Another fix for motes bonuses being too high would be to reduce the boost from Divine Artifacts.
First number would be correct Divine modifier bonus, and second number would be maximum Divine Artifact bonus for that level of spirit. If Divine Artifacts were +2 If Divine Artifacts were +1 The ratios of power would be the same as what we currently have, without having the numbers skyrocket so much. Couldn't round the numbers though when halving them, so some teams could have a 10.5, for calculations to be fair. After thinking about it some more, having Divine Artifacts give a +2 bonus seems the best option.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

Aren't you being a bit excessive with your creations?
I mean, half of them are rarely referenced. Sure they're running around, but we never see them unless you go out to stomp someone to death..

If I'm being excessive right now then that's fine with me. It just means more that I can draw upon later when I'm doing other things.

What I posted should be balanced now.
This way, the cost for gaining 4 Demi or 1 Major is the same and the power for 4 Demi or 1 Major is the same as well.

I just realized something, Raise Demi-God most definitely should not be allowed to be an inherent power due to the advantage it would give.
I'm going to add that restriction to the post I made with the rules. Also, we might need rule on Bless/Curse/Smite/Miracle as Inherent powers in combat. Such as, first time they are free in one encounter, but afterwards motes have to be used for that encounter. Outside of combat they remain free. I'll add that to the rules for now.

so three motes a day period, so that means that the two point gainage maximum from domains is nonexistant then?
And all the arguing really does is raise the question of why you didn't mention this three weeks ago when I made the characters in the first place. Which would mean that you rarely pay attention to my posts anyway. |

Loophole found.
After then ten reset all point acquisition that we gained from the previous time of that day had been negated, resulting in a point gain of total zero for that day. Which woud allow for the acquisition of three points during tht reset. After day of reset three point maximum returns to affect. |

Phi: I have some stuff I need to do in this thing, So we need to finish this fight as soon as possible. Willing to go all out?.
In addition, as long as the create demi god function is not overused it should be allowed...which is why there should be a cap of around four or five. |

interesting...it makes more sense considering that the amount of power that can be funneled into a devine artifact would be increased if they were given to a stronger god, but still, something just seems off about the syste.

