Alright, maybe I'll see him get more flustered once someone like Yojimbo shows up, whenever that happens. A Spirit of Conflict might have a field day with it once he sees the opportunity.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

I suppose there's a lamp in her house now?

Yes.

I morphed the lamp for a couple reasons though, one of them being to make it noticeable. The metal part liquified revealing a glass lamp beneath. Inside is a blue storm cloud that should get her attention.

In other news I;m trying out a few new accents...some made up. Maybe toss in some made up slang or racial slurs and such...Let me know if it gets out of hand or is generally terrible to read.

@Marv: What you've done so far is fine. I figure though that as a hub of culture, long-time Spectropolis residents would have perfect accents. At least, that's how certain cultural hotspots in this world are.

The underbelly of society isn't exactly sociable though. Besides, being 100% accurate o trends in the real world isn't one of my goals.

I'll be honest, I'm mostly winging it with every story I'm involved in right now. I tossed my plans right out the window. They didn't feel right anymore. Gonna keep improvising see where that takes me, might get a cool plot thing-a-ma-jig out of it.

Uburra-Namall and her folks have arrived.

Feel free to interact with them now (anyone who is around and interested). Otherwise, I can sit off to the side and wait until anybody in the pantheon is needed for plot progression.

(Is there anywhere I can put my folks to use right now?)

Are you kidding me? I've been winging everything, because my plans fell apart right after the first two or three posts. I did not expect to end up with Koneko fighting against a gang right off the bat. But it'll all work out in the end.

Good for you. As it is, I'm still trying to decide what to do with Duerkripe, though i do think that having her meet Uburra Namall would be good, but I'm still debating on that. Jhella's done for the time being and the village of Inari's in a pickle deciding what to do with Aox

I'm liking Aox more now that he has a backstory and a new problem. With the past 400 years lost to him, he is essentially stranded outside his time. Every mortal he knew is dead, his family, friends and associates. He has little to no connections and the memories of the powerful beast he'd become at the hands of Truth still haunts him.

He's gonna be soooooooooooooo brooding and sad now. But ultimately I he'll want to become a true hero. No shortcuts or powerful weapons. Just him.

.....and the Veteran's Cloak. Cause there's no way I'm giving that up. I want it to see some plot relevant use.

Hm. Not sure I want to worry about Crav just yet. I think I'll stick to a new addition to the pantheon, handling the thieves. Thanks.

Just to make sure for everyone as to my characters:

1. Jhella's with Crav learning about Gammara (No need to post anything. We can assume that anything she knows about Gammara is from him)
2. Duerkripe contacting Uburra-Namall's pantheon
3. Koneko delivering the registrations for the tournament (No need for posts as well)
4. Introduction of Corona Couture, Blodwen duQuel, Terr Shardskin and Kagehana's descendants (finished)
5. Magnas and Gravas taking Aox to Crav (In process, no posts for now)

This is all correct for my characters, n'est pas?

Just thought I'd post some thoughts on the culture of the Magocratic Empire.

They're very culturally diverse, mostly because they were originally composed of many separate nations composed into a confederacy.

It can be divided into sections.

There's the Iron Kingdom border, which is very tense. Lots of military buildup and magical war-machines.

The Old Empire border, which has many of the older cities. It used to be the hub of power, but has declined in the last two centuries in favor of the Heartland. It's much less oppressive and many of the more powerful non-sorcerers live here.

Biggest and most powerful section is the Heartland. It was originally nothing more than the breadbasket of the nation, but now it's the center of political power. In most of the larger cities, Sorcerers rule like kings, with everyone else being ground into the dust. Even in places outside of cities, they make their presence known.

The border with the Demonwall is, in the opinion of the ruling class, a festering hive of rebels. Lots of resistance movements were born here, and it's nearly impossible to root them all out.

Finally, we have the coastal area. They are very nearly independent from the Empire, simply because of their most common profession, Fishing and trade. Why is pretty simple. Anyone who goes out on the ocean frequently is going to have to make friends with the Undine. And the coastal towns have been doing this for over four hundred years. They hold yearly festivals in the Undine's honor, giving them cows and other presents.

Because of this, any attempts by Sorcererous Overlords to do nasty things generally results in upset Undines. Upsetting Undines is a good way of loosing limbs, so it doesn't happen often. True, the Sorcerers could gang up on the Undine, but that risks upsetting Waverider, which is another Really Bad Idea. This is compounded with the fact that she considers the coast of the Empire hers anyway. Lots of worshipers of her there.

If they ask Hazet to deal with the problem, then he'll ask for a bit more control over their affairs. His agenda is still to unite the nations under his control, after all.

So, for the most part, the coast is left alone. They pay taxes and allow Sorcerers to use ports and everything works out.
