Casper, the Black Cat
Race: Cat (Psychic)
Gender: Male
Class: Spirit Medium (Familiar)
Master: Phasma Geist (Human)

Strength (Str) Low
Dexterity (Dex) High
Constitution (Con) Low
Intelligence (Int) High
Wisdom (Wis)  Mid
Charisma (Cha) Mid

Abilities (these he has from the start, and simply get stronger over time)
Speech: Casper is capable of speaking and understanding the language of a humanoid (in addition to the language of the animals)
Familiar Link: Casper is psychically linked to Phasma; he can sense her thoughts, emotions and intentions, unless she willingly blocks them from him; the same applies vice versa; due to this bond, he has learned to speak, and knows every language Phasma knows; and as he gets stronger, he allows Phasma to understand animals.
Spirit Sense: Casper is capable of perceiving disembodied entities at will, and discern their nature (spirits/ghosts, demons, etc.); as he gets stronger, he can even sense them before they manifest on the Material Plane
Magic Sense: Casper may also perceive whenever magicks are afoot; the source, the type, on what they were used, how potent, etc.; as he gets stronger, he can even detect impending magic use
Domination Immunity: Casper is immune to being possessed by spirits, demonic entities or the like; he cannot even channel similar-alignment spirits, as his master can; he is also immune to animal-controlling powers and charm abilities.
Magic Immunity: Any magic used directly toward him will undoubtedly fail. Spells, hexes, charms, jinxes, potions, etc. are useless to directly use against him. He can be harmed physically, however, and can even harmed by magical weapons, but with magical weapons, they only deal damage as regular weapons.
Feline Abilities: Claws and teeth, as per normal cat, allow Casper to scratch and bite foes (though, due to his human-like intelligence, he makes sure to keep teeth and claws especially sharpened at all times); he is also exceptionally dextrous, capable of climbing trees to survey, and avoiding many direct forms of harm with ease. He also possesses a normal cat's senses, heightened when combined with Phasma's, and can translate to Phasma what the animals say.
Feline Weakness Immunity: Due to his link with Phasma, Casper has overcome his fear/dislike of rain and other bodies of water (learning how to swim as best his feline body will allow), his fear of dogs and loud noises, and is working to overcome his overwhelming urges in the presence of catnip (and other cats). He is still determined that he will someday learn how to work around his handicap of having no opposable thumbs, and not being able to easily walk upright.

I think this is fair.

Hope Zale agrees.

Oh, what?

The only thing that bothers me is the magic immunity, but that shouldn't come up unless you use him as a feline shield or something.

Neither Casper nor Phasma would want him to be used as a shield...

Exactly. So no, Jester, you may not.

There is a huge difference between a familiar being immune to magic and a combative character being immune to magic.

No actual character gets it.

The only reason CASPER even gets it is because he's a rare breed that was bred by Phasma's family. They naturally have those capabilities.

Zale has the last say so, and a while back he already said I could have something similiar anyway.

Yeah, I'm sure he'd LOVE to see YOU play a character with that kind of immunity. Just about as much as he'd like you or Neo to make a character that can NEGATE magic.

As a matter of fact, I think I'll make one.

Class: Magehater.

Re: Generic Fantasy Roleplay Knowledge Thread

jester_of_god
and once again I said I wouldn't be immune to pretty much most magic.

As in, I would still be affected by all elemental magic, weaponized magic, and manifestation magic. Just other magics like mind control, curses, time stops, would have either a dulled or weakened affect, along with pretty much all poisons.

I am so glad that Soul Masters use skills, not magic. Also, be careful what you choose to do, lest a magic negation wars begins. Anyway, what were you intending with Caspers magic immunity? While he may be a cat, that affords him decent protection against mages with low strength(He is a cat so avoiding them would be easy enough) and allows you to exploit his advantages to Phasma. I request that it just be changed to medium-high magic resistance on all forms of magic. Not just plain immunity.
