I believe that sufficiently sharpened obsidian surgical tools don't activate any pain sensors if used in the right place. Plus they can probably cut through you as easily as air. Imagine that with poison.

I don't mind the lighting as nlong as it doesn't belong overly powerful, think lighting arrow, but he wouldn't get leadership, that woudl be a personal characteristic, not one passed down through heredity. If he's a confident leader, with gerat social skills thats all thanks to the character.

Smaller shield, lugging something like that on one arm would not be good, also unless it's a specic memory, you only get one weapon, in other words the sword and shield would be on the same hand.
