 Jester, I'm glad you're back.

I'm not sure if it can be done, but if it can be, I need you to reinstate your old account as "jester_of_god". I'm going to restore those old posts. And many other deleted or omitted posts, so we can more easily read through the forum.

The dumb solution would be to quote a deleted post, copy the restored text, then edit the original post.

Hey, that's not a dumb solution! It's all we've got since Jester deleted his profile, thus deleting every post he made as jester_of_god.

Oh, I just tested it. It really does work! I use List View when I look through a thread and I already noticed something odd about jester_of_god's deleted threads, now it makes sense.

In List View, you are shown an overview of each post of a thread. Clicking on a post expands it to show its full content. jester_of_god's posts were the only ones I found so far which overview displays the text he once wrote, but when the post is opened it says the content was deleted. All the other deleted posts have their overview say "deleted".

Well, maybe it's because he actually deleted his account. Other accounts were deleted for them (ie banned).

Those have all been restored (with the exception that, this time, some were labeled as trolls, which have no privileges aside from viewing posts). But I can't restore a deleted account.

Actually, it doesn't work with no_name and I'm fairly certain he deleted his posts himself. It may come from jester_of_god's status being unregistered despite having an email address associated to it.

Hm...let's give that a try.

When Jester comes back on, I'll ask him again to reinstate his old account, and then I can change its status to registered, and see if it works.

Four possible endings:
- You realize you can't do it;
- You can do it but it does nothing;
- You can do it and all his posts are restored;
- You can do it but all his posts will be lost and unrecoverable.

1. Thanks for providing the worst result first, Ves. Way to know we've got your vote of confidence.

2. It has to do something. Everything does something. Except a platypus. A platypus doesn't do much.

3. I already realize it's not likely all his posts will be restored, but it can't hurt to try.

4. Impossible. All I need is for him to restore the account. Then we can quote, copy and restore, as discussed previously.

Try to log in as jester_of_god. It should give you some options, if it doesn't automatically reinstate you.

I don't know exactly what to do, though, I've never deleted my account before. You'll have to find out the specifics for yourself.
