We need Jester here to start next Arc, and we don't know when he will be back.

We need him for the next arc, but we can still continue the story in the meantime. We don't always have to have one main goal at all times. We can go about our day to day hero activities.

Why not? If you have money, you have the ability to upgrade, and make repairs, or buy less-sucky tech from the get-go.
