Ok, then here's my character, Kagome, right now:

Core: Weapons
Overdrive: "Reinokiba" - the spirit of Kagome's weapon extends out to hunt down a foe
Side-Effect: Anything Kagome's power affects glows blue, subtle until she knows about her core.

What would a chaos core, an author core, an illustrator core, a spirit core, a demon core, a matter core, a space core, an entrophy core, a thief core, a creation core, a law core, a death core, a soul core, a mind core, or a destruction core do?

The power depends on how you develop it as much as what type of Core it is. For example, Dryad's Weapons Core will work differently if she focuses on Swords than if she developed the Core by using guns.

I suggest not using these Cores for various reasons (Author, illustrator, Matter, Space, Entropy, Creation, Law, Soul, Mind, Destruction)

(Chaos, Spirit, Demon, Thief, Death) Could be made to work. I suggest trying out the Thief core, you could develop it to make it more chaotic, and you could get some interesting skills at the higher levels.

Does anyone else want to discuss their Overdrive options or how you're going to develop your Cores?

I'd like to eventually be able to set up JRPG battlefields and make people take turns and have visible HP and MP and things like that.

The visible Hp and Mp and things like that could develop as something only you can see at first, then as you gain more power, something you can show others.

The locking people into taking turns would most likely be higher level though, since you're trapping people in the game.

Can he also have some sort of Equip screen. So he wears armor and has a weapon, so his DEF and ATK stats go up, but he dosen't actually wear them? Or an Item screen he can access? At high level, of course.

What kind of Overdrive would I have?

@Vault: Yes. What kind of starting skills are you thinking of for before you get to the higher levels of power.

@Zale: Depends. If you focus on books ability to store information, you may get an Overdrive where you create a vortex of letters to suck something into the book, or summon something out. If you focus on the physical properties of Books, you may get an Overdrive in which you cause Library shelves to grow around you and you overwhelm the opponent with books.

Can't really think of any that would go with this "RPG" path I seem to have gone down. At least, none that don't seem overpowered. I'm open to suggestions.

I'm talking about the very opening when you've gained brand new powers. After the first couple events you can develop actual powers.

Also, the Overdrives I'm suggesting are just suggestions, I'm going to encourage coming up with something creative.

Also, does your world have video games? That's a pretty big part of her.

Yes there are video games. The tech level of the world varies due to how large it is, but the tech is pretty good at the starting zone.

Yeah, I'm trying to find the right balance between having unknown undeveloped powers that just emerged and still making sure you guys have some powers during the opening.

Name: Ailita Syo

Ailita doesn't have that many friends. She's just not popular. She's got a horrible self image and sees insults in everything. She hears pity and condensation in every complement. So she lashes out, insults people, yells, and get's really screechy. She decided long ago that this world and the people in it are all stupid. Paradoxically, she also craves acceptance, and is prone to bouts of incredible generosity. She treats relationships like games, and thinks that you build one through things like "Steps" and "Tiers" and that, if she just does the right things, it will lead to the result she wants. She's not good at this, and every person she drives away only reinforces her issues in a Ouroboros of self-inflicted misery.

She much prefers Video games to real life, and sometimes locks herself away for days at a time playing them. She's Famous on the internet as the famous "Boss-Breaker Syo," known for her unprecedented victories over several neigh impossible bosses. One such occasion saw her completely embarrassing the highest selling MMO on the planet by beating it new endgame boss, a full 60 man raid, all by herself in a grueling twelve hour battle just 14 hours after it was implemented. This just comes naturally to her, she just seems to know how to beat them.

Since you mentioned internet and the game I should give some facts about the world.

Due to how large the world is, many of the civilizations on the planet have not even heard of each other. The city/nation you all live in only has familiar contact with one other nation in the neighboring biome, and the relationship is not good.
