Alright, I have begun this thread to highlight a threat to this very site.

I know this isn't superpower-related, but since it affects the site in general, I decided it was necessary. These pieces of legislation could block the site in America if even ONE power/post SEEMS like piracy. If you live in America, you could write a letter to congress/parliament (I'm no expert on American democracy; Australia has different names for things and small differences elsewhere).

"So, if it only affects America, why are you, an Australian, concerned? You aren't blocked." I hear some readers ask. Well, if you guys are blocked, how can I talk to you? If everyone else is blocked, where do the new powers come from? Without other people, Justin cannot get the advertising money he normally gets, so it may shut down entirely. This is the reason I'm concerned about it. Luckily, a lot of other people, including my fellow Australians, are against the abberation.

OMG! Good God, those ideas are TERRIBLE!

I just looked up what the heck these bills do, and they are WAY too extreme! Much simpler measures can be taken to prevent getting peoples' stuff stolen (or help after it has been). Can you imagine how many folks would be arrested, or have their sites shut down because they have a picture on their site that they like, just because it isn't theirs???

Not to mention, if these bills were to be passed, I hate to say, but I'd probably end up getting the Superpower Wiki, Warriors of Myth Wiki, Evolutionist's Stone Wiki, and a few other wikis shut down, because of the image content they host (I can't draw, so that's really kinda my only option). Maybe even getting arrested for the songs I've downloaded, just because I don't have the money to pay for them!

I'm not really worried about it, I don't see how it could ever be passed at this point.

No. No you have not.

Simply put, because it won't pass.

And if it does, it'll be put down so quick, the politicians heads will spin more than normal.

We've got bigger fish to fry, quite honestly. World peace and animal rights and such.

I believe the bills should be put out of our misery, and I think they will be. End of story, as far as I'm concerned.

Actually if you give me a list I'd be more than happy to draw up a few sketches of the creatures themselves, I can draw okay, but I never have time to put the effort into the paint program to toch up the scan.
