Lords Of Creation (OOC)

So...

Ok, I'm trying to prod this back to life. To further that goal, I'm going to be modify the rules.

We will be returning to the point/mote system, abet modified.

You will be an abstract spiritual entity, not one of the gods. (You can create one of them, See below)

You start off with 20 points and gain 4 everyday afterwards. A day is whatever time the first IC post will be.

There will be three ages (Which start whenever I start to get bored. )

The costs of various actions vary depending on what age it is.

Actions

Actions are things you may spend your points on. These range from modifying the terrain to creating gods.

Terrain Alteration

Allows you to alter the physical terrain of a place. Mountains, Plains, Deserts, Forest, Etc.

Base cost is 1 point in the first age, 3 points during the second age and 9 points during the third age.

Because of this, it is advisable to alter the terrain as you see fit early on. Please also note that the cost will go up depending on how much area you attempt to cover with this.

=======================================

Climate Control

This allows you to alter the temperature and long term weather of an area. You can use this to turn a lush forest into a barren desert, or a frozen wasteland into a sunny grassland.

Base cost is 1 in the first age, 2 in the second and 4 in the third.

Because it's less costly, this can be used more in the successive ages.

==============================================

Create Mythical Creature

In essence, this allows you to make beings that are stronger than mere animals, but not good as races. Things like dragons and gryphons.

Mythical Creatures will also have set stats, in case anyone decides to have them fight.

Strength: Raw physical/mystical strength.
Speed: How fast are they capable of moving.
Durability: Their ability to withstand damage.
Ability: An additional supernatural ability. (Dragon's fire, a siren's song, etc.)

Note that if anyone wants to, we can expand on these rules.

Base cost is always 4. All stats default to 1, and every additional two stat points cost 1 power point. One ability is free, additional abilities cost 5 points.

Example:

Dragon
Strength: 4
Speed: 3
Durability: 4
Ability: Fiery Breath

Total cost: 4 + 2(Strength bonus) + 1 (Speed Bonus) + 2 (Durability Bonus) = 9 points.

================================

Create Race

The main goal of this. Allows you to make a sentient species. Can range from nearly normal to barely understandable.

Like Mythical Beings, Races have stats. Unlike them, however, a race's stats measure the abilities of the entire species.

Martial: This measures how well the race fights in combat and conflict. Default 1.
Knowledge: This measures how learned and intelligent the race is. Default 0.
Culture: This measures how developed and stable a race is. Default 0.

For example.

The Kathar are a mighty race. In combat, their armies are undefeated. However, the Kathar continue to use simple bronze weapons and are primarily nomadic.

Race: Kathar.
Martial: 4
Knowledge: 0
Culture: 1

The basic cost for a race is 20 in the first age, 5 in the second age and 10 in the third age.

===============================

Create God

Gods are physical representations of your will. They can act as reservoirs for your power and even increase it.

The primary purpose of gods is for them to interact with your race. This opens up several options for them.

  Raise Army
       A god can encourage a city of your chosen race to form an army. This requires a Martial score of at least 2.

      Found Religious Order
            A god can make members of your race found religious or priestly orders in their names. Every Order increases the number of points your receive each day by 1.
                        This requires a Culture score of 2.

Base cost for the god is always 10 points.

==============================

Smite

Some mortal being has angered you. This action allows you to rain destruction over an area or person.

Base cost is 2 for all ages. Increases with severity and area covered.

================================

Craft Artifact

An artifact is an object of power and importance. All artifacts have great magical power.

What exactly they do and look like is totally up to you.

Base cost is 8 for all ages.

On Gods and Domains.

"Like for me, plant and earth manipulation, like what our domain is, but not as powerful as creating tectonic plates or giant forests and stuff. Also, if something falls under your domain, like for me, creating plants, does it cost less than if, say, you were the god of lightning and you created plants? "

In simple terms, things that fall under your divine aegis are cheaper than they would be normally.

Perhaps this is excessive. Questions/Comments/Concerns?

Bout time this one got up and running again. I presume every deity/spirit from the former thread applies here (except the ones from members no longer able to participate)

Depends on what you mean. Most people, I'm guessing would prefer to use those deity/spirits as the mini-gods in this game.

So, what do you think of the rule changes?

I like the rule changes. Clearer and more concise than anything I would have thought up.

As for the Immortals, I think they should stay background characters. They have council meetings, and get up to their own exploits, but they should remain in the background, unless they come to the planet in disguise a la Zeus.

I doubt it. It's likely just to make our own version of very cool myth adventures.

Forget that, this is probably the only one thread in the entire existence of this forum that could possibly be used as a testing ground for the hands fo creation and destruction, I'm either going to stay an active lesser god, or an over active demi god with super powered items, given to me by Jester.

The ones with all the divine land changing, climate warping, race making powers won't interact with mortals. We'd be so potent, that it would have a high chance of simply killing them while communicating.

This is why we have the mini-gods. (That you make). They can appear to mortals an poke them in the appropriate direction. Even so, most of our directions would trickle down through the gods to any religious orders we have.

Sure, but you should be aware that lesser gods are weaker than the ones we play directly as.

Still in the upper reaches of reality bending...

Yep, which is why I'm leaving Jester as the planet destroying civilization dessimating, peace bringing, force of pure chaos that he was meant to be while I'll play as Nube Jester like I've been trying to do in each RP thread for the past six months.

You'll have to spend ten points from your original twenty to make the nube jester lesser god.

Also, most of the really relevant actions you take will be from the Jester-Jester's point of view.

What do you mean mix universes, all I'm talking about is the omni lord or whoever it was from the original thing.