Searching for disrepencies between Phi's and zales which raises questions. Used: Zales original list.
Everyone begins play with ten motes as an Overgod. Base ten motes to begin with. Good enough, not enough for any twelve point actions, which would mean those would have to be saved until today. Every day, at noon your time, you gain one additional mote. You may also gain motes from the worship of your followers, though the maximum you may gain is three motes per day. First disrepency concerning points, ties in with the gaining of points concerning domain furthering. Is the three point totum per day a three point gain concerning the use of races in order to gain points, in conjunction with the one point gain per day, leading to a 1 point daily gain, and a two point race gain, or is it 1 point gain + three for race. If it is the prior, is the system built in this way so that those who have decided to create races cannot gain an advantage through the use of domain furthering to gain a total of five points, If it is the latter, do you gain a total of four points, 1 for the daily gain, three four the races, and if so would that lead to a maximum gain of six due to the point acquisition? Any action that references the local area means anything within three hundred miles, though you may choose to affect a smaller area. If we are to use this system we need some sort of marker on the map detailing exactly how much distance is equal to what amount of space on the map. You have a physical body, unless you choose otherwise. The instantaneous travel may not move you more than one hundred miles per use. Is this refferig to instantaneus travel used by all gods, or instantaneous travel gifted from an artifact? Anyone who doesn't read all of these rules will be fed to the space shark. ...Great, now I want to fight a giant space shark and fashion it's teeth into a weapon...never got a chance to use that dragon tooth did I.... Domain Rules A god that acts to further or protect their domain receives a one mote. They may not gain more than two motes per day through this method. See firs statement concerning motes A domain is an aspect of reality over which a god holds power. This may be anything from the concrete (Earth, Trees) to the abstract (Love, Knowledge). Domains may be anything that is not judged to be to broad (Such as Everything or World). Divine Actions Divine Actions can be used by gods through the expenditure of motes of energy. Actions are organized into Tiers. The higher the Tier, the more powerful the action, and the greater the cost. There are also Tier Zero, or Free actions that require so little power that they can be used for free. Overgods have access to all actions, but the lower ranking gods are restricted. Divine Servitors may only use free divine actions. Demi-Gods may use free divine actions, and a single tier one action, chosen during their creation. Minor Gods may use free divine actions, tier one actions, and a single tier two action. Major Gods may use free divine actions, tier one actions, tier two actions, and a single tier four action. ............I'll leave his as such, but I must ask, why tear four instead of three? Of course I need to change the go'd's abilities, I misread this section. Free Divine Actions Shapeshifting: Changing form is a free action. Most gods prefer to transform into races, mythical beings and animals they have created. Flying: A god may fly with great speed. A flying god can go from one end of the world to the other over the course of a week. Wings are optional, but stylish. Yes, yes they are. Matter Creation: A god may make any non-magical, non-living item or material as a free action. A cap needs to be set on this. Inherit Powers: Some god may select certain higher tier actions to use as free actions, according to their divine rank. Overgods may select three tier one actions and a two tier two action. Major gods may select two tier one actions and a single tier one action. Minor gods may select two tier one actions. Demi-Gods may select a single tier one action. These selected powers become inherit parts of the divinity, and they may use them without any cost. Tier One Actions All Tier one actions cost one mote. Alter Weather: A god may alter the weather across a wide area. Such changes can be anything from breezes to hurricanes, from rain showers to hail storms. For the most part, these changes last for as long as the god wills them to. A change can be made permanent with a blessing or curse. The action of change weather is slightly powerful it needs to have a limit of how much area it can affect at once, otherwise you may end up with a global lightning storm Create Life: From elephants to mice, or oaks trees to daisies, this can create any non-magical animal or plant. This can create a single animal/plant , several of one kind of animal/plant, or tons of different kinds of animals/plants. ....I stil think that thsi ability should be able to be used in conjunction with create matter in order to form giant abominations, on the condition, that they only exist as one entity. Bless: Bestow a subtle, positive effect on something. A good rule of thumb is that a blessing isn't obviously divine. It can be something that people can put off as a coincidence or sheer luck. They dispel, and are dispelled by, Curses. Curse: The inverse of Bless. Make something subtle and horrible happen to something. Like Blessings, Curses are usually thought of as just bad luck. They dispel, and are dispelled by, Blessings. Stricter definition of good and bad luck needed. Technically I consider it bad luck to be struck by lightning. Possess Avatar: A god may declare a mortal to be their avatar. Avatars serve as the eyes, ears and mouth of a god. Most avatars retain their old personalities, with a few influences from the god. A god can use divine actions through an Avatar as if they were a god two ranks lower than normal. ...I'm simply trying to figure out the point of this...if God's are able to take human form, then what is the purpose of this?...............Is it for long range alteration of the world, If so this could lead to spy systems. There should be a limitation that states that they can only be creatures or races that the god themselves created. Raise Hero: You may choose a mortal to be your herald. A hero may not the subject of Curses or Blessings from other gods, nor may they be removed from play by anyone other than you. I assume that this is for later use, perhaps generation three or something, but if so what will be the purpose, Willl you later impose challenges, or tournaments in which we may enter our heralds...If so it would be an interesting idea, I'd like to help if that was their purpose Create/Alter Terrain: You may change the local area to any land type your desire (Plains, desert, hills mountains). You may choose to mix various terrains (Such as making a mountain, then surrounding it with a desert.). Such changes are permanent, unless changed by another god. Interesting, it could be used to cause several nuisances, I approve. Tier Two Actions Tier Two Actions cost four motes. Create Mythical Being: You may make one or multiple creatures with supernatural powers. Such creatures may be intelligent, but may not function as your chosen race. Examples of this are: Unicorns, Genies, Dragons. Make Servitors: You may make minions to serve you. These Servitors appear as you desire. They fall under your complete control. Servitors will generally do nothing if not given some kind of order and are rather useless when unsupervised. They are immortal with respect to aging and normal injury, but most gods would find them easy to destroy. Assuming you have a personal plane, they inhabit that. Servitors generally assist their masters in minor ways, such as: Wandering around healing people, helping them create artifacts, entertaining them, furthering their goals. ...most likely their purpose will be more usefull in the twilight of the god's era... Smite: You may inflict a severe punishment to any chosen group, area or person. Unlike Curses, Smitings had an obvious divine source. Examples of this are: Making fire rain from the sky, sending a horde of dragons to destroy a town, killing entire cities instantly, etc.. ..