Holy crap Phi, I just realized that your practically invulnerable. I mean, you can only take as much damage as a human can because Shedinja's defense is basically useless but that's still only damage coming from certain typed attacks. On anything that doesn't die in a single hit Wonder Guard is stupid broken.
Invulnerable? Doggone it! I shoulda known I was wading into crappy waters, dealing with a bunch of Poke-maniacs, and me the newbie! (grumbles in Celadonian) Well, fine, fine, long as you don't take too much advantage of what I don't know about the gaming system.

Keep my experience level with Pokemon in mind, folks. Please. Go easy on me. I don't want to have to hand the reins over to a more well-versed GM.

Basically, any attack that isn't super effective against Shedinja's Bug/Ghost typing just slides off because of its special ability, Wonder Guard. The only types that can hurt it are Fire, Rock, Ghost, Flying, and Dark. This is normally balanced by the fact that Shedinja only has a single hit point. It's literally just the shed skin of another Pokemon, so it's hilariously fragile. It's a gimmick Pokemon and the only one that can have that ability.

But if you take Wonder Guard and slap it on something that isn't overwhelmed by a single attack than you've hit the superpower lottery.

It only, however, blocks damage. And only direct damage at that. You can still affect Shedinja's stats, and indirect attacks like poison powder or sandstorm go right through it.

Shhhh Don't tell him all my secrets
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

1 Corinthians 13:1-3 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Cover's blown, bug boy!  (And, to be honest, I should've known to look up info on it anyhow; I recall hearing there was something about that ability)

So for this pokemon thing of yours do you also take into account what's written into the description in the pokedex, because if so I would be surprised if no one picked this guy.

he doesn't seem like much until you read this.

" Magcargo's body temperature is approximately 18,000 degrees F. Water is vaporized on contact. If this Pokémon is caught in the rain, the raindrops instantly turn into steam, cloaking the area in a thick fog. "

As a reference, the meltingtemperature of lead is only 622 degrees. Just by existing you'd basically be a walking thermo nuclear reaction killing everything in a several mile radius around you.

Pokemon tend to have pretty OP powers in-description.

I'm convinced that either the pokedex just gives myth and legend when consulted, or the entries are made up by the ten year olds the professors hire to fill them out.

I refuse to believe that every Magcargo is hotter than the surface of the sun!

Why not, they're not animals, they are literal monsters run by magic. They dont really have to follow the laws of physics

I actually love that as an explanation for the crazy Pokemon descriptions. The exaggerations of 10-year-olds in research...

The myth explanation works just fine. And perhaps, embellished by the 10-yeat-old researchers?

I mean hell, this is a world where rats shoot lightning, 4 legged monsters control the building blocks of reality, people create life from computer programs, and monsters rain from the sky from other planets.

If someone tells me that a slug over there that literally just crawled out from the depths of the earth through a lava flow has an internal body temp of 18000 I'm going to believe them.

Salt is an interesting chemical when you eat too much of it increases your blood density effectively exploding your vessels causing aneurisms in the brain. Allot of people seem to use that saying in order to justify their own opinions or outright deny logic and fact.

Hey, Jester, I know the Forum is typically our place for Internet anonymity, but isn't your name Michael Todd Black? I just saw a guy on Facebook, the author of a comic called Guardians, and his name was Todd Black and I wondered if it was you.
