Stohlen Redd:

"Obviously, attacking. Sitting around and hoping to outlast an opponent is just silly. There's no other word for it. Silly. Like they're just going to up and quit attacking. Yeah right. No matter how good the defense, an attack can whittle it down to nothing and then its all over. You just have to be the one to strike first...."

Jassi: Well, it all depends. Prudence and a calm head should allow you to determine the right course of action in any given situation.

Jissei: Attack, of course. Defending implies that you don't have sufficient power to take the enemy down, whether that power comes in the form of magical might, brute force, political influence, psychological sway, moral conviction or plain intestinal fortitude. And if you don't have that power then, by all means, feel free to sit idly by. All the better to make room for those who don't lack the will and capability.

Where did you grow up? What was homelife like?

Also, how old are you?
Asoka: I grew up in the Draconic Empire as a member of the Yamata family, a household of nobles. Our family is more Eastern in way of life than the other families, but even we see the use in learning how to fight in multiple different styles, similar to MMA or other mixed ways of combat. Most often we wake up and train our bodies until lunchtime, then train more until it's time to go to sleep. Every once in a while there's a fun party or a battle that one of us has to go to but it's generally training is the most favored activity.

Ah, and I'm 14 by the way.

Dryad: Defense is good, as is offense, however this then brings up the concept of "the best offense is a good defense" and "the best defense is a good offense." The two are irrevocably intertwined.

Suzu: Who needs defense? Just strike, strike, and strike!

Crescent: Mobility to be able to do both is the best. If you can't move fast enough to either dodge or hit your opponent, then you're out of luck and most likely going to lose.

Mina: Neither matters if you don't have the creativity and flexibility to change strategies when you need to do something different for efficient results. Oh, and I like lilies.

NB Collective: Offense. After all, you know what they say. You can't hurt me if I've retroactively nullified your very existence.

The Penultimate: I would tell him or her, in the case their date turns out to be some sort of a trap, or they run into baddies along the way, to remember what training I gave them in stealth, espionage, martial arts, tech, magic and any abilities they may possess. It's much better to be deadly than dead.

Oh... Interesting.   Didn't think of that one at all.
Maybe because English isn't my native language and I look at that word more as something a vain person would say.
