I think you mean welcome back.
She had made an account before, but due to not having posted, it was accidentally banned. I corrected this mistake, and so she (and a few others) have been let back in. All has been resolved, with the exception of those annoying trolls who were rightfully banned.

Yeah, I know, but it has its caveats.
Like, for example, I had to handle a guy just now. Trungnguyen. Trying to advertise on the site about learning Japanese and stuff. I didn't ban him, but instead changed his status to 'Troll'. It means he can still come to the site, and his account is technically still active, but he can't do anything beyond view the site.

So that's what happened.
I did found it a bit weird that I was banned by default for not posting anything. Which I only found out when I wanted to post for the first time. At first I decided that this forum with such a level of irony had to be evil. Which was kinda confirmed, when around the time of registration, my e-mail account suddenly received many phishing e-mails. You know, the kind that lead to official looking websites that try steal your game account and password (WoW, RuneScape,...).

Hmmm, I think Omnipotent Power Mimicry* would be interesting.
That way, I could try lots of different powers, without being too overpowered (unless I chose an overpowered power, but I'm talking about the normal choices).
Bow before your unimaginably powerful overlord!

I was the one who banned you for not posting anything for too long after you registered... As for the phishing emails, you should create and use a different email account for the forums, one you won't mind if you are sent spams, as trolls can use this forum to send emails to any registered user, and there's no way around it. Well, be assured, we are not, er, um...evil.
It's mostly a defense mechanism to prevent being overcrowded with folks who are potentially up to no-good. The irony of it all, it ended up with us thinking your account was bogus, and you thinking our forum was bogus. Both parties mistakenly thought the other was no good... But, um, yeah, I think I have come up with a pretty good remedy for that problem in the future. So hopefully, no worries.

Sorry about that. Any way I can make it up for you on the behalf of the forum?

No need.
I understand now why Vespert banned users that didn't post. At first I didn't see the point. Because why stop someone from posting who doesn't post? But I see now that you need to be logged on to e-mail a user through the forum. So if you want to stop the trolls, then ok, I get it. But now I wonder if a banned account really can't e-mail users through the forum. Someone who registered and got banned can still logon.

If labeled as a troll, they can't do anymore than view the site. No posting or responding or making threads.

Er... but they can still send emails, can't they? There's no permission for that, so I wonder...

Not that it matters. Just don't respond. Most of them are pretty easy to point out as trolls.

To return to the topic of the general discussion.
If only 1 power can be picked.... A power that comes close to Omniscience would be nice. As long it doesn't come with major headaches... If you know about everything then that would solve a lot. For example. Through knowledge you can : 1) obtain other powers (f.e. genetic research, know how to steal powers, ...) 2) get rich (f.e. know the place of hidden treasures) 3) know how to build machines for timetravel or other neat stuff. Etc. Knowledge really is the key to power.

Teleportation is indeed quite awesome. And if you've seen the movie "Jumper" then you know how awesome it could be.

And prevent the long car-trips.
And lower greenhouse gas emissions if a bunch of people had it..

Good for the environment.
But it's also a power that can lead to a lot of problems. People could teleport into any locked home. Or into a bank vault to steal everones money. And you wouldn't be even able to catch the thieves. Cause you know, they'd teleport away. If a lot of people had it then at least there should excist some way to defend against it.

Depends on if the power had always existed, or if the power just suddenly existed.
