So does anyone know anything about the battle arena? Like how it was planning to be used or what the rules would be?

Idk if something is already being made but i have a idea of how it might be made easier to make. Since it would be near impossible for each power to be programmed for the battle arena i think the powers on the list should be categorized. Categories such as Mind, Fire, Support and Space with Misc. for all those powers submitted that do not fit or were just made for fun. The mods would chose which category to put powers that are submitted in. Each power would gain a simple icon at the top of its page representing its category after a mod has chosen which to put it in.

Once all or most powers have been put into categories the battle arena could be programed around how many powers you have in a certain category. Such as if you have 10 fire based powers you can do something in the battle arena that a person with 6 powers couldn't. The only problem would be that Vespert with his 200 something powers would be overpowered though he would be anyways. Need some form of balancing for the battle arena that i do not know yet.

Also as an added bonus if the powers are in categories it would apply a new way to search for powers on the list.

Edit: i had an idea to make it more balanced, say you can only take a certain number of powers into the battle arena, say have three rooms one for 10 powers, 30, and 50. Then the strategy would be to decide if you wanted More points in your fire category instead of using your ice powers. Some type of rock paper scissors effect could be put into effect for the categories then.

I know what you are thinking; "Justin has stopped making the BA, so stop bringing it up". I am here to tell you that I, Myself, have taken the responsibility upon myself to program, with recruited assistance, the BA.

I cannot guarantee it, but if I manage to do so, it will be a Unity-based game (for easy programming), complete with health and a small map. If you wish to help out, you just need to announce your  intentions on the "Any good programmers here?" thread in the "Thoughts, Ideas and Stories" section of the forum.

Don't worry, you do not need to know the first thing about programming; if you could help out in any way, it would be much appreciated.

Here is the current (confirmed) staff:
-Myself: Head of project, limited programming, level development. May handle limited advertising in future on Youtube and possibly Cracked.
-Marvelous Miscreant: Level design, art development.
-Shadowulf1: Story line development (if needed), possible contact with Justin.

As you can see, we are in need of more advanced programming (able to handle avatars, etc) as well as enough people to reduce individual load (Myself is in VCE, others have college, etc). The more people we have, the better the balancing between powers; at the moment, each powers' function is determined only by three people, which could hold bias.

Yes, in these instances I do refer to myself in third person, which ironically is a way of referring to myself in first person in some situations.

Alright, staff update:

Myself: Head of project, level development, lower-level coding.
Marvelous Miscreant: Art development, level design (aesthetics).
Shadowulf1: Advertising, story development, possible contact with Justin, narration.
WHD: Narration, alpha tester, quality control.

We do need more programmers, as it is likely that if you have had any hands-on experience with Unity at all, you are more advanced than I.

This may have monsters in some situations, some of which will be designed by Shadowulf1 and possibly Marvelous Miscreant (Marv may do artwork/color, etc while Wulfie does abilities, attack styles, etc).

From what I know, they'll be basic at first, but as skills develop, so will the designs.

I now have someone to focus on the enemies, avatars and possibly levels. That frees up a lot of time for me.

The only rule; they must consist of simple shapes. Maybe get Unity yourself, get a friend to help you and then try to make some.
