No, it didn't have any good purpose, it's rude and offensive. Even though some groups totally deserve it (racists, cultists, PETA, etc.), some groups did not, and were subject only to your personal opinion, not true facts. Not to mention, some quite rude opinions (and not the funny kind of rude)
