We certainly can. Just let me know what School of Magic you'd like to be in and we'll get you started.

I'm having trouble deciding between summoning, charms, and enchantment.  Do you have any advice?

Well, all three are excellent choices. With Enchantment you'll rely mostly on items that you've created with your magic and you'll have to set aside time to create those items.

Summoning is great if you learn enough spells to summon a multitude of different creatures. Of course, you'll have to abide by my discretion on which creatures you can summon to keep things fair. I believe that we also have one other Summoning Student, but he rarely posts.

Charms are a bit difficult since they have a very limited range of effects, but can also be very useful. It's important to note that the group has an NPC friend who is a Charms student and assists with her charms.

Excellent, You can define your character in this thread or describe them in a post in the RP. You'll also need to create a mage tool since the rest of the participants have already found their in the RP.

I'll find the creation sheet for mage tools in just a second

Also, would you like a run down of the events so far or do you want to jump in and find out things as you go.

Here's the creation form for Mage Tools. Feel free to ask any questions.

Marvelous Miscreant wrote
Mage Tool Creation Form:

Object:  (A mage tool can be any small or medium sized object. Anything bigger than yourself is no good unless you’ve got a really good reason. Weapons are an iffy subject as they detract from the whole point of being a Mage and will only be allowed if you have a good reason.)

Effect: (An effect is a minor change that is applied to all your spells when they are focused through your tool. Effects can be basic things like a power boost or speed boost, or creative like making all your spells tinged a certain color or affect certain objects more critically.)

Unique Ability: (A tool’s unique ability must be something related to it or your school of magic. Nothing too powerful. Staffs, wands and generic jewelry such as necklaces and rings lack a unique ability and instead increase the power of a spell by concentrating it. This is due the commonality of staffs, wands and jewelry as Mage tools. Remember…Unique Tool = Unique Power. )

Personality: (Mage tools each have a personality and consciousness. They will communicate to you and only you through the transfer of emotion and thoughts in the form of images, smells, tastes, and feelings)

Examples of Mage Tools:
A feather that becomes a pair of wings and boosts magic when flying
A book that can trap spells or rituals in its pages
A pair of glasses that change the way you see magic and its properties, while focusing your spells through the lenses.
A glove that becomes a gauntlet to deliver powerful spell punches.

This seems a little fiery but could I do this?

Object:  A lighter

Effect:  A flame, that can not harm anything living or animated, but can melt metal, (for forging purposes), or be toned down for use with wood and the like.  When on, floats, and can provide resistance for objects being forged.

Unique Ability: Creation, where the user feeds it magical power and it transforms it into metal.

Personality: Loves small trinkets, nick-knacks, and jewelry and drives the user to collect them and create them.  Prefers to give the ones it creates to others, or sell them.

Sure, that seems fine. Now, currently in the RP Most of the student have gathered with the headmaster to be told more about the enemy that has been attacking the College.

You can either join them, or wander the school to do whatever you like.

Nope, just post about you character joining the rest of the group. They've stepped through a door created by the headmaster that is magically linked to a different area. You'll have to go through that door to reach them.

Sure.

The main parts so far....

-The students had their first day of classes and learned a few spells. At dinner that night they were attacked by a swarm of giant spiders. Together the students managed to defeat the Mother spider which promptly turned all the other spiders into husks. The husks were analyzed to be constructs created by a powerful force of magic. After a few days of school and a little waiting the students decided to take matters into their own hands and learn more. The headmaster suggested they check the forbidden section. The forbidden section proved to be informative. It held a large mural that told the history of the school and showed a dark force lurking beneath the school. After escaping the forbidden section which proved to be rather difficult the student had some time to think. They traveled to town and had some adventures down there before returning. Weeks later the students were attacked by a papery being called Kyrse, he cured many students and wreaked havoc before be burned down by Billy (one of the students). However he managed to to free several unknown entities before dieing. Kyrse also hinted that his master would be attacking the school. The headmaster has now called for the college to basically go to war and defend itself from these forces that are attacking. He brought the remaining students to the mural in the forbidden section to explain who or what this enemy is and to prepare the students for what is about to come.

Interesting, an Enchanter/Forger, and the mage tool seems to compliment the idea.

What did you mean by "can provide resistance for objects being forged"
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Physical resistance.  Like floating.  The point is largely a portable forge, and I am not carrying around an anvil and table everywhere I go.

Alright

I suggest you look at the RP creator thread and the new Monsters on the Run thread, that mini-RP just started if you want to try and get involved more.

Just know that you still won't be able to create an item instantaneously. It still takes time to enchant something. So if you want something, create it before you go into battle.
