I started an RP in my own forum that I would like to bring to the Superpower List Forum. This RP won't start for a long time since we still have so many RPs in progress and in planning. However, I wanted to use this thread to see if there was any interest in my idea. Also, I would appreciate any help in revising my idea or any additions you think it might need. We could also use this thread to choose powers if there is enough interest in this RP.

Here is the story I used in my forum. (Any help in revising it is much appreciated):

Everyone will begin the RP as an ordinary person without superpowers. One day the Earth receives a broadcast from some unknown alien civilization. They ask for the immediate surrender of all Earth’s resources. Of course, we refuse to just hand over our precious resources and an all out war of the worlds commences. In the resulting invasion, the invaders (the Darmanites) begin to build bases and outposts in deserted areas.
Soon a complication arises from the Darmanites presence on Earth. Their equipment generates a unique kind of radiation that has odd effects on the organisms of Earth. The first victims of the radiation were animals that lived near Darmanite outposts. The animals mutated into large dangerous creatures with strange abilities. Soon the radiation infiltrated cities through the air and water and people were exposed to it. Because of humans’ complex biology, the effects varied. The majority of people were unaffected, some were made sick and others died. A small percentage of the global population however was affected in ways that gave them superpowers or changed their biology. These mutants were feared by the normal humans and became outcasts, but their powers were the only way Earth could defeat the Darmanites. Realizing this, a mysterious person known as “Prime” contacts several mutants (that would be you guys) through mass telepathy and plans to bring them together.
This is where our story begins…

I will play the part of Prime.
Your mission is to follow the telepathic broadcasts of the mysterious person known as “Prime”. He will guide all the mutants together. Since he is using mass telepathy to communicate to all of you, you cannot communicate back to him.


Groups and Factions to be aware of:
EDF – The Earth Defense Force. When the invasion began the government put the EDF into action. They are equipped with high tech weaponry and have lots of resources for taking down the Darmanites. For the most part they ignore the human mutants, but will attack if they interfere.

Darmanites – The invading alien race. The Darmanites are strange humanoid aliens that have incredibly high tech weapons and tools. Their skin is a pale orange color and is very thick. Their thick skin provides increased defense against physical damage. In addition to their thick skin, the warriors Damanites are equipped with high tech battle armor, communication gear, and an assortment of weaponry. The Darmanite also employ a robotic drone called a Chimera. Chimeras are fast, tough and deadly. More information on chimeras will be uncovered as the story progresses.

Mutated Creatures – Animals that have been affected by the Darmanites radiation. Throughout your travels you may encounter these mutated creatures. Their biology and abilities vary for every creature.

MHDF -  The Meta Human Defense Force. This organization is out to capture or eliminate all the mutants because they believe they are on the Darmanites side. The MHDF is a government funded operation with considerably less resources available to them than the EDF. They make up for their lack of technology with officers that despise mutants and will stop at nothing to capture them. Occasionally the MHDF will acquire EDF weaponry and use it in their pursuit of mutants.

What power level are you looking for in abilities?

Like I said this won't start for a long time. I just wanted some input on it.

X-Men type power levels. This isn't going to be a super-superpower RP

Sounds really interesting, sorry that I haven't checked on your forum much.

Could I have Shapeshifting, but only with the power to turn into a Darmanite. That should be pretty interesting.

Sure, shapeshifting into a darmanite would be interesting. Also, since it will be a very long time before this starts, any help with revising or adding to the story would be appreciated.

The story you have so far is really good. Do you have a plan for what to do after the team gets together?

For my shapeshifter, can he be able to shapeshift into any variation of darmanite. So that those guys don't figure out what i look like transformed and my power becomes less useful.

Sure variations are fine and yes I do have a plan for what happens after everyone meets. I've been working on a few general story lines depending on what the characters do.

Some things I've learned is to make sure there is always a goal, Don't make it so complicated so that people can't post, and try to keep it from being dependent on a certain character or the whole thing will fall apart if that person doesn't post.

Prof. X......I mean Prime  Will be able to help train my character with his powers right.

I'm thinking of having my character be stuck in Alien form until he meets up with everyone and they help him unlock the shapeshifting part.

Yes, Prime will help you train your powers.

X-men kind of went dragon ball later in the series but I thinkk I get what you mean, I think I'm either going psychic, or wolverine esque regeneration, maybe a combination of the two.

Just remember that if you have a combination then both powers will be severely limited.
