Why does that sound familiar?

Almost like someone I know.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

I know right!

I can't for the life of me put my finger on who, though.

See that?

It looks like a lovely piece of jewelry that looks an awful lot like a bug, huh?

Guess what.

It is a bug.

Not just a dead and bejeweled bug, but a living, breathing bug used as jewelry.

By the way, the bugs themselves are fine. They're called Ironclad beetles in english and have one of the hardest exoskeletons in the insect world.

Some of them would need a drill to even penetrate their shells..

So, a few glued on gemstone probably aren't even noticeable.

Though, most people would be wigged out by the thought of wearing bugs.

Hehe...THAT'S what I call jewelry. I would totally give that to someone.

....Now what would the stereotypical reaction of an American girl towards that bug jewelry?

It's gold and covered in precious jewels.

my point being that it's a contradiction, like a guy's reaction to a pink machine gun covered in flowers that is capable of plowing through a brick wall in three seconds, with a mounted blade for close range combat.
