Hm...perhaps. It does rather pique my interest.

And creating one for somebody else, in comparison to hundreds for myself...can't hurt.

I forgot to mention that Maiden's Vow of Honor in its Released State can neutralize all Nature magic/powers, can channel and boost my powers, and is indestructible.

All three of the schools have teachers, who would only be at the missions as supervisors. The supervisors are only NPC's at the beginning and end of each mission. The supervisors will stop the mission if the students cannot take down a foe or solve a puzzle of some kind and call the mission a fail.

D&D Idea - Serrians

Zaleramancer
Administrator
This post was updated on .
In reply to this post by Zaleramancer
Serrians
A tall and rather remote race of humanoids inhabiting the subterranean continent of <Name Pending>.

Appearance

The Serrians are exceedingly tall, standing around seven to eight feet tall, with a slim or sometimes gaunt figure. Most are described as having haughty or aloof features. They love luxurious clothing, and will always dress in the most opulent clothing and jewelry available to them. Silk is particularly sought after, and jewelry made from the crystalline substances common to <Name Pending> is also adored. Serrians tend to wear rather concealing clothing, as even the muted light their home gives them bothers their pale skin.

Physiology

Serrians are well noted for their amazing flexibility and climbing ability. They are capable of squeezing through narrow gaps, though most would consider doing so to be undignified. They do not so much climb things as glide up them with a kind of speed a monkey would envy. Despite this, they are rather physically weak. Used to the somewhat muted lights of their crystal sky, extremely bright lights bother their sensitive eyes and skin.

Personality

All Serrians are obsessed with appearing dignified. They will go to absurd lengths to appear calm, self-possessed and put-together under any circumstances. Nothing- Not death threats, natural disasters or even divine intervention will make them loose their composure. Serrians tend to be fond of predictable daily patterns. It's not that they can't improvise, it's just they prefer being able to know what they should be doing at all times.

Culture

Serrian culture is arranged somewhat like a pyramid. At the top you have the person with the most political, social, economic, and often magical power. Such a person is Emperor, High Priest and Celebrity all merged. Below them is various officials, priests, advisers, entertainers, land owners and magic users. After them comes the moderately wealthy, socially popular, merchants and adventurers. Then, at the bottom of the pyramid, come the farmers, lesser merchants and menial laborers.

Most of a Serrian's time is spent planning how to advance to the next rank in the pyramid. This is often the source for their desire to seem dignified and composed at all times, as loss of control often means loss of status.

Serrians are excellent architects, able to construct stone buildings without motar. So well build are these that many can stand for hundreds of years with no maintenance. Cities of the Serrians are often towering affairs, with the higher ranks living at the top.

Would you like hypothetical stats?

Looking good so far, hypothetical stats would also be nice.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

+2 Dex, -2 Str
Medium: As Medium creatures, Serrians have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
A base land speed of 30 feet and a climb speed of 20 feet.
Low-Light Vision: A Serrian can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. He retains the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
+2 bonus to Climb, Escape Artist, Knowledge (Nobility and Royalty)
Ultimate Composure:  All Serrians have a +2 Bonus against Enchantment (Compulsion) spells. In addition, any Serrian under the effects of a Charm, Suggestion or Geas spell treats any action they view as undignified as if it were self-harmful.*
Automatic Languages: Common, Undercommon. Bonus Languages: Gnome, Dwarven, Draconic, Elvish, Terran.
LA: 0 (I suppose )

*They would no more do a chicken dance than they would stab themselves.

Seems good.

So under composure they will hurt themselves instead of doing the command?

What does the LA: 0 mean?

No, look at the Charm Person spell. See how it says that people under it won't do anything suicidal or self-harming? For a Serrian, anything undignified is treated as if it were self harmful.

Just like you can't use Charm Person to make someone stab themselves, you can't use it to make a Serrian do something that would make them look silly.

LA is Level Adjustment. It basically bumps up level to balance out how powerful a race is.

Like a Pixie has an LA of 4, so a Pixie rogue 1 would count as a level five character.

LA + Class levels = Acutal level for exp purposes.

And LA: 0 would mean they have no Level Adjustment, like the normal races.
