Lords of Creation (Story Thread 2)

Yojimbo sighed, so the natives were coming to put an end to his fun already. He waited atop the cave the band of twenty something Dragonborn were setting up as their lair. Well, he might as well great those incoming before the group of Dragonborn became aware.

Jissei asked along the trek to greet the Dragonborn, "So, Uburra-Namall, how do you plan to get rid of them? Boils? A plague? A thunderstorm directed only on them? Tell me!"

"Teleport them to the top of the mountain and drop them? Banish them to the bottom of the sea? Eat them?" Jassi was just as ready to see the baddies suffer.

"Oh, please, younger brother, younger sister. Be patient." Uburra-Namall grinned a feline grin; she looked to Jassi, "It shall be just..." then looked to Jissei, "and delightfully wicked fun."

The twins were shocked by the goddess's answer. How the hell did she plan on pulling THAT off? But as they reached the edge of the woods before the Boquabian settlement, she showed them.

A wave of the hands, some bright light and some deep, penetrating vibrations, and they looked upon their Mistress, abased. Then they looked at one another, and realized they, too, were reduced to mortal form.

NOW they were ready to deal with the mortal threat. As soon as they reached the village, they would lie in wait, ready for whenever the Dragonborn arrived to stir up their draconic, scaly shenanigans.

"Not a bad idea." The Watchman says. "Smart thinking, do it. With your Mistresses permission, of course."

Mina: "You have my permision, Illusia, but first, there is something I want to do."

Mina sends a mental message to Mikoto requesting that a tengu and a raiju be sent to her quickly. Recieving the message, Mikoto has a Shadow-Scarred take the requested mythos to Mina. Upon their arrival, Mina grabs hold of both mythos and breathes a little bit of divine power into both, raising them to Minor Gods (-12 motes, Raise Minor Gods). Both are female, but one has feathered wings and a feathered body as well as talons and a beak while the other has blue-white fur, tail, and claws along with lightning arcing over her body.

Mina: "I name you two, Fuujin Goddess of the Tengu and Raijin Goddess of the Raiju. Ok, now do the illusion, Illusia."

Illusia's power washes over all of those in the group, disguising them all as ordinary tengu with no hint of divine power in their auras until Illusia decided to stop the illusion (Inherent Miracle).

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Aox couldn't take another blast of cold. He was so cold already and a think layer of ice coated his whole body. He had to move. It took all his strength, but he managed to pull himself free of the ice, sending crackling sheets of frost to the ground. He rolled to the right and pulled a small nozzle from inside his sleeve.

Pulling the lever on the nozzle, Aox unleashed a stream of wet mud towards Rhogar. The Mud and ice collided in midair. The Mud Froze instantly becoming hard and heavy.

Pessimal arrived back at his seat at around the same time Mileena arrived back from her walk. On her back, the Milteo carried one of her large travailing roost's, and her steps were slow and steady so as not to agitate the contents. On her shoulder sat one of her charges.

"Millena" pessimal said, running up, "not that I'm not glad to see your alright, but, uh, is it really necessary for that thing to be out."

She gently slid the straps for the roost off of her shoulders, the bird sitting there moving obediently over the strap, and set it down with nary a sound. She looked sown at Pessimal. She was almost a head taller than he was, and spoke in a calm, deliberate voice.

"Tippi isn't feeling very well. I can't have her with the others, she might make them sick." She reached up and gently stroked the pigeon on her shoulder with her right claw. It always struck Pessimal how she could be so gentle with those things. She had enough raw strength to twist his head of with one hand, but handled her birds with the gentleness of a new mother.

Milteo were excellent at gathering and handling raw materials. Most dealt with various rocks and oars, and the knowledge of how to find and handle them almost seemed encoded into their very souls. Mileena, however, dealt with pigeons. She was excellent at catching, caring for, training, and breeding pigeons. Which had been handy when pessimal had knocked on her door, looking for a fast, inexpensive way to transport the news to other continents. Well, Mileena had certainly delivered on her end of that bargain.

Her pigeons were clever, easily twice the size of a normal pigeon, and every last one was pure evil. Perhaps some built in genetic "Payback time" switch had been flipped somewhere along the line, but these things knew they were the biggest and baddest on the planet, and also seemed to know what people commonly thought of their species. They were cutthrout killers, every last one. Nothing dared attack them as they delivered the paper, and the things that did they brought home to Mileena, who had inspired some sort of motherly loyalty in them. Just on the voyage over here one of the sailors had had the bright idea to reach into the roost grab one as a snack. They found him the next morning. Well, most of him.

Tippi was looking at him. He hated when they did that. He was relieved when she spoke again, it kept him from imagining what it was thinking.

"So," she said in her steady cantor, sitting down. "Did you see the giants fight? It was quite an entertaining show."

In fact, he had not seen the giants fight. "In the tournament?

"No, outside. Quite brutal. Lot's of people flying about."

His pad was in his hand. "Go on."

