1100 tons, or goes through 10 million callories every hour.

Imagine a manga of such length as Naruto or Bleach...in which the characters never changed or developed or grew. How long would you stay interested. Not long I;d wager. In stagnation is death. Manga simply follow a natural progression of power given their highly extended story period. It is a near essential incline

 Wouldn't work. I know for a fact it wouldn't. Without some increase in power, no matter how minute, anime and manga will eventually get boring. And along with increase in power, increase in challenges.

makes you wonder how they made a series out of fist of the north star, or any of the original gundams, or speed racer, or add name here.

But we're not talking about that minute increases in skill within the borders of humanity or even reality, we're talking about ridiculous exagerations which aren't really accurately describing what's happening in the manga....question, if Naruto's wind rasengan attacks enemies at the celullar level, how are they not reduced to a pile of cytoplasm?

Then don't read it. If you overanaylyze anything you see plot holes. Which is why you're just supposed to enjoy the story for what it is. Dissecting it ruins it.

 Slice of life is great for Hallmark Channel. Not so much for something intended as action/adventure.Then again, if you can think of a counterexample, I'd love to hear it.
