"Well I would Zaya, but," he takes of his mask, showing only nothingness where is face should be," I afraid I do not have the capacity." He resets the mask.

"Now, I have something to ask of you. Recently, I attempted to spread an Idea around this world, one that is directly tied to my nature and duties. Funny thing, when the masks the message was written on approached this island, and bear in mind this is only what my people tell me, they were blown away by some sort of freak windstorm. Why do you suppose that happened?"

"Masks?" The Goddess inquired with a blank, innocent look that had been honed for centuries, "That's what those flying things were? I had wondered, but they got blown away."

She shuffled over to lay down the bowl, after grabbing a beetle to munch on.

"I bet it was that grumpy sea goddess that blew them off course. She's been blustering around and sulking for the longest!"

"Yes, I wouldn't put it past her. Between you and me she seems like a spoiled young upstart with no respect for her position. Please, allow me." He says, gently taking the bowl from the old woman and putting it away himself. "If she has been causing you any trouble, I apologize. It seems even simple diplomacy pisses her right off. You should have seen it, she literally threw a tantrum and created a whole new God so she wouldn't have to deal with us. Put a smile on my face for the rest of the day."

"But you," he said, turning back to look at the hag, "you seem more mature than that. Someone who wouldn't be opposed to a little compromise. So," he says, sitting down before her, "what would you like in return for me giving my message to your people?"

In the glorious Empire, trouble was stirring.

Many heinous masks had fallen a few days before, spreading dissension among many of the lower class. Even now the God-Emperor was forced to take severe measures to ensure the lies would spread no further.

Many had been carried off to the newly built prisons, and Hazet had raised his hand to create a police force of the greatest power... Beings of Divine Blood, but without their power or grace.

They were huge, muscular faceless beings with skin like steel. Giants.

None could stand against them, and soon order was restored to the empire.

"Well.. You could do me a favor." The Goddess shuffled over to her throne, collapsing in it. She turned to her mirror and waved a hand.

"You see, the god Hazet rules to the north. It was he that raised the Great Wall that near the Demonlands."

The mirror began to show images. Steel Giants marched through cities. People in chains were dragged to dungeons. An Emperor stared from his throne with cold eyes.

"I know not why, but his actions have recently taken a turn for the tyrannical.. I'm sure you would find this of a personal interest."

The Mirror images faded and turned dark.

"I would like to ask you to investigate this matter. If you do this, I will personally insure that my people receive your message."

"Funny that my Watchers did not inform me of this." he says, the words laced with implications, "But if what you say is true, then this man is my enemy. This bares investigation. Thank you for your time, Zaya."

The Watchman rises from his seat and begins to leave. He is in the doorway when he pauses, and turns to face the witch. "One question: why do you care about some country on another continent cracking down on it's citizens? It doesn't seem to have any bearing on your little archipelago here."

"Do you think his fear and paranoia will diminish because of his current actions? No. It will swell and grow, fed by the rebellions of his people and his own fears whispering in his mind. Who knows how long it before his fear drives him to strike out at us? Besides the Goddess of the Demonlands, I am his closest neighbor."

She paused to slurp up an eel.

"If I can keep my lands safe by helping you, I most certainly will."

"The we have a contract. I will return when I have dealt with him."

The Watchman leaves, taking off into the sky. Thinking about Zaya. Oh, she was good. Distract him from her by throwing out an irresistible bone, a Tyrannical God. Still, he had to wonder what she had planned involving those fish people.

He pondered this as he left the Witch gods territory, and passed into demon country.

Zaya was glad the other god was gone. She was getting rusty and he had smelt something.

The Hag-Queen crunched noisily on a centipede as she plotted her next move.

After a few minutes contemplating this, she called to her Fish-Folk, and instructed them in how to make boats.

Things were going well.

The imp-like forms of the Endreakians splashed the water as several groups of them swam.

Not long after they had entered the sea, however, a sound resonated over the water.

A jarring melody that all but vibrated bones with sheer massive sound.

The Undine's warning song.

He flew right over the wall dividing Demon land and Haketopia.

Now, when looking for an overlord what you did was find the largest, most ostentatious building possible, because that was where they where likely to be. Now where would it....

"MY LORD!"

The call diverted his attention downward, just in time to see one of the Watchers clutched in the grip of one of those terrible faceless giants. The Watchman quickly changed direction and began diving towards it at incredible speeds. As he dove, he conjured in his hand a large javelin, and when the time was right he drove it right into the creatures shoulder, causing it to release the watcher.

"Well, this explains why I had to hear of this from Zaya." He thought, leaping off the injured creature onto the ground before it.

"My lord, they..."

"Don't call me that. And I know the situation. Get out of here while you can." The grey cloak vanished into the sky, away from the city.

'Now, as for you" He said to the giant, "You have the nerve to commit crimes like this while wearing my face?"

The Steel Giant remained silent as it stared at where the Watcher used to be.

It spoke in a flat emotionless voice, as if merely repeating a statement from memory

"Because of you a criminal has escaped. You shall be punished."

It lunged forwards, heavy arms reaching to grab the Watchman.

