Thanks. The server will need to have the mod installed, of course, but I plan on initially making a Forge version for compatibility and for it to survive a bout of my absence. If that works, I can then move to making more adventurous versions such as in the form of an addon for Better than Wolves or something.

On another note, are there any storage blocks you'd like to see? A block like the blocks for diamond or gold, but for different materials such as bone? I think they may be a starting point, along with an alternate arrow recipe (no change in efficiency), a new item and fully renewable flint.

The blaze powder cube is one which hadn't come to mind. Would be useful as an aesthetic block.

I might make it the actual rods instead of the powder though.

I've seen it and its nothing like minecraft except for the cubes...It still looks fun though, but also something that should be dicussed elsewhere as this is the Minecraft thread.

The allure of Minecraft is being in a sandbox with infinite opportunites. If you add mods (like Better than Wolves or the mod idea I'm currently thinking of) or modpacks (such as Voltz of Feed the Beast, neither of which is compatible with Better than Wolves) you get even more possibilities.

Hmm. Bundles of sticks may also be useful. Interesting construction material and perhaps furnace fuel.

This,the ability to conjure items (would come later, upon getting some experience with modding) and possibly the gravel -> flint + sand would be the only things which would allow it to survive in a modpack like Feed the Beast;:
-Conjuration being helpful on unmodified survival maps, allowing other mods to be set up, as well as ores created, but later on near-useless.
-If you look at certain videos, it is evident that bone blocks would be useful for normal mob grinders/skeleton/wither skeleton farms, blaze blocks being useful for blaze farms and stick blocks for the much-loved witch farms. Each would have its required space for storage reduced to 1/9 of the normal size.
-With the wicker block, one could have cobblestone pulverised into gravel, then allowed to pass over the wicker block in water to make flint and sand, both of which are even more valuable in such packs than in vanilla. It would also effectively give free sand or flint and save on power, but would lead to a lot of duplication devices.

In other news, I;ve begun constructing a Multiplayer map I;m calling Mighty Castle Wars. I might change the same as it;s pretty lame. Anyways, it'll be a massive level split for two teams. each team has an identical castle, filled with weapons, traps, secret passageways, etc. The castles face each other from the two ends of a large battlefield filled with traps and hazards. The two teams must fight each other and the map to claim five Golden blocks and place said blocks on their teams pedestal while defending the blocks from the other team.

each team starts with one of the blocks while the remaining three are scattered across No Man's Land. Players can choose to attack each other, try for the golden blocks, defend their base, set traps or venture into the crypts below their castles to attempt to find gear that can help them win.

If you guys have an ideas for this or want to help build it, let me know.

Soon as Bukkit makes a server program for the latest version of minecraft I;ll get the server up and we can work on it.

I'd like to use the latest version so that we can include horses in it.