It seemed Aox truely was a summoner. Aox had saved himself once again from certain defeat by conjuring up a blast of mud seemingly out of nowhere. The mud and snow collided into a frozen mass that traveled on a stream of mud as a projectile back towards Rhogar. The unexpected counterattack knocked the Dragonborn out of the sky, causing him to fall unconscious upon impact with the ground.

Gilgamesh was truly surprised. The hero Aox had far exceeded Gilgamesh's expectations, Gilgamesh would have to learn of this new fighting style Aox possesed. "This round goes to Aox" Gilgamesh calls "The match between Tirion and Kagehana will begin shortly."

Yojimbo pondered what to do. The presence he had felt traveling closer earlier had disguised itself. The only thing to do, he decided, was to continue to shadow the band of outlaws as they set out on their first raiding mission.

Balasar lead his men through the shadows. The Dragonborn made no sound, and no untrained eye would catch them easily. They slipped into the town. Their poisonous breath opened any lock that blocked their path, and their keen eyes guided them through the darkness as they began to collect their spoils.

Kagehana grinned, it was finally her turn. Time to meet a human other than Nayotake. She walked down to the arena level then out to the arena itself and waited for her opponent.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

Aox was stunned into complete silence, the chill in his bones completely forgotten.

"I-I won?" he managed to mumble to himself. How could he have won? Surely he must have misheard. But no, there was Rhogar's body laying unconscious before him. He had won.

"I....won. I won. I won!" Aox picked himself up and strode confidently out of the arena. He had proven himself a capable hero to Crav. Nothing could bring his spirits down now. A smile spread from ear to ear on his dirt spattered face.

...and then he remembered his injuries.

"Uh-gaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Aox slumped sideways just outside the arena as the pain from every cut, scrape and bruise caught up with his brain all at once.

Rhogar was transferred out of the arena.

Tirion strode confidently into the arena, sporting a great sword. He wore large white plate armor that was trimmed with gold. Armor that was formed from the merging with a Divine Servitor. The combined weight would of been enough to drag a normal man down, but Tirion walked as if his equipment was made of air.

He faced off against his opponent, a determined look etched upon his face.

Kagehana cheerily salutes Tirion, "I'm Kagehana, I suppose you're Tirion?"

[Philote]

"You would be correct. I am one of Gilgamesh's humans, which race might you be?"

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Kagehana: "I am the first of the Shadow-Scarred to have been created by my mistress, Mina Goddess of Demons, Youkai, Shadows, Fire, and Ice. I have met many other gods and also met another of the heroes under Gilgamesh, specifically Lo-Kag. Did he tell you anything about me that might aid you in combat against me?"

[Philote]

"I'm afraid I have not had much contact with him outside of training. We should be on equal terms as far as knowledge goes."

The horns sound signalling the start of the fight, and Tirion raises his great sword in an aggressive stance.

"I hope you are prepared."

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Kagehana's stance becomes more relaxed as she starts singing with her hand on Kagenobara's hilt,

"♪In a world of darkness, let me be a light,
Let me bring the sunshine to drive away the night,
In a world of sadness, let my light shine through,
Bringing hope and comfort, in every thing I do,
In a world of strangers, let me be a friend,
Let the light of kindness, glow until the end,
In a world of hatred, let my love shine through,
Bringing us together in friendship me and you,～♪"

"You may wish to spend some more time fighting and less singing" Tirion says already moving to swing his blade "And it is funny you should sing about light."

[Tsubasa & Wen Tien]

Kagehana continues singing but draws Kagenobara, "♪And I will shine, my light for everyone to see,
So we may share in the joy, of peace and unity,
Let me make tomorrow, brighter than today,
Let the world be better because I passed this way, ～♪"

Up in the stands, Mikoto grimaces. That spell was meant for long-range, DISTANCE fighting, not close-combat! At this point, Gravas and Magnas enter the stands and take seats next to Mikoto as the zombies take whatever seats they can find and the gargoyles take perches in the uppermost area of the arena.

Gravas: "Has anything interesting happened, Mikoto?"

Mikoto takes one look at Gravas and Magnas and practically leaps onto Gravas, crying, "Waaaaaaah! I d-d-didn't know when you or L-l-lady Mina would arrive! I w-w-was so worried! Waaaaah!"

Tirion strikes against Kagehana's sword, and continues for another swing. The two heroes exchange sword strikes and Tirion tries to push his opponent back.

Kagehana lets Tirion take whatever amount of ground he wants, taking any nonlethal hits she can take, finishing her spell, "♪In a world of questions I have found the key,
I can make a difference when peace begins with me!
I can make a difference when peace begins with me!
Yes, pe～eace be～egins wi～ith me～～～～e!♪
ELEMENTAL BARRAGE!!!"

Upon finishing her spell, blasts of wind, of water, of fire, of rock, of lightning, of metal, of ice, and of wood form around Kagehana before flying straight at Tirion.

Tirion had experience with elemental attacks after several spars with Emere. He raises his great sword in front of him and a shield of light forms to divert the blasts to his sides. Taking advantage of being so close to Kagehana, he sends a blade of light while maintaining the shield.
