Well, enlightenment would be that you've gained your powers through understanding some fundamental aspect of the universe. You know, some "meditate on a mountaintop for 100 years, and you to can live off dew and leaves."
Fusion would be someone becoming one with some other creature or person.

Alright, sounds good. I was thinking them out wrong originally, but I see how they will fit in with the others now.
One more to go.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |
Right, let me think.
While I'm thinking, what the difference between origin and heritage?

Origin relies on how you came into being or some fundamental event that existed at the very beginning of obtaining power.
Heritage relies more on race, specifically what those before you did and not necessarily what you did yourself. A specific point in the past versus the entity of the related timeline leading up to the present.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. How about Location: If divine is someone gaining power from a god, then Location would be gaining power from a certain place. Like Earthbound, and the places you have to find there. Some place is channeling itself into you.

I have Location in slot D already

I am so bad at lists.
Maybe split Divine and Aspect? Getting powers from a god and getting powers from an aspect of the universe are different enough to warrant two slots.

If we are talking about gods as in beings such as those in LoC, aren't they basically the same things as aspects?
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |
I'd define them differently. A god like in LoC can claim dominion over something, but Aspects should be the spirit of the thing itself. Let me put it this way: without a god of swords, no one would have specific responsibility over swords. Without an Aspect of swords, there would be no swords. There would be bits of metal pounded into the shape of a sword, but you would not be holding a sword. There is no fundamental "swordishness" to what you are wielding.
Am I explaining this clearly at all, because I don't feel like I am.

The way I'm seeing it is that they both fundamentally represent and are tied to a specific idea though that they operate differently. The gods could take on more than one domain but the domains could exist before they were claimed. Aspects would be the origin and end of a specific idea, but they could only take on one domain. In both cases you would be drawing power from a being that was the fundamental representation of an idea so I do not think that they would need to be separated.

Basically, Domains are modes of controlling existing subjects, objects, concepts and events. And the Aspect is the existing subject, object, concept or event itself; the thing over which a deity may have a domain over, right?
Like, for example, the Aspect of the moon exists, but no deity currently takes domain over it. Is that it? If so, then, while I think it's an interesting idea, I don't think we should overly complicate things with things that come too close to splitting hairs.

I think you're right on most parts except in this case an Aspect would be its own type of sentient creature since we are not talking about LoC but just using it as an example.

I think Wulf is onto something. There's really no difference from getting your powers from a god of death and big capital D The Grim Reaper Death.
Let's see, I think I remember a comic called Medaka Box where the first set of bad guys were powered by their own weakness. Then again, that comic was a complete parody of every Shounen convention ever. How about Life? Cast from hip points stuff?

Yes, yes, it was. It was quite amusing too, especially when the Medaka's sister made her own power.

Do I not have some sort of lifeforce type source already? I thought I did, let me check.

I hardly remember it, I read through it when I was home sick. All I really remember was liking the guy who smiles all the time. I was convinced for a while it was an elaborate fever dream.
So that's actually how it worked? They really did suck so much it made them powerful?

Wait, what are you referring to now? The Graeciourums? Those are the only things I remeber that stole energy from other things.

I think they were called the Minus Classroom or the Negative Classroom or something. They were, like, under the school. I think their whole thing was that they were so worthless it somehow wrapped around back to powerful or something.

So I have Spiritual as a source already, should I add Life Force as a source in addition to this or are they too similar?

I thought spiritual was communing with the spirits of somewhere. You know, shamanistic stuff.
I imagined life was that you were literally burning years off your life to fuel your power. The brightest stars burn half as long and all that.
