It depends, some goblins are capable of controlling machinery and creating alchemic potions. But seriously though I probably should have said goblins and gremlins instead. I was originally thinking gremlins anyway, but they're more mischevious.

Well, they can be clever on occasion. But they're toadies for more powerful beings almost all the time. Cowardly, mean, immature and mischievous.

The perfect minions, even on their bungling days.

Maybe clever, but the type of goblins I know are way too stupid to operate any kind of machinery.

Yeah, I could subscribe to that.

And let's not leave out their equally dense, but much stronger counterparts the hobgoblins.

I think I have a pretty good grasp of how folks portray them.

Re: Base design

I've implemented a new power supply in all my bases. It allows heat to teleport between them, providing power, stabilizing active wormholes (thus cutting power requirements further) and equalizes heat distribution.

For instance, the excess heat in one of my surface Venus colonies can heat up/be cooled by a base in the ice on Charon (Pluto's largest moon), potentially making a small lake or ocean. This also powers both bases and keeps existing wormholes between them active without need for extra power. In fact, they may need a burst of energy to shut it down.

Re: Base design

I'd have bases around my home city for interaction with my normal life.

For example:
1) Connects to my house. My family would want me around for special events like Christmas, wouldn't they?
2) Under my school. I'd want to go to school to maintain a disguise of normality. I'd use my powers to finish my homework instantaneously. Another good thing about going to school is that someone has (if only a little) power over me, hindering the development of a power complex, which would be nearly inevitable.
3) A center for meeting with normal humanity. This would allow the government of my country to make requests and proposals, which I could accept or deny.
4) A base under the parliament house in my city. With this building, I can interact with the government and have a secondary meeting area.
