Lords of Creation (Story Thread 2)

Emere stood his ground, he would not be able to escape into the void this time. The hero strained himself, gathering all his flames for one final confrontation. His orb levitated in front of him covered in a layer of black flames to face the shark man head on.

Aox finally swaggered his way into the arena stands. His eased into a seat and glanced towards the current fight. His confidence suddenly drained away. Those were some powerful looking guys.

"Isn't it just a lovely display of power?" asked a young women sitting next to Aox. It was Sarina.

"I....suppose." Aox answered nervously, still focused on the two in the arena.

[Zaleramancer]

The flux of powers flashed and broiled..

Roaring in pain, Pike fell in a burnt heap.

The match was over.

As Isabelle and Miki entered Sora's forge, they noticed several gauntlets strewn around on the ground, all of which looked good, but weren't always in a finished condition. They decided as one that he was working on a project of somekind and went off to the side to wait for him to finish.

"The Match goes to the hero Emere!" Gilgamesh called "The next match shall be between Kagehana and Aox."

Gilgamesh was surprised that Emere had won. The hero Pike had been in a good position to take the match. Maybe with some proper training Pike's full potential could be brought forth.

Kagehana hears the call and slips through the shadows to the arena floor for her battle.

Aox approached the arena. It was time to put his game face on. Aox lowered his new goggle onto his face. His eyes narrowed as he tightened his satchel's straps.

"Let's do this!" he exclaimed as he dashed into the Arena with new found confidence.

Kagehana watches as Aox runs into the arena and stands still.

Aox stands his ground and pulls several clay spheres from his satchel.

Kagehana watches with interest as Aox prepares his move and forms an armor of solid shadows in preparation as well as pulling the Clone-Blade out of its sheath.

Gilgamesh signals for the horns to sound the start of the match.

Kagehana gathers the shadows around the Clone-Blade but waits for Aox's move.

Mizuna wondered where she could hide. Neither the healers' area nor Sora's forge, both were too ******* obvious. She'd be found eventually if she tried to hide in her house. Kira would definitely check there at some ******* point. The ****** city halls were not an option either, too ******* public as was the construction site. That left going to the heroes' training area. Looked like there was unfortunately no other option for her, she'd have to do some physical and magical training. At least Fubuki and Koriko would be there and could stop Kira. Mizuna slowly trudged over to the training area.

Kira continued her stakeout on Sora's forge despite having seen neither Mizuna nor Koneko. Only Sora, his neice, and her friend had entered but eventually Koneko or Mizuna would come to avoid her.

Aox was formulating his plan of action. He had to strike quick. He wasn't powerful enough to last out a powerful hit from his opponent. He would have to strike fast and hard, then keep moving. This first move was crucial. He needed to inflict some damage to slow down Kagehana before she could lay into him with her power.

Aox's grip tightened on the small clay pots in his hands. He started to psych himself up. He could do this, he could do this he....could....do....this!

"rrrrrrraaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" Aox's battle cry built in volume as he sprinted towards Kagehana. As he drew within range, he pulled the clay pots in close, dragging the tops over the rough patches sewn into his pants. The  tops of the pots ignited as the friction sparked their phosphorus lining.

With all his might he pitched the clay pots at Kagehanna, and continued to sprint forward drawing out his wrench. As soon as the pots exploded, he would get in close with the wrench. The pots struck the ground near Kagehana and exploded.

Aox moved in.

Crav finally settled down into a seat in the stands of the arena. His leather clothing seemed to weigh him down. The furious crafting he had done for the Trophy had taken it out of him. The Winner would be very pleased with it. of course he had hidden it so that none would lay eyes on it before it was time.

For now Crav was glad to relax and watch some heroes duke it out. To Crav's suprise, Aox was fighting. He hadn't realized it was his turn. He really should have been paying more attention. At least now he could see his only hero in action.

"C'mon Aox, you can do it. I know you can." Crav muttered to himself.

