Ah, right. School this size, the dining hall is going to have more than one door. Billy looks out into the pitched battle going on in the dining room, worried sick and wondering what he can do. He hadn't exactly learned any combat spells yet. So he stood there, terrified amid the screams of the wounded, feeling useless. Until a spider came for him.
It was a large and ghastly thing, with course brown hair and gleaming red eyes. It advanced on Billy with it's eight spindly legs. Billy looked around, for a weapon, for help, anything, and founds all directions wanting. This was it, this was the end, and Billy was scared, not by the spider, but the fact that he was not completely okay with it. It was a shameful feeling, not being at peace with your own death, but it was only natural. It meant he was a failure. He had failed his country, his mother, and The King. The worst bit was that there was still so much he wanted to know. For example, how exactly did Tiberius's people bury their dead? He had never had time to read that... Wait a minute... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Marco Stacy was not having a good day. It was all fun and games in the destruction homeroom before everyone had learned his last name, and that had been that. The constant Jeers and laughter that had plagued his childhood had come roaring back, just like that. He had come to this school to make a fresh start, to get away from all that, and where had it gotten him? Well, it was about to get him eaten by a giant spider for one thing, but as far as he was concerned that was just the topper to an already crappy day. Really, being trapped in a web about to have his vital fluid drained was, he mused, the only way this day could possibly have ended. It was then that he heard what sounded like battle cry, the strangest one he had ever heard, because it sounded like a long, drawn out, IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII APOLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIZE, followed by a sickening wet *CRUNCH* A few seconds later, someone was slicing at the webbing around his face. After a few minuets of work, Marco got a good look at his rescuer. The boy was pale, had curly blond hair, a manic look in his eye, and a gore splattered robe. The spider that had been getting ready to chow down was crushed underneath a very battered and bile stained book. The boy checked Marco's pulse, smiled, and motioned to his left. Immediately, two more first years were there with what he saw were bread knives. He was just about to thank the boy when he heard him shout enthusiastically, point, and rush off across the room, a few other student following along. The two that were left with him told him that the boy had freed them too, and they had just sort of been caught up in his wake. They didn't know his name. He hadn't told them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Billy pointed, and the two student that had followed him set to work on the newest cocoon while Billy stood guard, his mighty weapon in hand. He sincerely hoped that Mr. Tiberius wouldn't be to cross with him for using his book like this. Billy only hoped that he was in the room, and could hear his apologies. He then saw a spider slinking up behind his entourage, took a deep breath, and charged.

(How big are spiders?)
Out in the halls, I try to make out what is going on, when a series of spiders break into hall. Simply put, I run for my life.

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. |

"Grrrr..."
Wulf grumbles under his breath. "Where I come from, they used to call me Bug Zapper...and even though these are arachnids, I plan on zapping them, too." He conjurs an electrical sphere in hand, blasting at every spider he sees. He won't be able to hold them off for long, but at least he can get a couple shots in.

Asoka backs up at the sight of the spiders and starts throwing fireballs at every single one she sees.
Asoka: "Nooooo!!! Not spiders! I hate spiders!" Her last time seeing a spider that she could recall was when her sister had put several into her bed as a prank. Kuroko got in trouble for it and now it was causing Asoka to panic.

After finishing the lesson many screams could be heard from outside. Quickly curiosity took the students as the quickly ran out to see the commotion. In a moment the students that had ran out ran just as quickly back inside. With a Giant Spider trying to enter the classroom through the door. Within a few seconds Sam and some other students had quickly killed the spider with the spell they had just learned. In an instant Sam realized what those screams were. "Hey teacher I'm heading to my room thanks for the lesson and don't worry about me I'll be alright." Jumping over the spiders body and quickly making it inside the dorm it took him some time to notice, but the spiders seemed to be heading to the dining hall. Getting into his room to find a red wooden chest next to his bed. "Alright my parents sent me a bottomless box." Opening it he reached grabbing everything he would need. "Okay throwing knives check, Scimitar check, Shield check, and the most important some fireworks." He said checking all that he equipment he would need. After he had checked everything he ran to the roof of the dorm. Seeing that the spiders where swarming the dining hall.
Aiming a few of the fireworks at the swarm. Lit only one that was aiming towards the sky. With a loud boom light filled the sky. As the beast saw the light they diverted there attention to Samuel. Lighting the rest of the fireworks they all fired in the direction of the spiders. Only a few hit and caused more attention to him. As part of the swarm started to climb up to he ran back inside locking the door behind him. Feeling the spiders trying to ram the door open, but after a few seconds the ramming stopped. Taking a few steps down the stairs. The door was pulled out from the other side. Without a seconds thought he ran back down. "Dam dam dam damn!!! My plan is working a bit too well!!!" he yelled. // I think we aren't giving the spiders too much credit here. They would have the same intellect as a regular spider if they all worked by themselves. However they are swarming the school as a group. That proves there must be some kind of intelligence to them.//
My flame shines bright. Just make sure not to get burned by it.

