Might I suggest renaming the thread? Not much point in having a RP Comments and RP Message Board when one could be renamed more specifically for ESRP
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

I planned on doing precisely that.

I think I'll change my character to Amy. I like her power, I want to see how many times I can solve a problem in a completely disgusting way. Plus I'm a worm who's incapable of fully utilizing Wayne's ability.

 Amy? Amy Armanlag?

She wasn't intended to be a major character, or even a major secondary character. She was meant to show up in a couple 'episodes'. I don't have every inch of this story planned out, but some things I know for sure, and that's when a character is meant for a main role, supporting, antagonist, anti-hero, cameo, one-shot and/or cannon-fodder.

Not to mention, I've read your stuff. You're perfectly capable of utilizing Wayne's powers to a believable extent. Wayne isn't a physics genius. Sure enough, something of a Macgyver with his equipment and powers, but if anybody is capable of pulling that off here, it's you.

True, you have every right to play Amy when the time comes for her to show up, but it's actually Wayne who gets us started off after the introduction, and he's really one of the most genre savvy folks in the story. In order of Genre Savvy, I'd say:

1. Tessa
2. Wayne
3. Flores/Nadia
4. Fitz
5. Jack
6. Pierce
7. Ivan

(Hm...still wondering how I should include Ben, Byne and Francesca.)

I do hope you've reconsidered your anxiety about Wayne, GV.

Oh, hey, have I let you guys know about my plan to do B-stories along with the main progression of Evolutionist's Stone?

Cause I think that would be a good thing to do. I really want numerous stories to develop from this mythos. It would be excellent to see this extend into a decent sized universe of its own, in a way that's not purely linear. And also, this way, it could allow for alternate realities and whatnot, and you all don't have to worry about joining the side stories unless you want to. I mean, I've learned from my mistakes in the last ESRP incarnation, so I hopefully won't have to worry about the story progressing to fast. I'll just put in the extra time and effort, and we can have ourselves a nice little accomplishment here.

What do you guys think?

I like that plan.

Good, seeing as how it was also your plan some time back (I tried to make good on it before, but this time, I hope it's better executed). Naturally, you guys can chime in where you please (within reason). Just don't start a whole new subplot , unless things are such smooth sailing that a third seems easy enough to handle (I'd like a min. of 2 going on at any given time, and a max of 3). And if it becomes the case that three seems doable, of course, we'll first have to discuss it in the comments thread. Not specific details, of course; just that you had a new idea for a subplot.

Re: RP Message Board

So, on a scale of 1-10, how frustrated, bothered, annoyed or unhappy would folks be if I borrowed sequences from ESRP's first incarnation to incorporate into the new story? I mean, I wouldn't use any parts that I didn't write (despite me really loving 667's work, and wishing he would come back), but a couple Crowning Moments of Awesome happened in the last one, and I'd like to see them done much better justice in a better-executed incarnation of the story.

This story, for all intents and purposes, would only be the loosest interpretation of the previous story. A couple key things here and there, but otherwise, entirely of our collaborative making. The starting point, and the progression of the story wouldn't even be the same.

What do you think?

I've lost interest in ESRP. Its no fault of yours Wulf its just that as a repeat RP I don't really feel like I'm a part of the thing. I wasn't a participant in the first and second (in my mind) is basically just a rewrite of the first. i feel like I'm trying to play some other person's character and its off-putting to me

This post was updated on .
That's fine. Nobody's really been interested in it (or in some cases, not present even to participate) other than Phi and GV. Everybody else, apparently, has just been scared off or whatever by some invisible, intangible and basically nonexistent expectations that they imagine I'm pushing off on them. I said from the get-go, that basically, I only had certain events that I liked within the previous story (we deal with certain overlords, have certain powers, etc), but for the most part, it would be a new story that you and I work together to tell. Yet that message seems not to have gotten across, and some folks still think that I have some ulterior motive, or that they're just pawns or puppets in my retelling of the exact same story as before.

It's cool. I think I'll just cancel it as an RP, and maybe try to trudge through it as my own series of short stories.

I had a feeling this would happen again, but I didn't listen to that feeling. That's my own fault.

The main reason I have a disconnect with it is because I was never really a part of it's conception, nor of the character I am playing. Though I do enjoy the ideas and setting, I find it hard to connect with characters I had no real part in developing.

Yeah, I understand. I really just meant for them to be templates for you guys to play with, sort of like with the Lords of Creation Beta, where you do whatever you want with a preset template of powers and appearance. I guess that just sort of backfired...

The enemy aren't really responding at the moment. Nobody's exactly available to update them as to the bad news for their side.

Trust me, though, you're still not in the clear. I've made absolutely certain of that.

Momentum has reached about dang-near absolute zero in the Forum. If you could put out a couple posts into the threads of your choosing, to help jumpstart them again, that would be great.
