New Beginning 22: Once Upon a New Beginning...

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

The legs twitch and jerk, fused with the marble of the deck. It shorts, uncontrolled electricity frying the Mimics it was made of. It collapses into parts that don't even look like parts, and the pile lies still.

But while Phi is tussling with the the leg-bot, it swinging it's new claws with reckless abandon, the legs that tried to flank Philote see an opportunity to join in the action. It runs over and begins attempting to stomp on him.

In addition, the Two Mimics further along the deck make their move. The Mimic Hooded Figure gets down on one knee and begins muttering. Suddeny the last of the Mimic Mini-Rustbeards flies at the fray around entangling Phi, as though pushed by a great force.

The Mimic Torsos continue to slowly drag their way to one another.

[Philote]

I wrestle across the deck with the leg-bot and the claw-bot, hardly getting an attack in edgewise as I defend myself. Finally, fed up, I expand an bubble of air around myself to get some room to move. The two bots are lifted up and deposited out of my sight as I jump back up to my feet, though with their weight I probably only bought myself a foot or two of space. As I get up, my spine successfully catches the incoming mini-rustbeard and the two of us are flung into the nearby wall.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

The other two enemies orient themselves and take this as an opportunity to pile on, like rugby.

[Zaleramancer]

With a metallic scratching sigh, I continue to beat at the little buggers.

Trying to shock me. Absurd, that's what it was.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Soon, you've flattened most of the little buggers with your big metal fists. The ones that don't get flattened fall off you and scatter, seeing their plan was obviously not working. They disappear, seeking easier pray.

(That's the last of the swarms dealt with, the rest of the field is open.)

[Philote]

I have even less success with three minions swarming me. Instead, I simply try to phase through the wall the mini rustbeard knocked me into, bringing with whatever minions I'm able to do what I did to the first to them.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Philote phases through the large decorative marble column he has been pin against, bringing with him as many bad guys as he has hands. So two.

The Mini Mimic Rustbeard and one pair of legs short and fritz out, completely unable to deal with the stimuli of being fused into a the marble itself. A large fissure forms as the Mimics dissolve into inert piles of component parts.

Then the Legbot swings it's claw at him around the pillar.

Further away, the 4 torsos have reached one another and the Mimic hooded figure begins fleeing the battlefield.

[Philote]

The singular leg-bot is much easier to deal with, especially now that I'm not being caught off guard or tosses around in a jumble of mechanical parts. I scuffle around with the leg-bot's claws for a bit before I get a hold of its ankle and throw it towards the hooded figure with a gust of wind.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

The Leg bot goes through the hooded figure, lodging in it's chest. They short, and dissolve like the others.

Meanwhile, the 4 torsos have hooked themselves together into a much bulkier whole. Despite it's complete lack of heads, it lifts itself up on 8 arms (legs?) like a spider and with a powerful leap throws itself at the nearest target.

Which is Phi.

[Philote]

Tired of being tackles half way across the deck and back, I dodge away with a gust propelled leap and land upon the highest structure in the immediate vicinity.

(Whats the highest structure in the immediate vicinity?)

[Zaleramancer]

I decide to retreat to somewhere safer.

Besides, I had a new idea to try out.

There's a line of decorative pillars leading out into a lovely garden that's all trashed.

There's also a beautiful fountain in the middle of where I think your fighting. That's not nearly as tall, but much more stylish.

So, back into the wheelhouse?

[Philote]

(Decorative Pillar it is)

It wraps it's arms around the pillar and begins to climb up after, like an idiot.

[Zaleramancer]

Whichever way is safe, mysterious voice.

I had long since stopped being anxious about the weird background chatter. You learned to live with it when you had powers like what I usually did.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

As Zale steps back into the relative safety of the wheelhouse, the Vault shoulders past him with the powder keg over it's head and tosses the thing out onto the deck, it's fuse wet and extinguished.

[Philote]

I point down and release another stream of wind. If it can't reach me then the fight will be all that much easier.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

The Torso Spider slips farther down the pillar, and a few mimics are blown off it's shell, but it's many arms redouble their  grip and it begins climbing again.

[The Narrator]

The suspenders and glasses are still there, you're stuck in Lekru mode huh?

Narrator:  Well....gosh yea but I gotta try an help out...

Areson:  Maybe it will be best if you just stay on the sidelines for now.....
