The Kethencian College of Magic RP (Part 3)

[Philote]

"For study or for your famous book weapon?" Zauber asks as he sits down with Eric

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Yes!" Billy chips, resting himself against a wall. Though seemingly completely at ease, he keeps himself tense for action at any moment. "Also, I supposed carrying all the extra weight around would make me stronger."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"It's time!" The headmaster suddenly announced. All traces of his relaxed air had dissipated

"Split up into teams of two." The headmaster began before dozens of mirror copies of himself flickered into exsistence.

"...and pick a copy. Your training starts right now."

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Asoka quickly finds Piper and nods at one of the duplicates, "Do you want to use a spell on it first or shall I?"

[Philote]

"Are you sure we're supposed to fight them?" Zauber asks "They might simply lead us to the training grounds."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Let's all hope for the best." Billy says, as he and Gob pair off in front of the headclone.

[Philote]

"Good Luck everyone" Zauber says finally before leading Eric over to the right most image to wait cautiously for what was to happen.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Alright Mr. Headmaster." Billy said, gulping. "Let's see what I can do."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

The Headmaster Duplicates silently motion for each of their charges to follow them. They lead each group to a different area of the College.

(The Headmaster clones will henceforth referred to as The Headmaster in each instance)

Billy & Gob:

The Headmaster leads Billy and Gob to one of the many towers that populate the college. He opens the door to the stairwell and proceeds inside. Instead of heading up, he presses a small stone in the wall. There is a deep rumble and a new stairwell is revealed as the walls shift. The stairwell leads down into the dark. The headmaster leads them in silence to the bottom of the stairs where the floor is replaced with moist, loose soil. As thier eyes adjust to the dark, a vast underground chamber can be seen.

It is filled with graves.

"Welcome to the Undertomb. This is where the Top necromancers of Kethencia study and it will be you're proving ground. Any questions before we begin?"

Asoka & Piper:

The Headmaster leads the two girls further back into the dining hall to a set of oaken doors that seemed to have only recently appeared. He pushes open the door to reveal a large, high ceiling room filled with 5 foot long alternating squares of obsidian and alabaster. Scattered about the room are Golem-like figures, similar to chess pieces.

"Welcome to the Court. This is a training ground of my own design. It will teach you to be a perfect balance."

He eyes Asoka, "You are too rigid and set in your obedience to your military training."

He turns to Piper "...and You are too reckless in your use of magic. It is no accident that you are here together. Now.....any questions before we start?"

Zauber & Eric:

The Headmaster leads the two boys to a part of the college that seems almost abandoned. It becomes hard for the two to remember the path the took to get there moments after they traveled it. The passages ways seem to stretch and spin everywhere.

The headmaster suddenly stops and faces them.

"Welcome to the Labyrinth. A maze that will guide to your own paths. It will also serve as your personal battle field. Any questions before we start?"

Tibbs:

The Headmaster leads Tibbs to a strange room filled with seemingly endless piles of junk. He centers Tibbs in the middle of the rooms. The junk piles seem to encroach upon him in the gloom of the room.

"Welcome to the Attic. A mental training ground I think you need. Any questions before we start?"

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Billy stands stock still, and for a minute the only sound that can be heard is a barley contained, steady "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" escaping from his clenched teeth.

This was amazing.

Everything was amazing.

After the minute passes Billy suddenly shutters and seems to regain his sense. "I'm sorry sir, I seem to have zoned out a little for a moment. So, what makes these people special that they aren't buried in the aboveground cemetery?"

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Asoka frowns, "What do you mean sir by too rigid?"

[Philote]

"So we just need to find our way out of here?" Zauber asks as he looks over his shoulder, viewing the path that had led the three of them to this point. To his disappointment, despite just having traveled the hallway, it seemed to not match any memory of the way they had just recently traveled.

The headmaster's words "your personal battle field" loomed in his head but he felt a small point of confidence in remember that he had already navigated the labyrinth of the forbidden section.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Billy & Gob:

"The headmaster chuckles, "Too be perfectly honest there's no real difference between where the bodies are buried. However, only those who request to be buried here are. This ground has been used by hundreds of Necromancers throughout the years and it's a bit of an honor amongst some to be buried here."

Asoka:

"You rely to much on what you've been taught. Lessons learned are only as good as the situation they've been taught in. You are a mage of fire, fire does not conform to any size or shape. It moves with a mind of its own, chaotic and free. if you want to harness the true nature of fire, you must learn how to unlearn."

Zauber & Eric:

"Exactly, but you will find that this place is much more that some magic maze. It is a trial that conforms to you. You must dig deep to if you wish to succeed. Good Luck..."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"What should I be expecting?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Why don't you ask them?" The Headmaster inquires as he indicates several graves begin to open. The forms of Mages of all races were rising from the ground. They gazed at Billy unblinking and spoke in unison.

"Are you worthy to command us Necromancer?"

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"No!" Billy calls out over the group of them. "No one is worthy to command the dead. But I would request your help."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"A wise notion young necromancer, but do you understand its consequences? We are the legions of the dead. We rise to aid, but we must be lead to do so. If you wish to add our power to your own and use our assistance, you must learn to lead."

The many skeletons and bodies move close to Billy, walking slowly and calmly forward.

"And to lead you must take responsibility for your actions as a leader. Young Necromancer, do you accept the burden of our fates should the legions of dead aid you?"

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

"Learn how to unlearn?!? B-but that's impossible! Once you've learned something, it's a part of you! How do you unlearn something?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"That...is what you'll have discover if you wish to reach your full potential as a Fire Mage. The trial ahead of you will bring you to understand if you let it."

[Philote]

Eric was already rushing off before Zauber had a chance to reply, looking for ways to execute his tricks in this strange new environment.

"Thank you Headmaster, I'll try to live up to your expectations" Zauber says as he turns to catch up with Eric.
