I fail to see how this would be more than an interesting back-story, and possibly have an effect on it/their general personality.

It/they would be a composite of the memories from with it/they are drawn.

I suppose It/they would be harder to destroy, as it/they would likely return from other memories with a different personality...
A god that took form throught the consolidation of repressed memories that has the ability to draw upon the past in order to create fantoms of existance for short periods of time as well as access the memories and thoughts of others with ease, in fact altering them if they wish....This might be slighlty influenced by 1984 given that I have been forced to read it at least twice in the time span of less than one year.

That is interesting. If these Spirits from another world came to ours and we had to defeat them, will defeating them damage our world due to their domains?
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

There are many ways to prevent somone from altering your memories, so its not really that powerful. It would still be just as powerful as any other High god.

Hmmm..

Note to self: Make a God of Life.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

No it would just cause the final and complete utter destruction of their planet resulting in it fading away from existance.

At first, no, but eventually they would gain connection with the world.

There will only be a few migrating gods. Most of them will be born in this world.

Very true. Like Sisyphus, a Corinthian king in Greek mythology, once actually tied up Thanatos to escape death. It was only when Ares freed his fellow god that Thanatos was able to reclaim (yes REclaim) King Sisyphus for the Underworld, and people were able to die again.

I don't think so, unless they integrate themselves into the mythology of this world and establish themselves as objects of worship. The worst it would do is play havoc with their own people and former world.

This is, of course, assuming that their own world still exist. If it doesn't, then I'm pretty sure that our world will catch the blow-back.

The Greeks had Bios, the personification of life. I could see us having a god for that.

Yeah, that's also true. If they're gods from other worlds, they'd have to establish themselves as gods of the world they're currently visiting.

At least I'd think so...

Not really, but seriously, the Greeks had a god for EVERYTHING. I'm not even CLOSE to done with all them in my MythPower series.

Yeah, so it's really you guy's call.

Lets not have a god of life, because then we're one assassination away from a dead world. Every event would become an escort quest, and even an injury would play merry hell with the universe.

You proposed the creation of a god that by destroying would most likely cause an end to all living things including the god's themselves.

It's oh oh, so tempting.

Oh Mik, gods aren't really "Alive." Not in the traditional way.

Not even in most of the other ways, come to think of it.