Kagehana was impressed. The clay pots had obviously held something highly flammable, but to make it explode without magic required some dedication. Kagehana used the explosive power of the pots to flip backwards, then slip through the shadows to a new position 100 metres from where she originally was. She'd observe Aox's fighting style for as long as she could.

Mizuna entered the underground training ground for Lady Mina's heroes that had been hollowed out by the Lycanthropes. The first thing that she noticed was that it was ******* cold! What was going on down there? She looked to find Fubuki and Koriko fighting in order to perfect a... Spell? Technique? What were they ******* doing? From what she could tell, they had been fighting a while and expending a plethora of mana. The walls were pretty much frozen solid with ****** ice and the floor had become a ******* mirror. The two were going to need to be healed and unfortunately, she was the only one who was there to ******* do it. All she had to do was wait until one of them (or both) fell, unable to fight from exhaustion, wounds or some other ****** reason. All Mizuna had to do was wait.

Gilgamesh focused on the battle. He knew some of Crav's lands and the strange items that were crafted there due to his alliance. He saw great potential in Aox's abilities, potential his own heroes could learn to utilize some day.

Even as he focused on the match, Gilgamesh commanded his people through thoughts from the Grand Mind.  As Thorn received his orders from Gilgamesh, he set off.

Thorn entered Pike's treatment area where he was being healed after his last match. Seeing that the shark man was still resting from the fight, Thorn took a seat and retreated into his mind until the time that Pike would awake.

It was time for Balasar and his men to set off on their next raid. A good plunder would restore the moral of his men, but it would take more  to take Balasar's mind off of the massacre they had just gone through.

If this was how the Spirits of this land were going to treat him then he would take his revenge on the land's people. Not only would he plunder the town, but he and his men would assassinate as many villagers as they could before the town's attention was caught, and as a final display of power, they would leave their poisoned mark on the town, corrupting their water supply and crops.

Balasar grinned and his eyes gleamed with malice, he would enjoy this raid.

Deva passed by a werewolf walking through the outskirts of the tournament grounds and took a double take. So many mutations in so little time, the creature seemed to be an amalgamation of different parts in her eyes. She reached out her hand to remake the creature as she saw fit and then quickly pulled it back. It was not her territory to alter a creature that had so much obvious work done on it by another pantheon.

Deva would show them how to do a proper alteration, a simple overarching buff that would not compete with the forms the creatures had already taken. To do this, she would call on Lore again. He truly was a great benefit to the pantheon since his creation. His job required him to spend little of his own power and he did not require persuading to gain his assistance in matters related to Gilgamesh's creations. Not to mention his work monitoring and cataloging the vast amounts of information that arose from so many creations.

Deva focused, she would start the seed of her Miracle here in the tournament grounds while Lore did likewise in whatever location was preferable by him. The two miracles would simple and hard to detect, but their effects would prove infinity useful. The first miracle would give Gilgamesh's races the ability to resist effects that mirrored their own nature, while the second would give them the ability of spell penetration equal to their power (Inherent Miraclex2)

Aox barreled into the smoke from the explosion expecting his opponent to be there. It became obvious she was not after Aox's wild swings did not connect. As the smoke dissipated, Aox scanned the arena to find his opponent watching from a distance.

How had she moved so quickly? Some kind of teleportation or magic? He would have to find a way to limit that. What was she playing at? She hadn't made a move yet. She was just watching him. Perhaps she was trying to glen something of his fighting technique. Aox smiled to himself. The joke was on her. He wasn't a fighter, he had no fighting style.

Aox's next attack was quick and hard. His hand went up and a small click was heard. In an instant, a small sliver blur cut across the field at Kagehana. A small razor disk. It whizzed so quickly through the air, it was almost impossible to see other than the glint of its menacing metal edges.

The metal disk hits Kagehana on her shadow armor and the shadows deflect the disk making it fly into the air as Kagehana raises the Clone-Blade up in a straight line, then brings it down fast, crying, "Midnight Fang!"

A crescent-shaped blast of shadows bursts forth from the tip of the Clone-Blade towards Aox.
