There are many logical problems in comics, but I am not stating them. I am just conveying facts.

However, it is possible she only becomes able to interact with a gas in such a way on a selected surface; in this case, her feet.

If Kitty farts, and the gass becomes unphased thus having contact with air,
then would that count as jet propulsion?

Another power that seems great is Time Travel to the past and back to the future.

There are tons of paradoxial traps.

And the danger of messing up the whole fabric of time is way to high.

A time loop could keep time repeating itself forever.
Maybe even destroy time.  
Which would destroy all existence.

Flying would suck

Birds, wind, lightning, unauthorized air space, trees, buildings

Any kind of touch on effect power   (heat,ice,kill,plague,etc)    don't scratch yourself

Psychic--hear everything people think about you    (sexual thoughts, hate, insults, i want you bf/gf/husband/wife)

Well, lightning wouldn't be an issue, because you can't pass electricity through to the ground. However, in the air it can get really cold, and if you lose heat, you become more of a conductor of electricity. So if you were wearing a wool coat while flying, the electrons will be excited, and when you land, anything you touch is instantly fried.

Flight would have to be something you stuck low to the ground with, because going up to any significant height would be cold. Like, "the wind will freeze the capillaries in your face just like in Russia winters" cold.

Also, using it all the time would cause your legs to atrophy from never using them. But that's really on you. Flyers need to jog more than anyone.