(I didn't make that mistake, whatever are you talking about? )

Oh, of course. It didn't know any better.

"Poor thing" he said, leaping out of the way over the Giants head.

"Why don't you think about whether what you have been doing is truly just!"

The Watchman reached out into the creatures mind, beating up against the wall of it's programming and shattering it. Soon it's mind was filled with questions, feelings, and thoughts. And, just as he had done with Bazul, he used him as the medium through which to reach out to his entire race. The creature gripped its head and collapsed onto its knees, overwhelmed by it's sudden sentience.

"So, tell me your honest opinion, is it right to jail people for having an idea?"

Thought. A new horizon for the Giants.

All across the Empire Giants froze in place as their minds raced at new speeds. Horizions of thought exploded into being. Personalities formed, and they thought as one.

Their minds, touched by the essence of the Watchman, came swiftly to a unanimous conclusion. As one, they spoke.

No.

Then the Giants moved with suprising swiftness and endless certainty. There was no doubt, no confusion. All of them knew what they must do.

We have done wrong.

Giants surrounded the prisons that had been made to contain the rebellious. Without a word they broke down doors, bent bars and shattered chains. Awed prisioners crowded around them as they moved.

We shall pay them for our transgressions.

As the Giants left the prisions, Guards and soldiers made attempts at fighting them, only to be knocked flat- unharmed and breathless. The few that remained fled for their lives before the steel juggernauts. Word spread through the cities, and families of the imprissioned made joyful reunions.

We shall lead them to the outlands near the Demon-Wall. Cities we shall build, and Cities we shall protect, so that they may live free. Watchman. You have our thanks.

The united people watched as the Giants marched down roads and past builings, all heading out of cities.. towards the northwest. Some followed, deciding this to be a sign of fourtune. Others remained, to distrustful of the beings that had jailed them.

Regardless as to their choice, the crowds melted away, and the Giants were gone.

The God-Emperor watched, utterly impotent. Many of his court surrounded him, but he heard them not. Their cries of outrage and fury fell off his ears unheard. All that Hazet realized was that his people and his creations had left him. Of their own free will, they had gone.

Something inside the God broke and the formerly proud figure crumpled in his throne. Finally, court nobles noticed, and slowly edged away in fear.

Soon the God-Emperor was alone, and in this solitude, the seeds of madness took root...

While I wait for the being to respond, I send out some Dragonborn scouts. They will be the champions of my power and will help the natives of this land in order for me to give a good impression. Whatever places they visit, they will have the power to settle conflicts there (+1 mote).
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

"You have no one to blame but yourself."

A dozen voice echoed in the empty hall, their speaker unseen.

"The Idea does not preclude monarchs, it simply asks that they are just, and put the people before themselves. In reacting the way you did, you only proved how unfit you were to sit upon that throne."

The Watchman stepped out of the shadows, and stood before the dejected God King.

"It's a shame that we could not meet under better circumstances."

The God-Emperor stared silently at the Watchman before speaking.

"Why have you come here?"

There is no malice in his voices. No mockery or gloating. In fact, he almost seems to pity the God before him.

"She was right." The God wheezed, as if laughing at his own folly.

The god had seemed to age before the Watchman's eyes.

"Leave me to my sorrow."

"As you wish."

With that The Watchman was gone and walking the deserted roads of the Emperors old city. Occasionally he would see figures darting out of site as he approached, or the stragglers of the mass exodus, stopped to pack or loot. He ignored them, caught up in the thought that he had just done something unfathomably cruel. To strip a god of his domain was as good as taking a living things soul. He doubted, for a moment, if what he had done had been for the best. He shook of such thoughts, though. He had done nothing but give the people a choice, and they had made it.

Still, the broken Gods penultimate words stirred in his mind, dredging up disturbing thoughts: such as whether he had been a pawn in some bigger game. He needed to think.

"Watchers. I know you can here me."

Suddenly, a dozen grey cloaks were with him, floating in a circle.

" You three, keep an eye on things here. I have done a terrible thing to the lord of this domain. He may not be thinking clearly. Call me if he looks like he's about to do something... Regrettable.

They nodded and vanished.

"You, go to where the new city is being founded and explain the concept of inalienable rights: Life, liberty, and choice."

They flew off to the demon wall.

"You, go explain to the God Crav that there is a new city on this continent in desperate need of some aid. They're going to need a whole new city."

It flew off diligently to the south.

'The rest of you: I want to keep a look out at the Hag's island. Don't enter her domain, but watch it. I want to be informed of any changes. I have the sinking sensation that I may have been used."

The five of the flew away as stealthily as they could.

His Watcher taking care of their duties, The Watchman flew off to find somewhere to think.

He found it sooner than he expected, a veritable paradise. Whoever had crafted this piece of land had done so with tender loving care. It was breathtaking.

It had...
Uburra-Namall wrote
A few mountain ranges to the strangely shaped north and northwest regions, a few forests to the south of that, and scattered about in various indiscriminate sizes and shapes, a few plains. A dozen lakes, a half dozen rivers.
The Watchman landed on this beautiful land, and lay down on his back on the soft grass.
