Kinetics: Telekinesis (TK) and its subset TK Blasting, low-grade Pyrokinesis (PK).
Telekinesis is the ability to use one's psionic energy to manipulate objects without physically touching them. Generally, the object's mass and the delicacy of the attempted action are what increase mental strain. It's easy to make a baseball swing around, but it's harder to control a pencil into making a detailed drawing---and also harder to swing around a big table.
TK Blasting is a specialization of normal TK. If TK is like having hands that reach beyond you, TK Blasting is like having one hell of a fist. The size, force, and distance of the attack increase mental strain. TKB trades versatility for power.
Pyrokinesis is more an add-on power---it's very low-level overall. It would take years of heavy practicing to get it up to a really good level, and by then you're mostly consigned to being even more of a one-trick pony than somebody who deals only in TK Blasting.

Sentipathics: Telepathy (TP), Empathy (EP), Clairsentience (CS) etc.
Telepathy is the ability to interact with others' minds. The easiest thing to do is to convey a mental message to somebody who is willing to hear it. Listening to their mind can be a bit harder. Messing with minds is harder still. Distance, complexity of action, and subject's resistance factor into the strain involved. Oh, and they're more receptive to communication with people's Astral Projections.
Empathy is the ability to interact with others' emotions. This includes "seeing" emotions as "auras" and influencing others' emotions. It also includes psychometry, which allows the user to learn knowledge from an object because of the emotional environment-thingy the object has been in.
Clairsentience is the ability to perceive things "beyond". This includes sensing psionic activity, looking into future/past/distant events, etc. Time/space "distance" and how clear you try to "see" factors into strain.

Metacreatives: Psi-Illusion (PI), Psi-Construction (PC)
Psi-Illusion is the ability to use psionic energy to create illusions. The more complex and large they are, the harder it is. Making illusions make sound is pretty hard. Illusions are intangible. PI users also can see the fakeness of illusions depending on the relative abilities of the illusion-maker and the one seeing it. A newbie won't fool a master, but a master could fool a newbie.
Psi-Construction is the ability to use psionic energy to form temporary solid objects. These objects usually are transparent and glowy. The mental strain involved depends on the size and complexity (and number) of objects, but also is influenced by strain on the objects themselves. If you make a PC-ball and hit a guy really hard with it, it's generally easier to let it dissipate and make a new one. Or if you put up a PC-wall, it'll get tough to maintain if a bunch of people are hitting it.

Psychophysicals: Astral Projection (AP) and Psychometabolism (PM)
Astral Projection is leaving your body temporarily and sending out your psyche. The user goes into a sort of trance, so their body is basically asleep. Your psyche can see and hear; more advanced and strenuous is the ability to communicate with others through your projection. What's really hard is brief possession of people. Oh, and you can interact normally with other people's projections. It is easier to communicate with not-projection people who are asleep and/or telepaths.
Psychometabolism is basically using psionic energy to interact with bodies---namely enhancement and healing. An MB user can juice themselves up for a while to be harder/faster/stronger/etc and heal wounds. For enhancement, the strength and duration of the effect is what decides the strain. For healing, it depends on the number and severity of the wounds.

My character had 80% Clairsentience 20% Psychometabolism. He could see the past, present and future to a degree. Made him a bit of a rude know-it-all.

I will no longer waste time or accumulate more mental stress from this conversation. and so I am dropping it. From now on I will treat all things in this forum as they are with the respect they deserve, and I will respond to all things in kind. For now the discussion is dropped, and hopefully it will never resurface.
