Dr. Neil's Companion

===Character===

Name--Johnathan Wu

Nick Name/Alias-- the Infomant

=Appearance=

Height-- 5'4"

Weight-- 150 lb

Gender-- Male

Chronological Age--15

Biological Age-- 15

Skin Color-- Medium Tan

Eye Color-- Brown

Hair Color-- Black

Species-- Superhuman (Human Mutant)

Other--Wears glasses but is not totally blind without them

=Psychology=

Likes-- Helping people, blueberry jam, watching quiz shows on tv(if they get access to television), naps

Dislikes-- People that hurt others, using his skills for evil, suffering,

Phobias--Prone to panic attacks when his power goes out of control

Personality-- Like Dr. Neil, Johnathan is a pacifist but unlike Dr. Neil, he is more active in wanting to help people even if there is no possibility for gain. For example he would give info to aid people from escaping various overlords. His alignment would be neutral good. Unlike Dr. Neil he would rather have "real food" rather than hunting outside to avoid capture. He is an orphan adopted by Dr. Neil and he has great empathy for others even without powers which only appeared recently after exposure to Dr. Neil's powers. He thinks that perhaps superpowers are contagious.

Fighting Style-He can punch, kick, shove, and struggle if forced to but he would rather run and he is rather good at running. He can also dodge hits using his power. He has a general "radar" allowing him to figure out which path to take--especially in a forest--since he would be able to map the forest using his ability

How he uses his powers-Mainly to assist Dr. Neil in detecting for possible patients but what he usually gets from his powers is detection of people's stress and suffering as such his power tells him if something is wrong with the place they are staying at, in addition he uses his ability to find the location of people to get help, he rarely tries to actively detect emotions even though it has useful applications such as lie detection

=Skills=

Knowledge-- Some surgical knowledge---due to being near Dr. Neil, knowledge of several bits of trivia, skilled informant, knowledge of anatomy again because of Dr. Neil

Skills-- Parkour/free running(due to living as an orphan for a few years), good at calming people down, good storyteller, can sneak information to other people(ie give hints etc) without getting caught, can clean a wound and create makeshift splints, knows how to operate a 2 way radio and how to use a telegraph with his shortcut sheet, can condense vast amounts of information in a few sentences

Nonskills--Never learned how to fight practically and is aversive to firearms

=Superpowers!=

Power-"Analysis Particles" (Body secretes tiny invisible particles into the air that relay information back into his mind about organisms from the environment around him; the particles spread like a virus quickly giving him any information that he wants about his current situation however he can only naturally receive feedback from a finite range)

Properties of Particles:(Note like Dr. Neil's powers this is a "psychokinetic effect" that cannot be replicated by normal science, there is no actual virus however methods or quarantine and superhuman immune systems will be able to block the effects of his power so for the purposes of the story it is treated as a virus)

Transmission--The "particles" can be spread through the air and fluids--this virus can be carried by any organic host but
normally the "virus" is dormant in bacteria since it doesn't have the environment needed to reproduce it can infect plant
as well and he can detect changes in plants as well as animals

Passive Feedback--The "particles" send any and all data it gets--the particles get data by detecting chemical changes
inside the host and the particles send data to each other giving a complete map of the organism

Dormant Spores--The particles become dormant spores after away from him for a while--these store info about the person
based on his memory--ie he can recognize people by the strain of "virus" that is in their bodies, using the spores he can
detect info and compare it to the last "log" ie the last time he saw the person
blood transfusions with spores from another person can confuse his senses for a while since there will be conflicting data
within a person and he will be unable to get any info until the the "virus strains" cross with each other to form a new
strain--however this can fool him if the original transfusee never met him before--ie would only have one strain in the body

Location: Can sense the location of his spread particles within his immediate vicinity

Sub-powers-Emotion Detection--Can detect the chemical changes in a person's brain thus allowing him to detect a person's emotions(Can pass through the blood brain barrier)--this includes physical pain and lies(truth detector)

Sub-powers: Person Detection-Can recognize individual strains of his particles in people thus even if a shapeshifter changes entire DNA they would still be detected due to the strain within them, in addition he can detect the location of a person within relative distance to him

Sub-powers:Physical Condition Detection:Can detect a person's physical condition including but not limited to fatigue, hunger, thirst, sugar levels, electrolytes, blood pressure, and even the location of damaged tissues, can even detect cancer

Sub-powers-Movement Detection--Can detect movements of electrolytes into muscles for contraction and combined with ability to detect location of the particles within a person's body he can predict movements to a certain degree--his power only detects chemical changes not electronic nerve signals so he can only tell which muscles are being/will be used in the near future just enough to be able to dodge instinctively if he focuses

Knowing about all the above gives an edge in hand to hand fighting but just like Dr. Neil fighting using his powers this is rather out of character

Power Scale-- 10 (Extremely powerful in its context since it can find out almost anything about something organic aside from seeing thoughts)
Control Scale-- 7 (Prone to "losing it" due to his power since he can feel the suffering of people with this power akin to what a telekinetic may sometimes feel and often has to be calmed down---He always gets some passive flow of information with his power but he can actively use his power to get more information)

I can't think of an actor/model/singer off the top of my head that fits this description right now---I don't really know a lot of entertainers

Think I'll move the Hierarchy of Assassins folks over here. They could use their own pics, anyhow. So, I'll get on that.

