Rules?
Types of Spirits Pantheon Leader – The old Over God, most likely each member gets one. Lesser God- Having a portion of the strength of a Pantheon Leader Demi God- The weakest type of divine. Stats A Pantheon Leader starts with one point in each stat, and has six points to distribute between the four stats. A Lesser God starts with one point in three stats, and has four points to distribute between the four stats. A Demi-God starts with one point in two stats, and has two points to distribute between the four stats. Power is raw divine might. Precision is divine skill and finesse. Perception is awareness and sensory acuity. Presence is divine aura and influence. A high Power god has incredible might. They can level mountains and cause tidal waves without having to resort to petty things like Miracles. A high Precision god has incredible skill and focus. They could redesign an entire city entirely in their heads, or create a new life-form one cell at a time. A high Perception god has incredible awareness. This may manifest itself as ridiculous sensory acuity or simply utter knowledge of what's around them. A high Presence god has incredible influence. They are ineffably divine and can sway the hearts of the masses. Artifacts: Each spirit has a Tool of Office which is an Divine Artifact of great power. It is an inseparable part of their being, and attempting to take it is nigh impossible. These tools serve none but their master, and visit horrible things upon those that dare take them. A god may also use other Artifacts, Divine or otherwise. They may carry two additional Artifacts without problem. A deity must spend two posts to attune themselves to any Artifact they acquire. Artifacts:Objects of Grand Mortal Power. A Mortal may only create one of these by DM permission. Gods may spend two Miracles over five posts to create an Artifact. * Divine Artifacts: Objects of Grand Divine Power. A God may spend four miracles over ten posts to create a Divine Artifact.* Skills- Each Spirit gets Action Skills which would be used once per turn and Utility skills which would be passive. A pantheon leader has six points, a lesser god four and a demi-god two. Inherent Powers: Create life Avatar Hero Religious Order Domain Manipulation Flight/Shapeshifting (Non concealing) Gods begin with 12 motes. Pantheons share a mote pool. You gain one mote every two days. Miracle: Contains all of the following, costs 4 motes. You may use a Miracle once per day. Alter Nature – Terrain/Weather Life – Mythos, Race, Servitor Gain Domain Create Plane Raise Lesser God/Demi-God Anything else in line with this power can also be used. Miracles are meant to be impressive, world shaking events. Keep this in mind. * You need to spend that many posts describing making the object. For example, if Marv is going to make a spear forged from a lightning bolt as an Artifact, he would use a Miracle, then describe Crav working on the artifact, banging away in a forge. After he satisfied the requirements, he'd have his new artifact. Keep in mind if you spam posts, I bitch slap you.

Yes.
But if you go up to a mortal and tell them you're a deity, they may not respond correctly. "You? The goddess Mina? No way! You look nothing like them! Crazy person thinks they're a god."

Well, not so much the Presence thing, about Diplomacy checks and such. That much I get.
Just, some of the ways of becoming a god (like gods dying of old age), or being a god specifically of 'Love between John and Jane". Just, some of those bits sound a tad strange.

Sounds good. (Um, if I read the part you meant for me to read...)

That all seems like it will work except for that last part about creating artifacts. It would require 7 posts to be able to use the lowest level of artifact. I'm not sure that is the best way to make sure artifacts remain rare since I'm not sure if the process to create an artifact will be varied enough to fill up five posts.
I'd suggest using days instead of posts. Have an initial post where the Spirit begins work on making the artifact, a certain number of real world days pass, then a post where they finish the process. Between that time, if they post more, then they need to mention the work being done on the artifact. If a reason for delay appears within the time period, then the time for completion is extended. I'd also suggest that the time for attunement be either nonexistent or reduced for the Spirit who crafted the Artifact. The act of crafting the Artifact would act as part of the attunement.
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

Yeah, I think in-story days would work better than posts.

Should be real world days, our in story days are not very consistent. We either have years passing easily or we get caught up in the events of one day for months.

Real world days are just as ineffective. If we get caught on a certain moment, 3 days irl could pass and only seconds would pass in the game. Effectively allowing someone to instantaneously craft an artifact.

How about this: You have to say you're creating the artifact, but you don't have to spend your posts working on it.
The order goes: Declare that you are crating a divine artifact. Post the number of turns necessary, during which you can use no divine actions or skills. Actual manifestation of artifact. Like a pregnancy.

Sounds good. But for the number of posts necessary, what do you do for the time in between if it doesn't have to be used crafting? Maybe focus somewhere else in your pantheon?
Ex: Step 1. Uburra-Namall declares she wants to create an object. Step 2. Jassi looks in on Draias and company to see how they're doing. Step 3. Introduce finished object. Something like that?

Essentially, but I don't think you're getting me. You, The player, declare you are creating a divine artifact the same way you would declare any divine action. At the bottom, in parenthesis. After that, the post countdown starts and you, the player, can no longer use divine actions of skills.
For convenience, please label the countdown at the bottom of each post. 5, 4, 3, 2,..... At the end of the countdown, you can do the actual creating of the artifact.

Hum.
Six, Four, Two. Rank is a rank.

I just wanted to avoid having people pop artifacts out like they're something trivial.
Your idea works well with me. It leaves them vulnerable. Real world days are not something I want, simply because it's way to easy. I went with posts because that seemed like a nicely meta method, because it means you actually have to do something. Not simply wait.

Works for me.
This is for if someone steals an artifact, or finds it. Oh, I also need to include rules for gathering additional motes.. religions.. and alter a few things..

Understood. In hindsight, that should have been obvious.

The Watchman
Pantheon Leader Domains: The Oppressed and Just Causes Power: 2 Precision: 2 Perception: 5 Presence: 1 The Man in the Dark (Passive) (3) The Watchman has an uncanny ability to place himself where he will not be noticed, even among the gods. Strength of the Cause (Passive) (3) For as long as the Watchman is pursuing a cause that it righteous and just, he may add this skill to any of his stats to represent the fervor it fills him with. =Tool Of Office= The Watchman’s Mask completely shrouds his identity so thoroughly that it is impossible to tell whether he has been slain or not. So long as one of the masks exits, a new Watchman will be created with all of the original memories. Potentially any Watcher is the Watchman.

Waverider
Pantheon Leader Domain: Sea and Sea Life Power: 4 Precision: 1 Perception: 2 Presence: 3 Sea Sense (Passive) (3) While within a body of water connected to the sea, Waverider may add this skill to her perception to sense dangers to sea life or the ocean. Water Nature (Passive) (1) Waverider takes to water like.. well, a fish. She may survive in any part of the ocean, from the shallows to the depths, comfortably and swim faster than most boats. Wrath (Active) (2) The fury of a sea goddess is a mighty thing. Waverider may use this skill to create natural disasters that involve the ocean or storms. She may also use this to empower an already existing natural disaster. The effects of this power peter out after two turns. =Tool of Office= Waverider's tool of office is a fishing spear, the head of which is carved from a giant shark's tooth. It allows her to both communicate with and command the creatures of the sea. While her tool has no limit to the number of creatures it may control, it is limited to the mass. A single Kraken is about it's limit, but it could control millions of tiny fish or such. (Everything check out? Waverider is basically someone who smashes shit up when she gets mad. Very aware of dangers to her domain, but sharply limited outside of it, as fitting my desired theme. Strong within the Ocean, pitiful outside it. )
