Maybe we are over thinking this, there are some quite large stars out there. Have you heard of the one called VY Canis Majoris.

nope, my brain kind of went lax for a bit when it came to learing scientific trivia dew to being forced to read several books in english class which pretty much made me give up on humanity for a long period of time....but due to this I can tell you how to rig a nuclear bomb,and create poison gas out of household supplies due to selective hearing.

Its the largest star known to date, should google it, there is a nice little animation showing its size compared to Earth, sun, and other stars

Like I said I might have heard of it a while ago.......nnot sure though. but as far as I'm concenred I'm guessing it's at least or maybe most two hundred times the size of the sun? or am I way off.

VY Canis Majoris = 3.063 billion km or 1.7 billion miles in diameter