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................gladly these are countered by miracle and vice versa. Miracle: You bless a group, area of person with an obviously divine gift. Examples of this are: Causing large numbers of resurrections, sending a group of mythical creatures to save a town, making a healing lake in the area, giving your chosen race some ability or attribute, etc.. Raise Demi-God: You may make a chosen mortal a Demi-God. Demi-Gods are immortal as far as aging goes. They are usually loyal to you. They draw from the same mote pool as you do. Demi-Gods have an aspect one of your domains, or may be aligned with a certain location. Such as a Demi-God of a certain city. I disagree with Philotes altering of this to a higher point action to prevent it from being free, as long as said cap is placed. Found Religious Order: You may set up a system of formalized worship for yourself. This requires you to have a race. A Religious Order increases your maximum mote capacity by two, and you may contact any high-ranking member of your order from any distance for free. .........This should only be allowed to be used once per god. With a maximum cap if you have several gods, like in the case of Dryad, or Shadowulf. Tier Three Actions Costs eight Motes. Create Artifact: An artifact is an mortal item of great power. It may have any ability within reason, such as: Allowing one to effortlessly kill dragons, create food for large number of people, create powerful magical effects like fireballs and forcewalls.. Artifacts may not harm normal gods or minor gods. They may injure Demi-Gods or Avatars. SInce these are less powerful perhaps they should be placed on a lower tier. Raise Minor God: You may create a minor deity. Minor gods are nearly immortal, though other minor gods and normal gods may harm them. You choose one domain related to your own for them to have upon creating them. They are always loyal to you. Minor gods share your mote pool. Gain Domain: You may gain an additional domain by using this power after spending five motes on actions related to that domain, such as gaining the Forest domain after spending points creating a forest(1), filling it with animals(1), blessing it(1) and creating a demi-god to defend it(2). Gain domain never counts for the purpose of expending points to gain domains. (If this were the case then one could instantaneously gain a mote by simply creating an artifact relating to it. It needs to have stricter rules, or a higher point usage before acquisition. Create Race: You may make a race of sapient beings, with power level in line with normal humans. They usually worship you, which gives you an additional mote per day. You may add special qualities or abilities to a race using Miracle. Tier Four Actions Cost twelve motes. Create Plane: You create a plane of existence, separate from the normal world. It is a 300 mile circle in diameter by default, though you may expend extra points to make more space at one mote per 100 miles. You may dictate the general appearance, climate, terrain, wildlife and any architecture as you desire, and this may be changed later as a free action. hmm..........i would like to propose a question concerning the creation of non physical domains, may the laws of physics be changed inside of said plane, considering that it is a pocket dimension? You may shift to and from your plane at anytime as a free action, and may expend one mote to use it to open a portal to another part of the normal world. Your plane may store up to ten motes of divine power for your later use. Motes stored in such a manner do not count against your maximum mote total. If you shift to and from your plain, do you return to the exact place that you were before the shift, or can you appear in any place in a one hundred fifty mile radius? Make Divine Artifact: An item of near limitless power. It may duplicate any free, one, or two mote action (Except those that raise gods and heroes) for no cost, twice per day. This item may also be imbued with any power near the power of a one or two mote action. May these be taken after combat, or broken by another god? Raise Major God: You may create a Major God. Major gods are all but immortal. They gain two domains of your choosing, and are usually loyal to you. They share your mote pool, and add four to the maximum mote total. So god's can be killed. Good to know, I must log that for later use. Combat Rules Add together the modifiers as follows: According to Divine Rank: +1 for Demi-Gods, +5 for Minor Gods, +16 for Major gods, and +41 for Overgods. According to location: +1 If within a hundred miles of a location the God is venerated in or that they control, +2 if they are within a mile of said location, and +3 if they are within it. According to Divine Artifacts: +3 for an Offensive Divine Artifact, -3 to the apposing god for a Defensive Divine Artifact. According to the assistance of Others: +1 for Demi-Gods, +2 for Minor Gods, +4 for Major Gods, +8 for Overgods. You may only wield a single Divine Artifact for each Divine Rank, Plus one. (2 For Demi-Gods, 3 for Minor Gods, etc..). Heroes may wield a single Divine Artifact. No god may use mote-expending abilities except for the following: Bless, Curse, Smite, Miracle. Compare your modifier with your opponents. If you're within 1-4~ points of power, you are a fairly even match for your opponent. If it's 5-9 above you, then it's a challenge to fight. If it's 10-15 above you, then it's a really difficult fight for you. If it's +20, then you are screwed. If it's 5-9 below you, then it's a fairly easy fight. If it's 10-15 below you, it's barely an effort. If it's -20, then it's scarcely even worth your notice. |

Under the current rulling the combined attack power of the gods at my disposal are.
Over god+ 41 2 Major+ 16 Chaos gauntlet, crystal, cylinders, cloak, chakram. Might be missing one. +15 giving me a total attack of 72. cross, guantlet of order, -6 to opponent. Which results in an equivalent attack of 78. There should be a limit created on number of gods, considering that they alter the attack the most. If I recal corectly total their are already almost thirty at this point. Most seem superfluously used only to gain domains, which honestly could have simply been gained through the use of the regular domain gian. Such as shadows, god's of sin, could have simply been combined into one god of sin, or one god of temptation. Shadow, do not take offense, I amusing you as an example simply because your post was the last one I read concerning the several god's of sin. |

Yes, when they were first stated, And it was also agreed that we could gain domains later through other uses. In all honesy I could argue that you have several domains which should belong to Hazet due to him being a god of weather, he should hold both lighting and wind.
n addition in all honesty Crav should be able to have metal given that he is the god of craftmanship.....In truth a limit should be posted on domains as wel... Phi: We need to finish this fight, I have several things which I need Mik Hael to do, Gain the domain of spirits, and then create a plane of dreams. How would you like to end this fight, a mutual tie given our similiar point values, or would you wish to continue this until one of us wins. |
