Re: ...Power basis.

Gentleman Vaultboy
Reality Benders are characterized by being able to shape the world around them according to their whims: alter things, create something from nothing, cause effects spontaneously, make the impossible into reality.

It can't do any of that. It can, however, use it's vast collection to mimic these sort of abilities. The power isn't his, but he has so much and has been around for so long I like to think he can stand toe to toe with beings like you guys. Well, that and the pretty much total invulnerability.

So I see that you mentioned that his prime body, or at least original body, is the body of the last of the race who made him. Does this race differ from humans in any important way or were they simply more advanced?

You also mentioned that he had security systems along side his invulnerability. Does he have any special abilities or powers alongside what he has collected?

Does he have to use the items he has collected exactly as they were originally, or does he "own" each individual part that makes them up, allowing him to combine them as he thinks fit?

Are there any noticeable things that he has collected? Things that stand apart from the mass amount of exotic items he has obtained that really describes the upper levels of his abilities?

Could he update the schematics of himself / the original form of the vault or can he not be changed (Going with the invulnerable design thing)?
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Does anyone have any questions or observations?

I would like to discuss/describe more but I'd have to know what needs to be known.

Not in any important ways other than great magical prowess. It's the kid, by the way. The little grey haired kid.

The security only activates if something gets inside of him. It's mostly confined to there. The security was probably much more effective when Vault wasn't bigger on the inside. Mythic status; when you are rumored to contain "all the treasures of the universe" you gain the capacity to do so.

He can combined them in any way except for using them in conjunction, but it can use every individual aspect as if it were a separate item. For example, to move around he uses the Form of someone within it. If it wants to know something he can use the Knowledge contained in a book. If a weapon has a magical ability though, it prefers to just use the weapon. No telling where the ability could go without the thing used to channel it, after all.

The collection is so vast and eclectic that nothing really "stands apart" from the rest of it. When it comes to stuff that really deadly, it prefers not to use them because it could damage the planet it's visiting. It mostly just likes dropping heavy things on people. For example, there's this one ting called Lucifer Omega. Mementic Virus, very nasty. Hearing the name or knowing even one of the symptoms, even if that symptom is in the context of a completely different disease, ensures infection. 99.99999999999999999% fatality rate. One of the final symptoms is that it slowly transforms the victims body into salt.

The problem with complete invulnerability is that it's also completely static. Unchangeable.

Verdammt.

Has he ever though of locking his own mythic status within himself, or himself within himself through some force of paradox?

You are severely underestimating the strength of this vault. For example, one of the earlier symptoms was whooping cough. While Lucifer Omega was active every single person who developed a whooping cough, for any reason, contracted Lucifer Omega because that was one of it's symptoms.  And once one person on a planet caught it....

But, it's locked away now. You can know all you want about it now.

One might effectively "kill" it, and the other would probably tear a whole in the fabric of creation.

SPL Philote V4.0
Philote wrote
Philote: Data Manipulator
Home World: Aeon. Its star is similar to VY Canis Majoris and it has the same planet to star size ratio as Earth.
Race: Correnian: Much like humans, but without limits to what their stats can reach.

Terms:
Philote (Particle): Subatomic particle that is more data than matter. There is one philote for each point of data in an object. Such as a philote for the heart that controls all the philotes for the objects that make up the heart.
Philotics: The study of Philotes and Cores.
Core: An advanced philote that joins with a Correnian’s soul. The basis of their power to manipulate other philotes.
Core User: A Correnian who has a Core and the powers that goes along with a core.
Overdrive: A specific release of power that goes above a person’s normal ability. Usually activated under extreme emotion and reactivated after extensive training.
Elemental Planes: The ten infinite planes that exist in the same dimension as Aeon. Fire, Ice, Electricity, Water, Earth, Wind, Metal, Growth, Light, and Dark.
Prime Elementals: The elementals born during the time before the elemental planes were split apart.
Correnite: A substance indistinguishable from crystal until it is stimulated with energy. Can enhance or hurt a Core User’s power and is often used within the higher sciences of Aeon. Comes from the elemental forming the moon.
Symbiote: A nonsentient black morphic creature that comes from the elemental forming the sun. Symbiotes are able to combine with other nonsentient life. Very hostile.
Haven: Inter-dimensional Hub. Endless plane with a mansion in the center and gates rotating around.
Gate: A portal between a dimension and Haven in the form of a door.
Gate Guardian: Non-sentient creature designed to protect the gates of Haven. Each guardian is based on the prime energies of the dimension it is designed to guard.

Prime Elementals:
World-Tree: One of the first three Prime Elementals that held the power of Thematic Variance. Was trapped as the celestial body, Aeon, and is the reason for the presence of Cores on the planet.
Dragon: One of the first three Prime Elementals that held the power of Life and Death, though the power of Life was rejected and taken up by the World-Tree. Was trapped as the celestial body of the Sun and is the reason for the presence of Symbiotes.
Crystal-Woman: One of the first three Prime Elementals that held the power of Change. Was trapped as the celestial body of the Moon and is the reason for the presence of Correnite.
Dreamer: The last of the Prime Elementals. The Dreamer tried to escape the banishment of the Elemental Planes from the natural world but failed. The Dreamer is responsible for the creation of the Ark and the Planar Schematic.

