Philote:
"They have interesting Data and I'm glad that I've got a chance to become a part of it, though I would like to explore more what caused the difference between Marv and the Others." "What effects does the meteor have on each of them and more about that second form Marv sometimes transforms into would be other points of interest."
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

Marv: That's actually a very interesting story, Phi. It all goes back to when Mal turned evil...
After she came back to our planet she slowly began her reign of terror. It started as just a few angry fits when she would collapse a wall or injure another miscreant, but slowly she grew more and more violent. It was only a few days later that she killed the first of the miscreants. After that she remained in her chaotic state, killing anyone she could find and binding their power to herself. The Black planet's corruption made her seek power. It was a hunger she could not sate and each victim she killed and stole from only made her covet power more. A few miscreants, including me, hid in the lab of one of our chief scientists. The Scientist was Mag the Magnificent Miscreant and as you can guess the others were Myst, Missy, Mo and Merry. We had decided together that the only way we could stop Mal was to seek help. Mag had found a way to transport us off the planet so that we could search for someone, anyone to help us. He's developed a cross dimensional portal for use to travel through but we would need time to construct it, so we hid like cowards until we could finish it. Unfortunately just as Mag finished his device, Mal found us. We all jumped into the portal to escape, but Mal damaged the device just before we could enter. As the portal collapsed each of us was thrown into different dimensions and times. The others landed safely out of Mal's reach in alternate universes. I however drew a different path. Because I was the last to enter, the portal caught me halfway through and glitched. To this day I'm not sure what exactly happened and neither is Mag. My guess is that the portal sent me hurtling through the SPL World and I caught a trace of my alternate profile there. After that I thrown through several different dimensions until I ended up in the Substitute Battle Arena and eventually made my way to New Beginning. I know that it's a pretty vague answer but I'm still searching for a real answer as to what happened to me." "Now, about the meteor and my people. That's also a bit of a mystery. We know how it affects us, but we're not sure where it came from. From what we've discovered we know that the meteor is like a sort of radio tower sending out a constant signal to our planet and then to us. This signal is both a power source and a sort of mental puppet string. As long as we're receiving we are living breathing creatures born of inanimate earth. The meteor's power is some kind of alchemical power that is something akin to both magic and technology in many areas. As any miscreant comes closer to the meteor the signal get's stronger and thus their power amplifies as they begin to harness the excess flow. I hope that explains it, any other questions?"

"What is that white form you've transformed into on a couple occasions. If I remember it correctly you described it as transforming into your true miscreant form and shedding the outer appearance that you normally have for what I would guess was a quartz like form."

Though Miscreant are born of earth, we try to appear as flesh and blood. This requires us to constantly use a portion of our power at all times to maintain this disguise of sorts. The true miscreant form is the lowering of this guise and a return to full power. Almost like taking off training weights.
It also acts like a physical primal scream in that it mentally focuses us.

Here's one for Phi, if everything in your universe is composed of data particles, is there a possibility of a progressive retrovirus infecting your reality?

No more than any other universe would be susceptible. Philotes, the particle, are just supposed to be an extremely small part of an atom and aren't supposed to be exclusive to my dimension. Which is why I'm able to manipulate things outside my dimension. Cores, however, would be exclusive to my dimension.

Hmm interesting things have been said and asked so far must think of a question once I regain part of my strange little chunk of thought we call sanity.
My flame shines bright. Just make sure not to get burned by it.

