You pick a god, I randomly assign a god to everyone, then you split into two groups. I'll start a new thread just for this purpose. Now we just need to rope GV in for advice...
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Go ahead and pre-assign us to teams while you're at it.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

I can't identify the tone of that statement, as it can be read in many ways.
But if you wish it, so shall it be.

Oops, well that was a serious statement, I actually wanted you to do that

Do we start with full motes?

Hmmm.
Now that I read back in the thread, I kind of like Wulf's suggestion. Only, those demi-gods? Us. The island? Owned by a powerful and established lesser god. This would give us a chance to adapt to the more basic rules of the game. It could also work it's way into the story itself by having our gods run across this island later on. However, if people don't like this idea, that's fine too.

I would say, probably we do. Also, please don't start without me. I'm about to start eating dinner.

So then that means we'll all have to make more profiles. *Groan*

Which is the main issue of that.
Would anyone object to me just meshing out a selection for people to choose from? (I can do this rather quickly)

Well, if we are using Spirits from the main story and even swamping them around, then it can not really be cannon because we can not properly control other people's characters. Midas would not even be present on the world till later in the Second Age.

No, look at it this way.
You are all demi-gods far off in the new territory the Omni made. There's this Lesser god controlling an island that you all want. You decide to band together and overthrow him. This could be cannon with a fair degree of ease.

That would be fine, I have no objections to that.

If you can throw together a batch of minor Spirits for us to all use then it could work. They are going to have mood swings though when we change players.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. Mood swings, yes, but also domain changes if I don't like the domain I get. Mine will most likely wash up onto Uburra-Namall's island after this beta, and undergo a change to avoid being exterminated.

I don't think that is how it works
Zale is making the character sheets with the domains already picked. We will be randomly swapping people while we are playing in the beta adventure on the island. After the beta we go back to our main Spirits, so Uburra-Namall is not going to be present for this I don't think.

I thought the story could be canon if it worked out well...
Zale implied that with his latest post.

Yeah, but I think these Spirits are going to be their own faction once we are done with them, not ones divided to us.

If they get split up somehow, by a way outside of their control. Perhaps they fail at taking the island, get blasted apart. Or they get into an argument and split up. Or something else.
Then they could meet up to be taken in by our respective spirits. Or otherwise dealt with by their player, as we see fit.

So, you want to take whichever Spirit you end up with control of last and add them to your group? You can already add an Independent Spirit for you to control if you want. How would you explain them changing domains? Wouldn't they still have whatever domains they started with?

With which domains?
I'm picking little, minor domains to avoid clashing with anyone. Rip-Tides, Oak Trees, Fireflies, Acrobatic Dancing, Khopeshes, Caves.
