I just mean that someone has to make the thread and set it up....from there we can all govern it.

Re: RP Message Board

Gentleman Vaultboy
What's the premise?

It's got to involve an Apocalypse, and apparently superpowers. Anything beyond that?

Based on the last ones? That's the entirety of it. Survive an apocalypse with superpowers...

Any preference for what kind? Do the superpowers have to be connected in any way to it?

You know...I'm not actually sure what the Superpower have to do with it. The Apocalypse RPs were fairly simple...no real plot and a simple basis on which to act.

As for the apocalypse, I personally think it should provide a real and present danger..

Re: RP Message Board

When you say clear and present danger, you mean something that is always looming and threatening?

You tried doing that with zombies, I think you said. It apparently didn't work?

Yeah, something that can provide conflict rather than just a setting.

The zombies did not work because some people picked powers that made them practically gods and they just snapped their fingers and wiped out a horde. Wulf and I agree that powers will have to be toned way down this time around.

Re: RP Message Board

Gentleman Vaultboy
I posted this idea earlier, I don't know if anyone saw it.

Vault wrote
In the United States alone 2,300 people on average go missing every day. But of these 2,300 only a handful truly vanish off the face of the Earth, never to be seen by anyone again.

-Molly Bish: 16 year old lifeguard, last seen by her mother dropping her off at her work.

-The Springfield Three: Stacy McCall, Suzanne Streeter, and Suzannes mother Sherrill Leavitt, vanished from Leavitts home leaving all their valuables.

-The Beaumont Children: Jane, Arnna, and Grant Beaumont, last seen on Glenelg Beach in 1966.

It's just part of the background noise of daily life. Can't help it, in a large society some people are just going to fall through the cracks. It's sad, sure, but nothing to be personally invested in.

Except now they can't find anybody. People can't get in contact with friends. Husbands wake up in empty beds. Children come to school and their teacher never shows up.  Mothers return home to find their children gone, the babysitter swearing she only took her eyes off them for an instant. A stranger will turn a corner right in front of you and just not be there when you round it.

And it just keeps happening, all over the world.

And no one is sure how to stop it.
I think I even have a way to tie it in to people developing superpowers.

A way to tie it in with superpowers? Do tell.

Re: RP Message Board

Unfortunately, it ties in with the philosophy of one of the major factions in sort of a spoilerish way.

If I'm running this, I need something from you guys though. Name, Profile, Power, and how you knew or forced your way into the inner circle of R.J. Dewitt, the eccentric survivalist nut-job with whom you've been sharing the last 8 months in the fallout shelter in his backyard.

Power strength will be increasing over the course of the game, so start with something mid range.

Hm. Well, let's see who all is for you running the deal. If it's you, then count me in for sure.

So we're doing the alien apocalypse? And our characters are hiding in the bunker from the invasion? And we don't know where our powers come from yet, right?

Any power that we choose?
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Re: RP Message Board

No, I had an idea where people are just straight up vanishing. The bunker seemed like a good idea because whatever was causing it probably wouldn't be able to get into such a place.

It seemed like a good idea.

So, how would the story develop in a bunker?

Spoilers: You don't stay in the bunker.

Well, I guess you could. Y'know, if you wanted to. But I'd advise against that.

How's this....simple so far, but I can elaborate if necessary.

Marv probably wrote
Benjamin James Archer

Once a expert in communication systems Ben offered his services to R.J. Dewitt when the word got out that he had a shelter. Ben, a cautious man by nature, couldn't afford not to join the semi-famous survivalist as the fear of what was happening to all the missing people crept into Ben's mind.

Slowly Ben is developing a control over the electromagnetic field. In short, he can control magnetism.

Power Range Suggestions?

Pick something relatively mid tier, but with the potential to be completely overpowered if it was powerful enough.

Good, good.

For clarification, it's not a very big bunker. Just enough for you guys and R.J. You could be his friend. He could invite you because he thinks you'll be useful. You can trick your way in. You could pay him. Things like that.