To Any And All: What is paradise?
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Billy Bishop: Well, um, oh dear this is embarrassing to actually say. Um, a world without walls? I mean, I know it's almost blasphemous for me to say but I'd very much enjoy a place where I could go anywhere I wanted and no one would be able to stop me. Yes, I would very much enjoy that.
Ammon: To never work again. All the beer I could drink. Nubile woman who don't know the meaning of shame. And I'd kind of like to be alive when I get all this, so I can actually enjoy it. No priests allowed. In fact, no chanting either. I'm also soured on bandages. The Watchman: To be unnecessary. I would give anything to have all these dreams lifted off my back. The Vault: Paradise? I'll show you paradise. Look up. You see them? 300 billion stars in the galaxy. If I spent a week at each one it would take 5.76 billion years to see them all. Worlds would birth and die. Civilizations would rise and fall. Stars would form and disapate. If I spent a solar day at each one it would be 821.9 million years...but a day isn't enough to take in the sights. A week isn't enough. Even if I subdivide the task. A civilization can't make enough ships that can go fast enough to 'explore' before world birth and die. I will miss entire civilizations. And that's just this one galaxy..... It is impossible to "see it all." There will always be something I haven't seen, just over the horizon. And when the universe dies, and is remade, I will ride out the big bang and do it all again. Philosophers say that 'Paradise' doesn't exist, that it is an unattainable ideal, a mere idea to be striven for but never attained but they are wrong. Paradise was my very first treasure.

Mina (Goddess): "For me a paradise is a place where my children, those I've created can live without fear of persecution or constant threats. I would give anything to accomplish that."
Yamata Mina: "*Exasperated sigh* You sound like that tree hugger. Personally, I would want a neverending battlefield where I could fight all eternity without tiring, and -" Asoka: "- Rip out my enemies' hearts and drink their blood. The end of the world couldn't come slowly enough." Yamata Mina: "You said it Imouto-chan!" *Double clap, then fist bump, and salute of arms across chest* Crescent: "Yeesh, can you say 'violent?' For me and my family, we would love it if we were to find and retrieve every single one of our family's items, however since we don't know how many there are, that's a goal that is virtually unattainable." Rei: "Heheheheh, I'd much rather keep my ideal version of the world to myself..."

The Marvelous Miscreant: "Have you seen where I live? Now that's paradise.....or damn near close."
Crav: " A world in which I do not have to worry about the lives of others.. Whether that means a world in total peace or one in which I do not exist, I do not know." The Headmaster: "If all goes as planned, my students will see what I think paradise is for themselves."

Zaya: Brevity is Wit, so I shall be brief and summarize my speech into three words.
Death Trap, Bitches.
“She'd become a governess. It was one of the few jobs a known lady could do. And she'd taken to it well. She'd sworn that if she did indeed ever find herself dancing on rooftops with chimney sweeps she'd beat herself to death with her own umbrella.”

Jessica: I'm sorry you wrinkly old bitch, you lost any right to call yourself a villain once you started in on your sob story tragic past. "Wahhhhhh, I'm Zaya. I got played like a fiddle because I'm a complete dumbass and didn't even have the dignity to get revenge on the bastard. I killed the world, but I didn't take it's power for myself and crush everyone with it like the smart person I pretend I am would have. Oh, woe is me. Isn't my life awful?"
And what was with that pithy little sacrifice thing? Oh, I almost caught diabetes from that! Some sort of dark goddess for I don't know how long and the affection of an empty headed ginger twit is enough to turn you around? That's straight up pathetic! You disgust me. I mean, even before. Schemers, plotters, planners. The whole lot of you. Wimps who aren't able to tackle their problems head on. No, instead you stay back and send other people sneaking around, doing the things you're to scared to do in person. Thinking, for even a moment, that you could fail. If I'd had a problem with Haket or Watcher or whatever I'd have done it simple: Kicked in their door and shown them who was god queen of the world! And if they didn't like it, I'd have blown off their heads and hung their bodies from the gate of my massive castle. Ass. End. Up.

Uburra-Namall: Paradise is an instant in the arms of Love. After all, who but the love-struck, or maybe the mad, can perceive the true depths of joy and pain?
“…Judge not what a man has done, but judge what he could have done if he was a different bloke altogether. For art thou a leper? And a leper can changeth his spots…” --Rudy Wade, Misfits (Series 4, Episode 8)
