Everything was ready. Gravas had finished with forming a giant cavern 80 kilometres underground for the new Divine Artifact and Mina had gathered up the energy to create it (-0 motes, Alter Terrain, Inherent Action for Gravas). Mina let her power flow out to create a giant labyrinth that shifted its walls every few seconds except for 4 spots where the Divine Artifacts protecting her lands would be stored (-12, Create Divine Artifact). The Shadow-Scarred quickly moved the Divine Artifacts to their appropriate spots without changing the Divine Artfacts' positions corresponding to the four directions as Mina, Lily, and Kyouko made the labyrinth's walls, floor and cieling very difficult to damage in any way (-0 motes, 3 Inherent Miracles, 1 from Mina, 1 from Kyouko, 1 from Lily). Now was there anything else that needed to be done? (Total: 1 mote)

"That's outrageous!" Uburra-Namall gasped, "You mean you were THIS close to making your ENTIRE race look bad?" Her face was angry, but in all, she felt more like a disappointed mother.
"Yes, Mistress." Mina the Sly hung her head. Certainly, she would have to be more sly next time. "Well, obviously, it's no problem, now." Uburra-Namall's face brightened a bit, "At least some folks are willing to look after you when I'm not around to do it myself. You would to well to return this Mitoko a kindness when you get the chance." "Yes, Mistress." Mina replied, "I apologize." "I hope that apology counts for us, too, MINA." Zai the Thinker crossed his arms, frowning disdainfully, "You nearly got us ALL in trouble, and made our people look bad in the process." "That's enough!" Tyran put up his hands, "Both of you. Let's not get out of hand." "Quite right." Jassi said, "The Tournament has been called, and none of you are ready yet. We'd best get moving."

A thin and worried looking woman fluttered out of the sky on brown wings, landing in a upper seat.
She brings out several methods of taking notes, then turns to watch the arena. Hazet would require reports.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Meanwhile, the constant cold war between the Magocracy and the Iron Kingdom was slowing to a halt. Hazet's Bright-Singers had induced a kind of resigned peace, and the two countries were focusing on internal matters.
The Iron Kingdom, with it's large dwarf population, was slowly edging towards the worship of Hazet again. Hazet had even approved the creation of Priests drawn from the kingdom. (Create Religious Order). A recent influx of humans has sparked something of a Renaissance of weapon design and building, as dwarfish and human engineers exchange ideas. The Magocracy was slowly solidifying politically, as many of the small nation-members were being absorbed into the central authority of the council. For the first time, a Sea Hag has managed to achieve the status of a Council Member, which caused quite a stir in some of the more conservative sections of the nation. A few new achievements in magic are assumed to be immanent as various Sorcerous Colleges continue their research in Spell Compression and Partial-Casting to make long and complex spells easier to use. The Free Cities continue to operate independently from Hazet, though they accepted his envoys politely. The City of Bluebell has become the defacto capital of the alliance. Many people from the Free Cities are cheering Amalia on as the representative of their nation. (-3 motes +2 motes 15 Motes remaining)

Zaya ended up sitting next to some nerdy looking winged woman who appeared to be taking notes frantically.
She, now in old lady form, plopped down and started sucking on a peppermint. ----------------------------------------------- On the Five Isles, boats came and went. The Fish-Folk cared little for it, content to merely swim and eat, unless ordered to do otherwise. The Sea Hags, however, found these boats to be of profound interest. People came to learn more about magic. Things about magic that even the most liberal sects of the Magocracy looked down on. Spells to break souls and enslave minds. Enchantments to provide eternal youth- at a horrid price. Curses to bring your enemies to a agonizing death. People paid handsomely for this spells. Handsomely indeed. Boats came and went, bringing fools and idiots, all desiring the nastiest things. They thought money and power could buy anything. Fools and idiots indeed.

They had tarried long enough. It was time to go to the tournament at Spectropolis. Mina, Gravas, Magnas, and Kyuuketsu left by way of flight, leaving Lily and Kyouko to watch over the land and keep it safe. Now to see what was happening at the tournament...

Crav sat down in his seat and leaned back. A small goblet of white wine appeared in his hand. He didn't drink red wine, it stained his white clothes too easily.
"What a lovely day for a tournament," Crav mused as he gazed blankly at nothing in particular.

Tharam entered the arena.
He was tall for a Draemar, which is to say he towered over everything else. He was dressed, like so many of his kind, in the most elaborate and carefully selected clothing he possessed. Light shined off his golden skin as he glanced arrogantly around the arena. "Has my opponent decided to abandon the fight? He must be more intelligent than I estimated."

The crowd looked around, hoping to spot this valorous hero who hailed from the land of the Boquabians. It truly looked like he would not show up.
It was only when the gates were about to close again, however, that finally there came a stir from Bo's side of the arena. Indeed, he was late, but he had shown up. Stupid maps, he thought to himself. He would have to practice reading those later. But for now, this gilded goliath...

"I take that only as a request that your defeat be clean and painless." Bo forsakes his weapon a second, keeping it still on his back-strap. For now, he would feel his opponent out.

"What do you mean by 'rock monster?'"
The watcher tried to nervously shuffle it's feet. The swaying of the cloak got the intent of the action across well enough. "Well, Sir, Mik Hael appeared riding it. It strolled right up to the gates, then stopped." The Watchman paused on the stairs to think. "Is it smashing things?" "No." "Throwing rocks around?" "Not as such, sir." "Eating people?" "No sir. But it is makings some of them slightly uncomfortable. It's the way it stares." The Watchman strolled up the stairs to the God box, and plopped down beside Crav. "Well, unless it does one of those things, ignore it. It's probably just some good natured divine dick-waving. Have a few witness posted on the walls to watch it in case it does do any and/or all of those things I mentioned above." "Sir!" the watcher said, disappearing into the sky. He took the time to absorb the match, then turned to Crav, "Hitting the sauce a little early, aren't you Crav? So, who're you rooting for? Personally, I hope that Bo guy throws the wizard in the dirt. I hate people like him."

Seeing that the two fighters had finally entered the arena, I call out "Let the match between Bo the Quick vs. Thram commence!" Following my words, horns are blown signalling the start.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

The Sorcerer launches into a spell, muttering words of power and making dramatic hand gestures.
Up in the stands, Amalia sighs. "Not that spell, idiot. Stupid wasteful dramatic fool."

Mikoto watches as the sorcerer starts on his first spell of the match and wonders just what the fool expected to achieve. After all, his opponent cold have just sunk a sword into him in the time it took to do half those gestures. Ah, in her opinion, the magic that Lady Mina had granted her people with was several times better.

"Okay guys, pay attention, most of our battles are not until later on, we can use this as an opportunity to analyze our opponent's battle styles." The group was sitting in the middle of the arena on the first row of the left side.
