I received a message on one of my email accounts from an aol account I thought might be yours.

It was entitled Salutations, and contained a link to an article from a finance reporting website.

I was wondering what that was about.

It was similar looking to a Wulf's email account.

However, I did not send you that email. I guess I have to be more unique with my greetings, from now on, to make sure that you can tell the diff between me and someone sending you spam under my name, because that is scary.

I think I may send you references to the Forum from now on. Like maybe throw in something about one of the RPs or one of the users on this site. There's gotta be some way you can read emails from me, and know that you're not talking to an e-impostor.

Just because you receive an e-mail from someone doesn't neccesairly mean that account was hacked.

It's possible to send an e-mail with whatever sender address.  

They could have looked at your contact list and send an e-mail that appears to come from one of your contacts.

Wulf, sounds more like you've got a virus than that you actually got hacked.

Its common to get a virus on your computer that will use your email to send out links (That contain viruses) to all those in your contact list.

If you don't clean if off your computer then it will keep trying to use your email and possibly other damaging things to your computer

I would suggest getting/using BitDefender, it is the best antivirus system I've found so far, or finding a free alternative.

You need to have your anti-virus and firewall monitor your  continuously
I have ESET Smart Security and not once I have been bothered by stuff.
I think there's a free version of it, but I dunno for sure.

AVG is supposed to be good and free

Windows Defender is an anti-spy/ad/malware thingy that your system has for free (unless you have a differen OS, but I'm sure they have somethig similar)

Ccleaner is good against removing unnecessary stuff and clean/fix your register and it's free.

TuneUp Utilities 2013 is good to optimize, clean and speed up your computer (but is not free)

I'm fond of MalewareBytes.

It has a free version that has all of it's basic features, as well as a full-trial version.

The only real thing it lacks in the free is real-time blocking of things.
