Indeed. Though, the shapeshifter could probably have a more gender neutral name. Zale's Evolutionist's Stone shapeshifter was named Alex, for example.

I might actually add an energy absorbing female. My logic:
-3 males: Telepath, OPM, Telekinetic
-3 females: Biokinetic, Energy-absorbing, superhuman speed
-1 who can choose (but is usually male due to it being his original form): Shapeshifting.

She would not be able to absorb psionic energy or energy she does not know will hit her. She may also have difficulty with kinetic energy. She exists because Nathan can project telekinetic forcefields, but they'd be unable to stop mental attacks (stopped by Matt), magic (Andrew's unstable ability may allow him immunity to and the ability to dispel the direct effects of magic) and of course, energy (heat, sound, lightening, etc).

I am trying to make this team relatively weak as individuals, but a force to be reckoned with when together.

I'm thinking this mystery female's name would be Stephanie.

I will say this once, and once alone, beware of power creep, it ruins tension, thereby ruining your story.

Think about your antagonist, a suicidal lunatic with a bomb is just as bad as an intergalactic overlord who feeds planets to his 7 exotic space-birds. Exept that lunatics are funnier, generate tension when the madness comes to you, therefore putting defenseless people in danger, just don't make ANYONE generic or completely powerless, trapped by mr magilille? Kick him in the foot to buy you precious seconds...

Also people like to talk in danger, stalling and all that jazz.

Make "pro" objectives, the mission might fail if the hero dies... But what if the others die? Don't they Matter too? Think empathetically, and go back if the story's horrible to read.

Consult with others. They'll be reading it anyway, don't keep it from them, oh, but make sure they give you feedback, and lots of it.

Your characters are people too! The story may be grim, down in da dumps and downright tensious, but let your characters need to relax every once in a while, maybe even let them smile, but don't forget to make them scream afterwards!

I know that this is a very old post (the first one on this thread) , but I thought I might suggest some things:

There are some random name generators, if you'd like.

I've also noticed a pattern in some comic character's names: take Riddler, for example. His full name is Edward Nigma, but if you turn the Edward into an initial, it spells E. Nigma, which resembles the word 'enigma', which describes a puzzling or odd situation or event.

So, if you did that with words related to the person's power, you might get a cool last name!

Some examples I made are:
  - S. Parks, E. Lectron (Electrokinesis),
  - R. Ace, D. Asher (Super Speed),
  - B. Right, (Photokinesis)
  - D. I. Stort (Shape Shifter, the I is a middle name)
  - V. Ital (Biokinesis),
  - L. Ink, M. Arbles (Telepath
And more! You just need to come up with a name that starts with the first letter (although I'm not sure about the E.Lectron one).

I think I will remove the energy absorber and Becky's Superhuman Speed and replace it with a power I now plan on adding to the site.

This ability allows one to grant themselves and those in their immediate vicinity passive powers, usually only one at a time. Mages? Magic immunity. Fire? Fire immunity. Cornered? Super Speed. Need a bit of extra healing? Regeneration. Need to hide? Passive invisibility. Underpowered? Power boost. Power negators? Power Safety.

It could even be used offensively, such as giving people negative powers, such as the power to die in sunlight, then pulling allies into cover and pushing enemies into the sun. In addition, this power can have groups, such as only females, only superhumans or only those in their youth.

I may also remove the evolved powers to make it more logical.