Billy had always heard that, when fighting any battle, it was always better to let the enemy come to you instead of going to them. the best way to go about this is building a defensible position and allowing the enemy to throw themselves at the defenders until they were either all dead, or to tuckered out to continue. In Billy's homeland, this was accomplished with the great Pearly Gates, a magnificent white wall the encircled the kingdom that had never once been breached. The wall was tall, wide, and polished to a shine. At sunset, in was quite a sight to behold.
The circle of upturned tables that served as the war base of The Kethencian College Arachnid Resistance Initiative (not an official name, just how Billy mentally referred to to the three dozen odd students gathered behind them) was less impressive. But it was still doing it's job admirably. The student who could still fight where doing so, attacking the advancing spiders with blasts of magic. They had also picked up a few healers, who were currently treating the wounded within the walls, as well as a defensive specialist who threw up wall when the spiders got to close for comfort, and it only appeared that more student where making their ways to the group. The best addition to the group was Bones, who was currently raising up spiders as they fell and sending them back at their former brethren. Billy smiled as he watched. The amount of defenders had made his book attack unnecessary, which was good because he didn't think that it would survive another dozen spiders. wondering what else he could do, Billy shut his eyes and called out to the spirit world. Old Jack had said that the dining area had it's fair share of ghosts, and If Billy could get a hold of one in all this commotion, maybe they could give him some information about just what was going on here.

As the initial wave of spiders is defeated it becomes apparent that the spiders are all coming from the same place as they are all traveling from the same direction.

My initial plan is to run to the Shield Wing for protection, but it becomes clear that the concentration of spiders is too thick between myself and the wing. All the spiders seem to be coming from that direction, and I'm forced to make my way into the nearest dorm wing to save myself. I make my way past some students who are preparing defenses and look for this dorm's head.
(Marv, can you pick a random dorm wing for me to have run into, plus mention the Head)

"What do you mean they're all coming from the same direction?" Billy asked the ghost of Miss Copplebottum, one of the schools old cooks. She had died in an unfortunate pasta accident that had left several student traumatized, but had hung around to badger the kitchen staff. Imagine a plump old lunch lady, a women you can tell has grand kids, and make her transparent. That image that popped into your head was Miss Copplebottum.
"Well, all you have to do is look dearie. You see..." She says, pointing at the door. the spiders where coming in almost single file now, like student coming to lunch. "Now, I don't know much about spiders, but if they're anything like ants all you have to do to squash the buggers is follow the trail and pour something on the nest." Now, anyone who thought before they acted would have pointed out that spiders are not like ants, but this was sage advice from a ghost. This was not something that Billy COULD disbelieve. "Thank you. ma'am. You've been an amazing help. If you ever need anything, please do not hesitate to ask." With that, Billy looked around at the ramshackle defenses. Almost fifty students were within now, and they had had to expand the barricade a bit to accommodate them. Then, without a word, he leap the wall and began running to the door, weapon tucked under his arm.

The trail of spiders seems to be coming from one of the less used corridors in the School. It looks as if the corridor had previously been sealed off, but was now broken and open.

I help by dragging furniture from the main area of the dorm to barricade the doors. "If only I hadn't used up all my mana in practice earlier" I sigh offhandedly to Zang.

"And that's why we have the Mana Management classes. You should be more careful. You never know when you'll need magic. That's why I wear this."
Zang points to a small amulet around his neck. "It's enchanted to act as a mana reservoir. The head of the Enchanting School made it for me."