Items:
Core: Reality bending organ that gives me my control over Philotes. Sphere inside my chest but I can stream energy from it to form wings.
Ten Gates: Gates that are a part of my core that are connected to a personal version of the elemental planes. Can be opened and closed to release power.
Halo: My true sword, made of blank Philotes. A Pure White Null-Data Blade.
Eyes: There is a ring on the inner and outer part of my iris. The outer locates Philotes and the inner decodes them.
Prime Elemental’s Energy: The three Prime Elementals whose bodies formed the heavenly bodies of my realm. I absorbed their lost energies which became the fuel for my Ultimate Overdrives.
Guardian Gates: Guardians I command that protect and represent the powers from different realities. The Guardian for Aeon acts as a second intellect to manage my powers.
SPL Pseudo Cores: Fake Cores developed using Aeon’s Core Guardian’s power to operate the bodies I use for my adventures with the SPL members.
Sol’s Matrix: After recombining with Sol, my body has become a matrix of Sol’s copied Cores.
Labyrinth Virus: A reality bending virus I developed. Whatever the Labyrinth Virus comes into contact with has its data expanded as a labyrinth until it is its own dimension. A limiter is used to focus the power.
Planar Schematic: The mote of the unfinished minor planes, every plane beside the major ten, and the designs to fulfill their potential. Thematic energy can be absorbed in or pulled out of the mote.

NB Gifts:
Miscreant Gold: Lump of Gold that Marv placed into my palm to dissolve into me, making me the Honorary Miscreant of Gold.
Orb of Miscreant Spirit Energy: “Activate it in times of need for a short burst of power. Be careful though, it will only work 10 times.”
A Button!: Will make me a full Miscreant rather than just an honorary one for exactly 24 hours and 12 seconds.
Myself’s Machine: (For Philote: I have a machine for your home planet. It has two uses:
1) Produces a chip to receive it's secondary effect.
2) Enhances the power of the owner through a surgically-implanted chip. This means the closer you are to the machine, the stronger your powers are.)

NB Gifts Given:
1.Marv’s Elemental Eye Plane Portal
2.Guardian Gates for fellow SPL Members, Primarily Wulf/Marv.
3.Rose King’s Shield – Artifact created using Labyrinth Virus for Vault

Ultimate Overdrives:
1. Paradiso: Combines holy energy and the energy from the bonds with my allies over my sword Halo.
2. Life: Upgraded form of Death. Allows me to restructure the code that has been broken apart into something new.
2.5 Death: I can encode something with Death, this acts like a kill command for all the Philotes in an object system, erasing an objects data.
3. Unknown Element: Also known as Gold Element or Omni Element. I create a substance that holds ever changing Data so that it can be anything at any time. I form it into a dragon to attack foes.
4. Data Beam: I open my core and send out a single charged beam of a certain data.
5. Elemental Armageddon: Creates ten spheres of condensed energy from the Elemental Planes that warp what they pass through.
6. Singularity: I compress the data of a new reality into a single Philote of Correnite then release the energy.
7. Elemental Perception: I perceive the world as only one element, allowing me to affect things as if it were that element, and having things only affect me as if they were that element.
7.5 Elemental Infusion: I infuse an object with a particular element or theme, overlaying it and causing it to damage itself. This results in something that is easier to manipulate.

Locks:
Lock of Body: When released, the power restrictions for collateral damage are removed.
Lock of Mind: When released, the power restrictions for presence are removed, causing spatial damage without power usage.
Lock of Soul: When released, the power restrictions for safety are removed, causing power feedback.

Ultimate Form:
My core opens, making my wings more prominent and the rings in my core and on my eye become more noticeable. My Skin turns pure white / silvery. My clothes turn black. My eyes get a gold shine. An aura of my Core / Ten Gates forms as a sphere around me (Soul Sphere).

Philote’s Timeline:

