The Kethencian College of Magic RP (Part 2)

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Yes, of course."Billy said, ditting down before her. "You remember the spiders? It turns out they weren't spiders but a type of animated doll. I conducted my own investigation with some friends, and we found that the spiders changed into these." Billy pulls out the doll, and lays it on the table.

"Sticks, tied up with hair. Now, I read somewhere that tracking someone based on their body parts is child's play to a diviner, and I know this must lead to the one who made these things, because he sent Gob to clean them up." He catches the oricals look, and assures her, "Don't worry, we're friends now."

"All the other divination student are busy doing.... something. Do you know what it is, by the way? Anyway, they sent me to you."

[Philote]

I write: I'll visit again soon.

And then wave goodbye.  Walking away, I contemplate how to learn more about the sprite. I could practice sign language, or even better, have Asoka send a message in for me if that was even possible. I wonder if I should ask the Shield Wing head about it, but worry that they would try to prevent me from communicating.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"They are probably practiceing. I don't know for sure. As you might guess, I don't get out much. My....."condition" tend to put people off. Anyways...scrying hair should be simple enough."

Samantha plucks the hair form the doll and lays upon the table.

"This will take but a moment"

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"By your leave. If it wouldn't be rude, what exactly is your condition?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Well....I'm an Oracle....Have you never met one of my race?"

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"No, never."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"Well, as you may have noticed we don't always look appealing. Kind of a side effect for our long lives. Anyways, I should do this scrying, it seems important to you."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Not just me, Miss Oddak, this is important to the entire school."

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"I see....Well, here goes."

Samantha begins to chant and the hair begins to glow. Samantha slips into a trance and her skin returns to its corpse-like state. Seconds pass as the air in the room grows calm. The Hair continues to glow and float in the air.

Suddenly the hair burst into flames and Samantha snaps back into consciousness. Her skin returns to normal and she gasps for breath.A look of fear crosses her face.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

The hair combustion is too much for poor Gob, who disappears from his hidey hole and goes to wait in the hall.

Billy, on the other hand, stands up and goes to Samantha.

"Miss Oddak, are you alright?"

"I.....I'm fine. It only startled me. Who ever this hair belongs to, they do not want to be found. I only caught a glimpse of something strange before the connection was severed."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Something strange?"

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"A hallway...lined with glowing runes and candles burning with green flames. At the end of the hall was a door. A very evil looking door with red eyes carved into it. That's all I saw before the conection was broken. I'm sorry, I couldn't be of more help. Whoever this is, they're involved in some nasty stuff."

Samantha slumps into her chair, exhausted. Her skin takes on a withered look as she takes a deep breath.

Feeling his stomach grumble Samuel got up and realized just how much time had pass. Making it to the dining hall he munched ate the food with a sleepish expresion on his face

I return to the sprite. It was simple enough to get a book on sign language from the library, now I only had to hope that nobody would question what I was doing.

Grabbing writing utensils again, I write a message explaining how to use sign language and asking for the sprite to tell me about herself, before holding up the message and the sign language chart to her.

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

Billy sighed. He had hoped that she would get a good look at whoever it was.

But in a way, this was a better result than he expected! The Red eyes, those had to be important. A face only gave you a single person, but a symbol? Those could be used to I.D. an entire group.

"Thank you for your help, Miss Oddak. This could go a long way towards discovering what we are up against!" Billy paused, then added, "I apologize if you suffered any pain on my behalf. I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of compensation..."He says, riffling through his pockets.

[Marvelous Miscreant]

"That's okay...just......just promise me you'll visit ever once in awhile and we'll call it even. It get's boring in here."

[Gentleman Vaultboy]

"Of course! It would be a pleasure! That's the very least I could do. But now, I have to give my allies this information. You were a great help, Miss Oddak, thank you, thank you." Billy bows to the sooth-Sayer, spins on his heel, and is out the door.

"Gob!" she hears. "Gob, get over here..." Before it trails off. What sounds like a hushed conversation follows, before Gob hesitantly re-enters the room.

"Gob Was Told To Apologize!...For The Door!...Gob Sorry!"

Gob then disappears again through the hole.

Billy was waiting for him.
 
"That was excellent Gob! Now, we need to find our allies and the Headmaster. I want to see what they all know about the Red Eye. The dining hall would be our best bet, I think. After all, everyone had to eat sometimes." Billy said, again moving off to the dining hall. Gob Followed, vigorously nodding his head in agreement.

The sprite signs slowly. She tells of her past life, which isn't much. She had been in the shield wing for decades.
