And that would cause mass panic, leading to the evacuation of the country or infected area, by a mass of the populace, some of which are most likely infected to begin with...that in addition to the viral nests that schools and hospitals are these days......then again perhaps that owould be the saving factor of humanity. ....if in an environment like school, you were continually made subject to virus after virus being in a state of complete Semi illness, soon you would devolope a resistance to almost every type of illness in the area, and your immune system would be better through the practice....

Genetically altered super virus made for war gets accidentally released.

Only a few people immune to the pandemic survive, radically altered.

Other than some paranoid people who sealed themselves off in dome cities.

Yes, antibiotic resistance. But there is no proof that it is happening on the same scale as Jester is saying it is.

It doesn't sound even remotely close to the scale of viral and bacterial adaptation. There are so many different strands of so many different pathogens, that it's not even funny, but that's not to say that a combo of antibiotics, or other vaccine methods can't contain or handle them.

Hence, this discussion is not valid. No part of his incredibly paranoid rant can be proven or supported to the scale he proposes. Not to mention, it's not even paranormal in nature.

Okay I can't find a good site because their buried under thousands of pagges of idiotic speculation, but if you actually look up the processes that bacteria go through in exchanging and absorbing DNA, and couple it with the predictions for human population density on the idea that there won't be a global apocalypse within the next fifty years, it's actually a pretty solid concept.

........Okay in that case i'll get rid of the seriousness of the tone and turn it into the probability of a zombie apocalypse by having a highly mutant strain of bacterium that infects the brain killing off most brain cells and replacing them causing mutations in the...darn it I forgot what it's called, the little part of the brain which controls hormone reactions such as hunger....Leading to a constant state of hunger while continually integrating random strains of DNA into the infected body system that it would absorb through said feasting, resulting in random mutation.

I think it's due. This topic, even if it HAD some scientific validity, does not belong in a discussion about the supernatural, the paranormal, or the otherwise unexplained.

So, yes, I am bothered that this is being discussed in a place where I set aside specifically to discuss the validity or invalidity of things which are superhuman or supernatural in nature.

I mean, c'mon, we all know what can be called supernatural, superhuman, paranormal or otherworldly, and this ain't it.
