The spring-heeled jack example is more or less done.
The categories at least, The actual article needs more though.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

I see. I did the same for the Djinn. Outer shell now; in-depth info later...

A djinn as monstrous humanoid though?

Couldn't think of another...
which is why I was thinking of a kinda different classification. Mind if I elaborate?

Go ahead.
The appearance one was iffy for me anyway.

Fay- Often-winged humanoids, capable of magical and pseudomagical powers
Nymphet- Fay-like beings with divine ties or lineage, often displaying a deep connection to the elements of nature Diminutive- Creatures smaller than, but similar in appearance to, humans; often prone to mischief and/or magic Goblinoid- Grotesque creatures of elfin origin, prone to mischief, violence, and, in some cases, magical/pseudomagical pursuits Daemon- Creatures of origin with fallen angels, usually prone to shady, evil or mischievous dealings Angelic- Creatures with ties to active angels, usually prone to helpful, benevolent dealings Constructs- Mechanisms, human or humanoid in form, used by their creator to carry out a specific task Undead- Creatures that exist solely as the living remnants of a once-living creature OR Undead- Creatures whose bodies were formerly possessed of a spirit, then died, and had their soul re-enter their body, naturally or unnaturally (choose either one you think best fits) Incorporeal- Creatures deprived of physical form (perhaps the spirit of a formerly living creature) deprived of physical needs Outsider- Creatures that have, or appear to have, origins on other planets or other planes; often naturally intelligent, and either curious other races and species, or highly xenophobic Half-Breed- creatures of mixed, but still compatible, genetic natures, combining the most beneficial of each Therianthrope- Creatures with animalistic features and abilities (and perhaps a wild nature) either inherently or externally obtained

Those look like species..
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Meh, close enough...use this to your discretion, really.
I'd think that this is more, uh, type or class than species. Ex: A Domovoi is a Diminutive Species. Merlin the Wizard is a Cambion, a daemon species.

So, just add that to what we have?
Maybe we could get rid of appearance....
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Either is suitable, really.

What if something fulfills more than one of them?
A Pixie is a Fay, Nymphlet, and a Diminutive.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Well, um, try to arrange them in a way that sounds aesthetic.
I realized this problem, but it has to be so, because not every diminutive is fay, and not every fay is diminutive (haha, did you know spriggans could grow to the size of GIANTS???)

hmm good try to find a way for them to relate to each character from our team. Like I said I was planning on the leader of the organization to be some sort of dragon, most likely one of the dragon god's from Chinese mythology. Insanely powerful giant mastermind serpent seems to be a good leader for an evil organization bent on destroying humanity for some reason.

kay...and, being a serpent, I would assume he consults primarily with other serpents and serpentine humanoids (i.e. nagas, gorgons, etc.)

I used serpent to describe dragon species, but no he doesn't usually consult with only serpentine races. Chinese dragons are capable of shape shifting and are honestly on the divine scale, but their seldom evil, so we'll probably have to make up one, but given their mass power, intelligence, and longevity, along with a long history of dragon human conflict it would seem natural that one would be the mastermind behind the organization/syndicate. Unless you have a better Idea.

Oh, also, some of the creatures DO fall into normal categories like reptile, mammal, whatever, but if they're a mix of two or more natures (like human and animal, or various animals), they could be:
Therianthrope: i.e. werecreatures, avians, centaurs, satyrs, mermaids, tritones, etc. Monster: i.e. sphinx, chimera, Ammut, etc. Half-Breed: Dhampir, Half-Were, Half-Elf, etc.

How is a mermaid/centaur/satyer a Therianthrope?
And monster is a bit general, don't you think? Half-Breed sounds good though.

Because their a mix of two creatures and a merrow can turn into a human anyway.
Replace the word monster with Chimera= since their a patchwork of different animals. I agree
