on a side note I really need a way to overpower reality anchoring....wait a second, shouldn't reality anchoring be a sub power of reality manipulation any way, in that it is countering another's reality manipulation by constantly maintaining the reality of a set area....either way it should at least be able to get overpowered.

Just thought of something----can Delilah spin to fly or drill into the ground?

@Wish: She can fly if her power is boosted by a power booster (to increase her gyration power) and then spins at top speed; and in order for her to dig/drill, she usually dives like an Olympic diver...
@WHD: actually, you kinda CAN overpower Reality Anchoring if you wanna be a jerk to everybody else; you could anchor reality to the point that no superhuman ability could be used that wasn't being used prior to the anchoring; you could even enhance the anchor to UNDO any changes made to reality prior to the anchoring @Jester: Maiden is not necessarily going to be in the story; if so, she'd be an experiment gone horribly wrong; but if she is involved in the story, she'll likely go against another powerful character, so we'll keep Jester in mind...

Is Dianno overpowered or is she balanced enough?
|
no, in a world of demons lightning men, four armed strongmen, elementals, invvisibles, and shapeshifters she is not overpowered.

You ask if the person who could play baseball with a bus and minivans is overpowered?
Specifically, She'd just keep getting stronger and stronger... Resistant to TK, and also regenerative powers. Great deal of stamina. And no discernible weaknesses.... Then we have a reality bender.. So, what are our main little group supposed to do? They have a Could-punt-superman-into-orbit level strong woman who seems to share their goals. She's already taken down several overlords, why not just kick back and relax someone warm and let her finish off these?

@Wish and Zale: Yeah, Dianno is very powerful (incredibly so), but Maiden is a bad guy. She's gonna start off just kinda jaded in the care of a scientist (Eddie Bryant or the original guy who discovered the Evolutionist's Stone, you choose), but when she discovers that they really want to use her as a weapon (for the President, mind you), I intended her to go berserk and murdify everyone in sight (except Virago, who can resist Maiden's effects due to the production of psionic energy, which Maiden was designed to be unable to manipulate); Virago follows suit in wreaking havoc at first (because I just love the thought of telekinetic berserker rage), but then realizes her wrongs and tries to work with our heroes to correct it...
I recommend that if Dianno is included (which is more than likely gonna be the case if I'm the primary narrator by the time we reach that point), then Maiden and Virago are included as well. Dianno is resistant, but not totally immune to telekinesis, meaning Virago has potential to put her down; however, if Virago is a good guy (eventually) and so is Dianno, then they'd make a pretty freakin' powerful team. And against a rabid reality bender, that's one heck of an action story. So...whaddya think of my plan?

All of those characters are the strong characters just like in any story.
However we can balance them out by only giving them fights against each other while the main drama is focused on the other supers confronting the overlords/president/other villains. So basically we downplay their "screen time" only pulling them in to create plot points such as the character causing chaos in the fortress so that the main characters can escape or they stall the main villains army or weapon of mass destruction---occasionally we can use them as the David vs Goliath scenario where the strongest warriors of each side do battle to avoid bloodshed etc. Judging from how the story is going on the overlords are more manipulative vs actually strong----most of the time---so there would be no problem with the overlords having minions that are "stronger" than them so this will not ruin the plot by having them fight these strong characters while the designated leader confronting the overlords. Also if worse comes to worse....we can keep these characters for the sequel---or part 2---because that would give a new credible threat to the main characters who by then have somewhat closed the power gap or have become way higher in intelligence to compensate for weaker powers.. |

Well, I think that the three are just fine as they are, and should be used as Wish recommended. My only problem with any of them is that their abilities couldn't be used in any other manifestation (they're too powerful for normal or long-term interaction); but still, they're going to be involved, as long as they are used discreetly and wisely.
1) Maiden and Virago are automatically going to start off in the care of a scientist (either Eddie Bryant or the scientist that Bug created in the plot development, who has somehow discovered a longevity elixir or something; may even be that Eddie Bryant takes from that scientist's findings) 2) Maiden and Virago are involved in one of numerous weapons programs, which they think are doing tests to help better mankind or assist the army or something; upon finding out that they've been deceived, they go amuck and eventually do battle. 3) Dianno is coming from Canada and bashing some Overlord tail when she runs into the two, and they somehow tangle her/him into the whole mess, doing massive damage in the process. 4) Virago comes to terms with the destructive nature of her rampage, and turns to help Dianno with her conquest against the Overlords/Warlords, with Maiden being the envious, hateful, wicked antagonist. 5) They will likely meet in Boston or New York or somewhere in New England (not under Ella Camphrey, Chris Parker or The DeMonte sisters)

Erm... microwaves are hardly the fire blasts you make them out to be. They're really just light.
Anyways, I was thinking that this character would be a high-ranking member of a resistance movement, but not really a leader. Maybe in Boston, but it doesn't particularly matter. I left a few spaces blank because I couldn't think of anything, I can go back and fill them in if you'd like, but I'd prefer to keep it open for purposes of flexibility. ===Character=== Name- Grant Damon Nick Name/Alias- =Appearance= Height- 5' 9" Weight- 179 lb Gender- Male Chronological Age- 34 Biological Age- 34 Skin Color- Pale caucasian Eye Color- Hazel Hair Color- Light brown, starting to drift towards gray. Species- Superhuman (Human Mutant) Other- Nothing in particular =Psychology= Likes- Dislikes- Phobias- Xenophobia Personality- Grant Damon is not the easiest person to get along with. For starters, he's a paranoid xenophobe, making it very, very difficult to earn his "trust" (which for him means only a passive suspicion that you're an overlord's informer), he remains immensely secretive around all except for those who he has known for a long, long time. And even for these people it's not a cakewalk to deal with Grant. He's the kind of guy who thinks he knows how to do everything better than everybody else (although he's not the type who believes he can do everything better), which leads him to constantly question leadership decisions, belittle the efforts of equals or inferiors, and generally get everyone pissed off. Despite this, for those who really know him well, Grant isn't a bad guy. His negative tendencies are really just powered by an intense drive to keep the resistance safe. =Skills= Knowledge- Skills- Nonskills- =Superpowers!= Power- Vocakinesis (Control over his voice) Sub-powers- Mimicry (Can perfectly mimic any voice or noise he's heard) Sub-powers- Ventriloquism (Able to make his voice sound as if it's coming from different places) Sub-powers- Volume Control (Simply enough, his voice can be made incredibly soft or unnaturally loud) Sub-powers- Vibration (The vibrations of his sounds can be used to shatter objects like glass, or anything else with a crystalline structure [might want to check the science on this]) Power Scale- 3 (There's nothing too powerful about it, and the Vibration is very limited in use) Control Scale- 10 (Absolutely perfect control over every aspect of his voice) Celebrity Claim: unknown male model

like the new character; and his power Vocakinesis is actually on the RP wiki already, under Biokinesis (a variation I called Phonokinesis)...just thought I should mention that; great minds think alike.

Its not actually fire blasts.
Its the combination of superheating air to make air blasts and combined with the ability to set things on fire through vibration.---which makes it look like fire blasts. |
@Shadowulf: Oh, nice. Didn't see that there.
@Wish: Then why didn't you make it say that? Microwaves are light. Not superheated air or vibrations.

Yeah the wiki should probably be in your bookmarks if you're looking for creativity in the field of superhuman abilities. Some of the stuff is also on a site called Activating Evolution (which I used to contribute to...see here http://theories.activatingevolution.org/swiki/wiki/index.php/Category:Anomalistic_Abilities) but the info on the RP wiki is more current and more thorough...