Okay, so I've been thinking...

I probably should not waste so much time constructing the profiles of folks I don't intend to be important to the story. I think I'll just fill them in with 'Mook' for plot identification purposes. That way, you guys can sort of get a general idea of what to expect from them in the story.

It's not a waste if you enjoy it.

*ahem* I really DON'T enjoy it, except for the characters who actually matter to the story. Or, at least, for the ones I intend to matter.

Like, as in, where we'll actually have something of a chance to go into their backstory some...

Re: Characters (cont.)

Gentleman Vaultboy
Gentleman Vaultboy
Terminally Unlucky Empowered Individual

Since the tumultuous day known across the world as Dark Friday this young man has been continually adrift on as ocean of uncertainty, pulled in some direction only by the cruel winds of fate. Effectively homeless, he has been, in some minor capacity, involved in all the events that have taken place on Earth, always against his wishes and never ending up in a place that was better than where he started. From becoming a plague zombies not a say after all the madness started to being taken over by the Technari, getting blue screened, and being inactive for a week, life has given him a good kick in the face at ever possible opportunity.

While some people might see superpowers as a gift, a responsibility, or a curse, Vault considers superpowers something that happens to you, like getting a splinter or being hit by a car. This cynical outlook can be explained by his experience with, not only being subjected to other peoples superpowers, but his own.

Stratego
Tried to formulate a strategy to kill the guy who turned him into a plague zombie. Had a brain hemorrhage and passed into a 4 month coma.

Siren's Signal

Tried to use it to attract "his soulmate." Woman on the other side of the intersection starts to cross the street and is hit by a motorcycle coming around the corner. Vault disables power and speedwalks away, having no idea if he'd caused the accident or not.

Want/Need Swapper
Swapping his need to poop with his want to watch television backfires spectacularly.

Sore Loser
Used excessively to beat people at chess, he found out to late that it doesn't  make people lose fights. Ended up eating his king, both knights, and all his peasantry.

Revive the Dead
Revived a cat. It was not grateful.

Ruche (Hive)
Tried to be a superhero before being brainwashed by a man who could control insects and spending a year as the mans sidekick "The Buzz." Abandoned super heroism.

Moon Fire
Never used it because it felt evil, nearly turned into a moon calf as a result. Now has big floppy cow ears permanently.

Siri Mind Link
It somehow got adware.

The Hungarian Mirror Trap
Lost no less than three cats this way.

Even The Odds
Only ever uses it in fights where it turns out he actually has the advantage.

Ability Snatch
Once stole a woman's ability to generate wealth, it turns out she also had the ability to make wealth poisonous.

Werewolf Summon

Attacked by werewolves.

Transmechanization
Tried to build a Glass Clock before realizing what a bad idea that was. Instead built a glass stove, which exploded and burned his house down.

Game Master
Even when he wins with skill, no one believes him. Has stopped playing games.

Aftermath
This power does scratch damage and requires he be punched in the face.

10 Plagues
Accidentally unleashed on the city of Wilmington when he just tried to do the frogs bit.

Superpower: Arcana 11: Justice
Once got caught under an elevator over the course of Thanksgiving Weekend.

Timely Appearance

Always shows up right in time to get punched in the face.

Empathy Energy Waves
Blew up his house in response to a particularly unsatisfying plot twist.

Toilet Paper Teleport
Wind kicked up and blew toilet paper high into the air mid teleport. Plummeted 4 stories into a greenhouse full of cactus before he realized what was happening.

Amber Breath
Sued for devaluing Amber by local supplier.

Hyper Strike
Took out a support beam in his house while showing off that he could now punch through a wall.

Hyperventilation
Thrown in for attempted murder when someone had an asthma attack in his presence.

Undying Love
Tried to use it to defend his girlfriend. Did not work. No longer has a girlfriend.

Cardboard Enhancement
Road to work in a cardboard box every day until a rainstorm left him stranded from from home. His home, by the way, was another cardboard box.

Pain Switch
Didn't realize his hand was on a griddle until he smelled it.

Computer Entity
Tried to take a shower without realizing he had this power. Later, Technari arrived and hacked his brain and he was later that day kicked into the Hudson river.

The Animal Glyphs
Can not draw to save his life, and one of the animals that represents him is the banana slug.

Hey son, wanna' learn how ta' make witch balls?

You guys have characters in this thread that aren't intended for ESRP, right? Why not post them in the other thread?