1. First three elementals are created, the World-Tree, the Dragon, and the Crystal-Woman
2. The World-Tree and the Dragon war over the Crystal-Woman and are imprisoned as the three major celestial bodies of the realm. Aeon (World-Tree), Sun (Dragon), Crystal-Woman(Moon)
3. The last of the Ancient Elements, the Dreamer, attempts to escape the banishment of the Elemental Planes from the natural world. The Ark is built in order to transport the Dreamer to Haven but he is unable to flee in time. The minor planes, everything besides the ten major planes, are stored within the Ark.
4. Life begins on Aeon.
5. The brother rulers “Space” and “Direction” are betrayed and imprisoned by their adviser “Mummy” in a coffin-satellite.
6. Philote is born on a spot on Aeon under the Crystal moon and above the largest branch of the World-Tree elemental in the planet's core.
7. Philote discovers powers and first Overdrive “Fire Mastery” when life is threatened in ally. Adopts the name Element.
8. Symbiotes attack Philote’s hometown but are exterminated.
9. Government captures and imprisons Philote
10. Philote and other Core Users escape, including Leech and Soul.
11. Philote forms team with other Core Users to recruit more Core Users before they are corrupted by Soul.
12. Effects of Correnite is discovered and is used by both Core Users and Government.
13. Soul is defeated and his corruption is passed onto Leech. Soul joins Philote’s team as one of its main members.
14. Government recaptures several of Philote’s main team leading to a battle where the government is overturned. Philote and his team become recognized heroes of the town.
15. Leech’s corruption is revealed. Philote’s team absorbs sacred pieces of Correnite, changing their powers, to chase after him and combat him. First form of Philote’s sword, Halo, is obtained.
16. Philote and his team chase leech across a section of the world, deal with the chaos he creates, and learn of his destination, the ark.
17. “Direction” is freed from his imprisonment and immediately revives his stronger brother “Space.” Both are dealt with by the group.
18. Leech is defeated as both groups reach the location of the ark, but he absorbs Psy and uses her power, as well as the corruption’s power, to escape off Aeon.
19. Philote’s team, now in control of the ark, uses it to escape into space to chase after Leech.
20. Philote’s team’s power furthers as a result of riding the ark into space and the group leaves their physical bodies for spirit ones. The rings on Philotes eyes form as well as his wings. Takes the name, Philote. Discovery of Cores.
21. The ark passes through the realm’s gate and enters Haven.
22. Leech releases the Uncreation from its prison within one of the gates in Haven.
23. Philote and his team split up to remove Leech’s and Uncreation’s influence in the other Gates/Realms.
24. Philote battle’s Leech as he corrupts Aeon and releases his first Major Overdrive “Elemental Armageddon” which results in the defeat of Leech and an explosion that destroys Aeon.
25. The remnants of the Prime Elementals begin to awake as a result of the explosion.
26. The World Tree Elemental’s consciousness guides Philote to defeat the remnants and absorb their power so that the three Prime Elementals can rest.
27. The World Tree Elemental’s last act is to restore Aeon to a state before Leech’s influence and Philote and a restored Psy return to Haven.
28. With Philote’s power enhanced, he makes a last stand against the Uncreation at Haven and ultimately defeats it. Final form of Philote’s sword, Halo, is obtained.
29. As a result of the battle, Sol is born from the torrent of released energies from Philote.
30. Sol attempts to take control of all realities by building a matrix from the Gates of Haven. This also results in the reactivation of the Gate Guardians.
31. Philote takes control of the Gates himself and defeats Sol, who disappears.
32. “Invincible,” a Core User who survived through Aeon’s destruction and recreation, challenges Philote to match. Philote expands his Data Manipulation and creates his Elemental Perception Ultimate Overdrive.
33. Philote discovers the SPL Universe and Aeon’s reality ultimately merges with it, along with the realities of several other powerful beings. Other Core Users are trained and brought up to higher levels of power.
34. As a representative of his universe, Philote goes on several adventures with the other SPL members.
35. A creature, known as “The Hunger,” attacks both Haven and Aeon and becomes the first creature to steal a Core.
36. “The Hunger” is defeated with the help of the SPL members and Philote’s development of his most powerful Overdrive, Paradiso.
37. Sol returns and Philote recombines with him after discovering more about his own powers, resulting in Philote evolving past all other Core Users.
38. Leech’s Core is reincarnated into a new Correnian and the Uncreation is born as an actual creature as well, a female Correnian.
39. Philote develops the Labyrinth Virus and uses it to evolve his powers even further by injecting it into his body to create a labyrinth of Philote’s Sol’s Matrix.
40. Philote seeks information about the Ark….
41. He finds that it is the key to the resting place of the last of the original elementals, an Elemental of Dreams, from before the separation of the planes from the worlds.
42. Philote joins with and becomes infected by the mote of the minor planes stored within the Ark. This causes him to face every possible manifestation of himself to conquer the power of the Planar Schematic by leaving only the prime Philote.
43. The combination of the Labyrinth Virus and the Planar Schematic consumes Philote’s body and transforms it into a living Plane.
44. As a living Plane, Philote absorbs Haven, all its gates, and the Ark into his Core / the Core of the Planar Schematic.

Wow, my gifts appear to be oddly self-serving. I'm more vain than I realized.

On a more positive note, you put way more effort and thought into this character than I have for mine. Plus you actually remember all the stuff you have where as I've forgotten all but the ones I use more than once.

So I watched Ender's Game recently and it inspired me to go back and refresh myself on all the great things from the book and its sequels, including Philotes.

While not all the rules about Philotes in Ender's Game match my current lore for my NB self, it did inspire a lot of it, so if you guys want to check out the origin of my name, check out this Link.
