The door opens and in walks a professionally dressed woman with a strict looking face. She says, "Miss Knotwood, I found a student with your possessions on him. How would you like me to punish him?"

"Couldn't you have sent this as a message using the t-mail net, Dormitory Matron?"

Matron: "No, and who are all these?"

"SPL group. The Penultimate and Marv are the heads of the ither two schools of the Souls of Intellect. Everyone this is a graduate of the MCA, Veronica Hall the Dormitory Matron."

"Is there a limit to the charms it can handle? I mean there must be a size limit unless it adapts in some way. And where would charms for a bracelet such as this come from? Or can it absorb anything into a charm? Sorry I'm getting carried away."

"About the SPL, I don't see why you couldn't join. The only real requirements are a certain power level quota and not turning completely evil."

I feel the Penultimate staring daggers into my back. Phi's just curious is all. Maybe, I can clue him in after dinner. Or not. I can't tell one and not the others. Dryad's already suspicious and Phi must be a detective/ scientist. I sigh. I'll probably fess up after dessert.

"I'm sure I'll meet your quota. And evil? Nah, I'm too sweet for that. At least that's what a friend of mine once told me." I think of Eros. I'd probably stop by his place on Valentine's.

"All right, you all, time for the first course! Gandreian Snapdragon Salad! Enjoy!" Ivan calls out as his assistants rush to set the plates on the waiting table.

I teleport away.

She turns to Philote and materializes her Soulsword.

Veronica: "I'm a Soulsword wielder and I do use magic, but I also happen to be a telepath. Glow, Lantern."

Her Soulsword turns into 6 lanterns.

Veronica: "This is my Soulsword, Pledge of the Lantern Keeper."

 I stare at Bug's pants, and they erupt with a swarm of insects. Then I turn to head to the table for dinner.

I take a big bite of a Jango Bird sandwich to keep my mouth closed. My conscious eggs me on. Tell them, tell the truth. You're the Goddess of Luck, you know what happens when you lie.
