Interesting. To answer your question I would say that this fog is some sort of meta created chemical or substance that triggers the part of the brain which regulates sleep, either that or some form of magic or substance that carries supernatural energy that provokes sleep.

Well, as you appear to dislike supernatural simply because it's science has yet to merge with our own I would say the edges if the city. What direction was the wind blowing when it was first reported? It should gave been blown around the edges and then skunk inward.

I would assume that the fog would be lightest around the outskirts. While it did originate there there is nothing paticularly large to block the winds which buffet the city, why do you think everything important is in the center. As such I find it unlikely that falling should rank high on our list of concerns.

Ahead of me I see a figure moving that I recognize. I dismiss the thought that this character might be the source of the fog, because I had just met the fellow earlier this week.

"You're the construction worker, aren't you? It seems like you're unaffected by the fog as well."
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

As Marv continues to stumble through the fog he travels deeper into the city. He begins to notice that people everywhere have fallen asleep.

"This is so eerie"

Suddenly, Marv hears voice in the fog. They are muffled and he can't make them out. It could be anyone, but if they aren't affected by the fog, then they probably have something to do with it.

She did not trust this fog.

Eva had been... practicing with her powers by walking on air around some of the buildings near her. The rapidly growing fog had soon caught her attention but she had dismissed it as nothing more than the common weather of a flying city. When people began to sleep, her attention returned.

"Where, oh where, is someone awake?" Eva muttered.

A few moving figures far below attracted her attention.

"What have we here?"

"....and the rest of the group arrives."I think to mysef looking out the edge of the window. "I don't have time for this, I need ot fin d the source of the fog before it reaches the command center of the city." I edge away from the window and jump to the top of the building which has window set up on  the roof. I unclasp the hinge and make my way towards the top of the building behind the pub.  "Okay the fog houldn't have been able to spread that far from it's orignal point just yet, If I can find the point of greatest density, I should be able to pinpoint whoever the heck caused this."  I hang onto the edges of the windows and swing myself onto the roof, "...Ah crabopple"

Several miles away a gigantic Pillar of fog sprouts out amid the other buildings coninually spewing out thick grey clouds onto the city. "...I think that's where  the game store is, or was...Oh well time to get going." I sprint off the top of the building and begin making my way towards the column of fog.

I stiffen as I sense the presence move away. That way I shout. "Amplify" I say addressing my body. I jump onto the building and follow the figure moving to the thickest part of the fog.

We follow the figure until we say a massive plume of of fog. It appears that he located the fog. Come, let's introduce ourselves.

"...and now I'm being followed. Great just great, I don't have time to baby sit fledgling heroes." I manifest my mask and turn in midair, simultaneously stamping the found with my right foot and errecting a wall on the edge of the building just before falling off the side headfirst. I flip in midair, and start heading for the back alleys, continually making my way towards the game factory.

On my way I see a sleeping person wearing the uniform for the company, along with the access card, "Well that's going to be usefull.

Ah, it appears he prefers to work alone. Well too bad. I slam my hand into the wall with my amplified strength to create a dent and begin to scale it. I hop over and continue following the mysterious figure.

"Not bad, but I can't risk being in a group atleast not jsut yet." I sprint forward a bit faster making my way towards the street, just far enough for them to loose sight of me in the fog for an instant.
............................................................................................................................................

The group of heroes chase the figure through the fog catching sight of him again, he seems to have suddenly stopped in the middle of the road. The Authority user walks up to him and grabs onto his shoulder about to introduce himself when.

"Snort, aGarl;gna; fwiaso[ghk;..zzz...grapaslk."' It's the unconscious worker from before stripped of his ID and supported in the middle of the steet by a thin pillar of creation matter.

"What the...."

"Ducktwork, great, not as roomy as the surface of the city, but faster at least, now let's see if i can actually avert this situation."

Meh, I got his profile. As long as the city has records of him I can match him up unless he's managed to stay off of the grid all of his life, which he probably has. However, we have a more important matter at hand. With that I jump up and head towards the pillar of fog, no doubt where the masked figure could be heading as well.

Re: SSH:FLBN : the start of it all

GreenDay
I notice the fog has begun to thicken. I wonder how long I've been here. Stupid broken watch. I turn towards the window to see a giant pillar that is spewing fog everywhere.

"Hmmmm, I guess that's where the fog came from." I also notice some of the metas I met earlier. I form a disc of the microscopic clouds substance, and I use it to fly towards the others.

"Hello. Anyone know what this fog was caused by?" I say while taking a sample of it and putting it in the pocket of my lab coat.
