You will have to get Marv's attention for that.

I was able to get into one of his server's once with his help, but I'm not sure if we ever got a permanent server set up.

A massive overhaul to redstone mechanics, being dubbed the "Redstone Update". It includes the allocator, variable redstone strength (with a capacitor block and a new ore needed for its creation) and a possible sunlight detector. Here are a couple of links to all the confirmed changes.

It comes out in January/February next year. In the meantime, we can expect fireworks before Christmas, with fully customizable effects.
